Into the Dead is a new endless runner for the iPhone. If there was an endless runner version of The Walking Dead, this would be it, as you go into a first person perspective, running through a dim landscape in the midst of the Zombie Apocalypse, trying to avoid the vast legions of zombies that are trying to kill you, and shooting them with weapons that you get from the armory as well. Read on for some tips and tricks for Into the Dead!
The controls are extremely unclear when you first begin the game, but there are ways to change them to make them much more like other games that you’re used to. Go to the main menu of the game and hit the settings button (the one that looks like a set of gears). You will get to choose from tilt, thumbstick, mirrored thumbstick and touch controls. The default, for some strange reason, is mirrored thumbstick, but if you set it to either tilt or touch, you will have the same controls as just about every other endless runner that there is.
Save a pistol and all of your ammo after you hit about 1,000 yards. Save it for the corn field, because throughout most of the corn field, you won’t be able to see, meaning that it will be very easy to get eaten by a zombie. To counteract this, as soon as you hit the cornfield, start emptying your clip (or using whatever other weapon that you have at the time), until you come out of the other side of the corn field.
Don’t start the game with any perks unless you need to for a specific mission, and even then only take the perks that you need. For example, if you need to kill 10 or 15 zombies, start with a weapon and/or increase the size of your clip, or if you need to set a new distance record, start 1500 yards ahead.
