Minecraft Mob Tips for Beginners

There are millions of people that enjoy playing the fun and highly addictive game of Minecraft everyday. When you are playing the game one of the first things that you will realize is that you will need to either do a great deal of mining different ores when it comes to leveling up or you will need to be able to be successful in defeating mobs in order to reach higher levels. This article focuses on tips for defeating mobs in Minecraft.

Hostile Mob Tips

The two most commonly known mobs in this game are the zombie and the creeper mobs. You will want to be especially careful around the zombie mobs as if they are able to defeat you they will often be able to equip your armor as well as you weapon. You also want to make sure that you approach a creeper mob very carefully as they are prone to exploding when they get close to you. They do however have a fuse time so if you are able to attack them properly you will be able to defeat them without being blown up. One good strategy to keep in mind is hitting them and backing away, repeating the process until you are able to defeat the mob.

Skeleton archers are another hostile mob group that you will have to deal with. Please keep in mind that this type of mob can also end up equipping your items should they successfully defeat you. A great tip for taking on a skeleton archer mob is to use a bow and attack from a distance. You will also need to be on the lookout for Endermen. You need to make sure that you do not use a ranged weapon when you are taking on one of these creatures as they are able to teleport. Remember that Endermen are passive until you hit them or look them right in the eye. You can wear a pumpkin on your head to make sure that you do not accidentally do this.

You will want to keep in mind that spiders are basically the same as cave spiders, except for their size and color. It is easy to see that the best way to kill any type of spider is with a sword as they are able to jump around a great deal making it hard to defeat them with a bow. It is also important to know that spiders are able to climb walls so in order to make sure that they cannot enter your house you should create a three block wall of cacti making sure that you have a tunnel underneath so that the spiders will end up dieing before they are able to enter your home.

Passive Mob Tips

Along with hostile mobs in Minecraft you will find that there are also passive mobs that include pigs, sheep, cows, chickens and wolves. The wolf mobs are passive until you attack them so be sure to be ready with your sword if you decide to take on this type of mob. Another type of passive mob includes the villager. This type of mob can be useful as you are able to purchase items from them using emeralds. Emeralds are the only currency in the vanilla game. As you purchase more items from the villagers the more items they will have available for sale.

While this is not a complete list of the mobs that you will run into while playing Minecraft it does give you a good idea as to what to look for when you are first starting out in the game.
