Raging Dragons is a new casual RPG for the iOS and Android platforms. The card battling, character collection and weapon collection system in this game is standard fare for mobile RPGs, but unlike most, the battle system in this game actually requires you to do something – in fact, it’s somewhere between fighting game and Secret of Mana as far as the battling, making it something completely unique on the platform. Read on for some tips and tricks for Raging Dragons!
Building a smart party of weapons is a good thing (all of your cards are different weapons that can be equipped on your one character). Each card has an element. Red beats green, green beats yellow, yellow beats blue and blue beats red. Light and dark (purple and black) beat each other. Keep elemental advantages in mind against all enemies but especially against the toughest ones.
This is in addition to keeping weapon types in mind, too. You can use swords, bows, staffs and hammers, and more, and whichever weapon you should use depends on the type of enemy you face I.E. if you are facing off against a flying enemy, a bow and arrow is going to be the most effective weapon. Usually, though, especially against high level enemies, the rarity of a weapon will be the biggest difference. The rarest weapon almost always does the most damage.
Make sure to use the guard at just the right time in order to blunt damage from an opponent. Often you will have to time them in order to get it right initially, but after that the pattern should be easy to guess. If you hit defend at the exact time that the attack comes, you’ll parry the blow, causing your enemy to be left vulnerable to a critical attack.
As far as attacks go, wait about a second for your hero to charge her attack to do the most damage at once. However, if you rapidly tap attack you’ll do smaller damage per hit, but land far more hits, potentially making your overall battle effort go by faster. This especially works when you’re trying to get as many hits in as possible before the enemy monster attacks.
Collect Gira and Arma to be able to temper and ascend (or “Acend”) your weapons. Tempering allows you to sacrifice any unneeded weapons to level up your choice weapon, while making the sacrificed weapons disappear forever. Ascending requires very specific materials but will change the form of the weapon.
