Dark Ages – Before The Empire Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats and Strategies

Dark Ages – Before The Empire is a new iPhone game by Simpy, although you wouldn’t be blamed for mistaking it for a Kabam game, as it’s designed very much in the style of Kingdoms of Camelot – Battle For the North. Dark Ages – Before The Empire goes back to the middle ages, where many kings were in charge of many kingdoms and were fighting constant war with each other. You get your very own city to control, and your goal is to build up your might and resources, increase the size of your army, even get a second and third city, and become one of the most powerful warlords in your kingdom.

When you first begin playing Dark Ages – Before The Empire, you will get one week of beginner protection, where you cannot attack or be attacked. Use this time to build up your stores of food, wood, stone, gold and ore, and then use as much of it as possible to increase the size of your army, and research everything that you can, and level up as high as you can.

Then, take your time and build every one of the required military and associated buildings up at the higher plateau in your kingdom, so that you can train stronger troops and begin upgrading them, recruit your heroes, and then fill in the rest of the spaces with houses to increase your population. The higher population, the more gold that you get, since you have more people to tax.

Leave the quest rewards alone, though, until after your beginner protections runs out. Then, since you can get attacked at any time, claim your rewards only when you need them for more troops, upgrading buildings and doing research, because they will be safe from getting looted by enemy troops when they’re unclaimed. Use them to rebuild and regroup after you get attacked. Even better, if you are trying to build your army and you have no protection left, hide your troops and use the quest winnings whenever you get looted.

You can attack wilds to increase your resource production, but another easy target is abandoned castles, or castles that used to be run by players who have been banned from the game. They will constantly generate resources, but they will never have any troops to guard them (look for high level castles with 0 might to figure out which castles this applies to). Attack them generously, especially sending over tons of goblins, goblin carts and other loot carriers so that you can collect insane amounts of resources.
