One of the most important buildings in the city view is the Academy, which will allow you to research brand new technologies to help out your city. Researching Fertilizer will enable you to increase food production. Arbors will enable you to increase wood production, while Masonry and Smelting will increase stone and ore production. Researching Siege Weapons will increase the training speed of your troops in the barracks. Researching Far Seeing will enable you to scout players, Wilds and goblin camps, and the higher the research level, the more information you get.

Honed blades will increase the attack of all of your troops. Metal Alloys will allow you to unlock more advanced troops and defenses. Saddlebags will increase the load that all of your troops can carry by 10 percent per level. Cartography will allow you to increase the marching speed of your foot troops, while horseshoes increase the marching speed of your ranged troops. Fletching allows you to train different types of advanced troops. Strongbox will increase the capacity of your vault. Vigor will increase your troops’ health, and engineering will speed up construction.

If you see an “X” over the picture next to the technology, building, or upgrade button (depending on where you are), that means that the building, upgrade or technology is not currently available. Tap on it and there will be a series of conditions that you need to fulfill in order to unlock it, such as gaining experience levels and upgrading other buildings or researching other technologies. Once you do these, go back to the original building, technology or upgrade and it will be unlocked.

The Forge, Armory and Stable are buildings that are required in order to unlock more advanced troops. The Vault, which was previously mentioned, hides resources automatically so that if you get attacked and defeated, then those resources hidden in the vault will be safe. The Muster Field allows you to assemble troops for action, which is useful if you want to use troops from multiple cities, or if you are a part of an alliance and want to transport troops between you and your allies, or even simply between your first and second cities.
