Nemo’s Reef Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats and Strategies

Nemo’s Reef is a city building game for the iPhone, iPad and Android. It follows the story of Finding Nemo loosely, except instead, you build up your reef with various forms of coral and living plants, as well as other decorations, and attract more fish to take up residence in your underwater city. Each character corresponds in some way with the movie itself, and the game is loaded with dialogue that does the movie justice. Read on for some tips and tricks for Nemo’s Reef!

It seemingly takes forever to get anything done once you get a decent distance into the game, because you have to wait for your living plants to finish getting built, or to collect coins in order to be able to buy new plants and corals. Instead of waiting around, simply go to the settings on your device and set the time ahead. You should need to only set it ahead by a few minutes on order to get most things done, but with some plants you’ll need to set it ahead by an hour or more.

If you need extra coins, go and sell some of the decorations that are in your reef when you start the game, as they are essentially useless, but are worth a lot of money. The blue-tinted algae, for example, is worth 125 coins apiece, and you start out with two of them. The blue seabeds each give you 50 coins if you sell them, and like the algae, there’s also two of these.

However, the best way to get more coins is to combine the time trick with simply building as many living plants which produce coins as you can. Usually, you’re going to have a huge stock of algae and no use for it for quests, so fill up your reef with these coin producers to make the game go by much more quickly.

Don’t spend your pearls on speeding anything up, since you can, of course, do the time trick. However, if you already have or if you just want more pearls, go to the resource shopping screen and you’ll find ways to get free pearls if you don’t want to spend real money on them.
