This Means WAR! – Tips and Cheats: The Strategy Guide

This Means WAR! is a new real time strategy game for the iOS platform, and is surely soon to hit the Android platform as well. Your goal is to invade enemy bases while at the same time repelling their attempts at invading your base. You do this by using a combination of troops for attacks, gun towers for defenses, and brains. Read up on some tips and tricks for This Means WAR!

Defensewise, you have a lot of different defensive towers available to you at the beginning of the game, and the attacks start right after your shield runs out, so you should build as fast as possible. You do begin the game with a three day shield, so as much as possible, use all three of those days to your advantage to max out your defenses.

For attacking, you will initially have a few less options; however, build a War Factory and you will be able to start training heavy machinery. Once you hit Command Center level 4, you will be able to build an Aircraft Factory as well. Diversify your troops in order to make it easier to win battles against both other players and against the Lone Star Republic.

Train troops based on strengths. For example, grunts don’t deal much damage but they have a lot of health for being so cheap. Rocket troops do far more damage and are long range attackers but have less health. Hackers are very powerful but more expensive. Snipers have low health but high attack and range. Hijackers do a ton of damage by hijacking enemy buildings. And the game changes even more once you get vehicles and aircraft into it.

Attacking friends is one of the most lucrative pastimes in this game. You have the chance to win not just supplies and red mercury, but power cells as well, which are the premium resource of this game and can be used to buy a third engineer or speed things up. Add people on Facebook if you have no friends who play the game. You can find them on the comments here, on Facebook pages for the game, and more.

Need to drop your medals (which are how your fights are organized by difficulty)? Fight another player and send in one troop, then quit the battle. Redo this over and over again until your medals are low enough. Then you can use that extra time with the medals at a low level to allow your resources, red mercury, and other goodies to slowly build up.
