Dungeon Hunter 5: Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Strategies

Dungeon Hunter 5 is Gameloft’s latest entry into the famed dungeon-crawling series for the iOS and Android platforms. The gameplay has been stripped down to its core, with much of the excess fluff removed in favor of excellent graphics and hack-and-slash fun, along with a tower invasion-style mode called Strongholds. Read on for some tips and tricks for Dungeon Hunter 5!

At the beginning of the game, you get a choice of one out of five weapons: A greatsword, which is slow but powerful with a long melee range. A glaive, which is moderately fast with moderate range and moderate speed and power. Dual blades, quick with short range. A crossbow and a staff, both of which are ranged weapons. Pick based on what style you prefer but don’t fret too much about what you choose. You can always pick any of the other five weapon types later on as you earn new equipment

As before, you can equip your character with a whole host of weapons, armor and accessories. The nice thing, too, is that instead of having to change them all out one at a time, you can set custom loadouts that can be equipped or unequipped all at once. As you find equipment that you like that fits one stage better than another, be sure to change your custom loadouts to suit various different levels.

One of the new features is that you can call in friends to help you finish any level that is too difficult to finish yourself, so be sure to make a lot of in-game friends. If you connect Facebook, a good tip is to connect it to a dedicated gaming account, then join Dungeon Hunter 5 fan groups. Or look for people in the comment box at the bottom of this article who are looking for friends to add.

Grind for new equipment if you need some fusion fodder. It’s generally suggested to go for the hardest stages that you can consistantly beat, because the more difficult stage, the better the equipment will be that said stage will generally provide. This does not always ring true but generally it’s a good rule of thumb to follow. Since there are different difficulty ranks per stage, switch difficulty levels as needed for better rewards upon victory.

Strongholds can earn you a ton of equipment, as well as coins and quartz. Stamina regulates how often you can play this, and every time that you gain an experience level, you will get a full recharge for free. After you run out of stronghold stamina, go to the single player mode to earn more experience points. Try to run out all of your stamina before gaining a level so that you can get your money’s worth (or lack thereof) when you get the level-up recharge.
