When you are playing in any stage where the goal is to destroy the enemy base, it’s best to send your Einherjar forward ahead of you and let them do all of the dirty work. Sometimes, depending on the stage, you will be able to simply stay at the beginning and allow them to kill all of the enemies and destroy the base. Usually, all that you have to do for these stages is to hit switches and deactivate booby traps in order to allow them to pass easily.
For the base defense stages, again, step back and allow your Einherjar to take the hits for you. Usually, you will want to send in your warriors and lancers, because they are the cheapest and easiest to replenish, and they can take a lot of damage before they die. Sometimes, though, you will want to send in your Valkyries, because they will be strong against certain types of enemies.
Sure, there will be certain missions where the game tells you that in order to earn a star, you have to beat the mission in a certain amount of time. Go back to these missions later, after you have powered up some. Don’t worry about the time limit for now. Take all of the time you need in order to beat these stages.
When a large crowd of enemies appears on a stage, one of the best ways to deal with them is to place your finger on the screen and move it in circles, touching each enemy. Each time you touch an enemy, you will attack them, so the circle method is a great way to dash from enemy to enemy, dealing with large amounts of damage to each one without taking very many hits.
Save up your runes instead of using them to upgrade your armor and your hammer. They are much better used upgrading your Einherjar, which can have a much bigger impact on your game. Also, save them up so that you can buy different and better armor and hammers later on when you unlock them.
Use your ISO-8 to upgrade your overall attack, defense, health, and speed in the skills section is well. These upgrades will transfer over to any hammers or armor that you buy later on in the game. In fact, the stronger the hammer or armor, the more effective these upgrades will be.
