Welcome to part three of the CSR Classics beginner’s guide! Click here to go back to part 2 of the guide.
Your garage is where the real fun happens. You can upgrade the NOS, as previously mentioned, to add nitrous to your car, giving you an extra boost midrace. Upgrade your exhaust, your carburetor and your engine to upgrade your horsepower. Restore the car to improve it’s appearance and to reduce the weight, thus increasing its speed and quickness. Upgrade the gearbox to rev faster and shift faster, which, believe it or not, has one of the biggest effects on your times. Upgrade the rims and tires to improve your traction and to improve the appearance of the wheels.
Each time that you upgrade the car, you’ll see the car’s overall rating improve. You can find the rating at the top center of the screen, right next to the tier. There are five stages of each upgrade (in addition to each upgrade’s stock form). Upgrading your car to the top level in every single category will not only earn you an achievement, but will guarantee that your car is now faster and quicker than the boss’s car, even in the bonus race for the boss car.
Go to the customize area, and you can change the color of the car, as well as sticker it with decals and add a custom license plate to it. The plate has no benefit, but is more for fun. The paint shop allows you to change the color of your car for free. Decals allow you to not only sticker the car with vinyl designs, but you’ll earn bonus cash after every single victory for your decals. Some decals will earn you a few hundred extra cash, while some (the ones which cost gold to buy) will earn thousands of extra cash per race.
Every so often your boss will pop up with a deal on a car after a race. Check out the dealership to see if you have enough cash or gold for it – the “unloved” version of the car will usually cost cash, while the “loved” version will cost gold. She’ll also pop up often with ad videos that can earn you one free gold per view.
That’s all for CSR Classics! Enjoy the game!
