In order to continue to build up resources, you will need people to man your resource buildings. To get more residents in your kingdom, go to the city view and start building and upgrading your homes. A level 1 home holds 100 people, level 2 holds 300, then level 3 holds 600, level 4 holds 1,000 and so on. The more homes that you have, the more troops you can have and the more that you can upgrade your resources.
Each one of your residents pays gold as a tax, too. The default tax rate in the game is 10 percent, so there are two ways to make more money. One of them is to go to the city view, tap on the Keep, and increase the taxes. The other way to do so is simply to build and upgrade more homes, so that you have more people in your city, therefore you have more people to pay taxes.
During the tutorial, you’ll also learn all about completing quests. When there is a number next to the “quest” button in the bottom toolbar, that means that quests have been completed, so you and go and hit the “claim” button and collect your rewards, which will consist of food, wood, stone, ore and gold. You don’t get the rewards until you collect them, and you can collect them whenever you want. You can also tap on any of the quests that you haven’t completed yet in order to see what you need to do to complete them.
While your are in your city view, there are a number of other important buildings that you can build. In your Great Hall, you have your heroes, and if you build a Tavern, you can recruit more heroes. Your heroes can either be assigned to head a marching unit when you attack another player, a goblin camp or a resource field, or they can be assigned to a task, such as production. Whatever task they get assigned to, they will provide a boost, such as speeding up resource production or speeding up troop training.
