Best Fiends – Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Best Fiends is a new iPhone and iPad puzzle RPG by Seriously, a studio comprised of Rovio veterans who had their hands in the Angry Birds franchise and in the transition from mobile game to international brand. This game has been designed with that kind of growth in mind – seriously, they hired Heitor Pereira (of Despicable Me fame) to compose the soundtrack for it. Your goal is to battle against the evil slugs for control of Minutia, while collecting diamonds and meteor mites. Read on for some tips and tricks for Best Fiends!

You have energy in this game, and when you run out of energy you either have to wait for it to be restored or purchase more of it using diamonds. An alternative is simply to set the time ahead in the date and time settings for your iPhone or iPad, then go to the game and your energy will be restored. Then you can set the time back to normal and the energy will still be there when you go back to the game again.

Or if you sign into Facebook you can get energy from your friends who play the game, and you can get 30 free diamonds for it as well. Other ways of finding free diamonds include popping a combo next to them on the stage, which enables you to collect the diamond, and to unlock one of the boxes that you need a key to unlock.

A quick and easy way to find more characters is to first, save up nine of those keys, and then use all nine of them at once on the same set of boxes, because whenever a new character becomes available to unlock, it will take up one of the boxes. Other boxes will contain gems and meteor mites, with (usually) one box each containing a meteor mite jackpot.

Finish slugs as quickly as possible by making big combos with the characters whose attack power is the highest. The characters correspond to color – for example, Temper is green, Tantrum is red, Howie is blue, Kwincy is yellow and Brittle is purple. Start knocking off a bunch of every color but the strongest one, to set up for a gigantic combo, and then the huge combo will do loads of damage.

When you do more than enough damage to kill a slug, and there are more slugs left over, then you will damage the slug that hasn’t even shown up yet, so there is no wrong time to use one of your gigantic combos.

Oh, and when you open and unlock boxes, every so often you can also find a permanent energy increase. These are not guaranteed to show up in a grouping of boxes though – it’s down to dumb luck in this case.
