Welcome to the top five Throne Wars tips and tricks! Click here to go back to the number 6 through 10 tips and tricks for the game.
5) Have more than one settlement.
It takes a couple of steps to do this. First, you have to go to your castle and research Administration. If your tech level is not high enough for this, then upgrade your castle and do other forms of research in the castle to increase it. Then, find a blank spot somewhere on the outer map and set up a settlement on the spot.
4) Upgrade Counter-Espionage as high as you can.
This allows you to detect spies or attackers, and thus to be ready for attacks. This especially works for if you have multiple settlements, because you can send your armies over from all of your settlements to defend the one that is going to be attacked; or, if your army is still small, you can send them from the targeted settlement to another settlement to avoid them getting killed by the other player.
3) Cart your resources from a targeted settlement to an untargeted settlement.
You need to have at least two settlements that are very close to each other for this one, but once you buy the market and train up a bunch of carts, use them to cart resources from a settlement that is being targeted for an attack, to a safe settlement. Then, when other players attack, they will get no resources, making the attack completely pointless on the part of the attacker.
2) Capture an enemy hero in order to earn more silver.
How does this work? Your enemy hero, when captured, will be held in one of the cells inside the City Guard. You will be able to put a price on them, which will then prompt the kingdom who lost the hero to come and pay the price for the hero. However, don’t set the price too high, or they will not pay. The rarer the hero, the higher the price will be.
1) Join up with an alliance.
Joining an alliance has all of the same benefits as having multiple settlements, except multiplied. You and your alliance members can send each other resources and troops, in order to back each other up, and even make plots to band together and take out other alliances’ members one by one. Alliance play is as deep as it gets in Throne Wars.
