Dungeons And Dragons Neverwinter Game - Custom World

Awesome Experience Playing The Game

Wow! It really has been awhile since I played the game, but it was an awesome experience when I did. Back when I first played in my earlier years of life, I got so obsessed with that dungeons and dragons computer game that I bought all the expansions. It was an ultimate excitement for me.

Why did I get so addicted to it? Well, I will tell you it had nothing to do with the story of the single player games. I am not saying that playing in single player mode was a bad a experience. It was indeed fun and helped me learn the basics of the game. No, I loved building my own campaigns and adventures. This applied to both Neverwinter Nights 1 and Neverwinter Nights 2.

Huge Custom Worlds

I build worlds so huge and amazing that players would come by the hoards trying to getting into my server. You want to know my big secret? It had nothing to do with just the size or that is was unique. Believe me. My game was definitely different.

No the secret to making a good world in a medieval setting is giving the players a challenge. The multiplayer setting I had was not like a game you may find on Facebook or some app on a phone. No, when I make a game it is meant for those who love high difficulty levels.

Did I start out my game sessions like that? No, originally I had it set up with easy to fight monsters and some pathetic quests to do. It was still big and creative but way to easy. Let me change that. It was hard for low level characters, but way to easy for high level characters.

Time For A Change

I had people coming in with hacked armor and other cheats for items. Yes, a lot of the players loved to come in with altered equipment that they created from outside the game so they could slaughter all foes and even my own townsfolk I worked hard on creating. When they got bored, they starting beating each other up.

I was like hold on this is ridiculous. There has to be a change somewhere along the line. So I shut down my server connection for the world and changed the campaign around to make it ridiculously hard to defeat the villains as well as the city guards.

Secrets of the Villain

The secret is to give the npc's tons of immunities and only one weakness. So I put my villainous in there who became their personal favorite. She had the image of a female child who is sweet and innocent. Once provoked the sky turns dark, she becomes evil, and a red circle forms around her. Yes, I was pretty good at doing scripting with the first Neverwinter Nights.

Yes, those were the good old days. The only thing left that I can hope for is the game being brought back to the light of day again. I still have the box on a shelf in my closet. They did focus on Neverwinter Night 2 for awhile but it had a few bugs in it for custom world creation, so I stopped playing that eventually.

Missing Neverwinter Nights

No, Neverwinter Nights 1 was where all the action was at. Sure there are other games out there that are classics such as Baldur's Gate, but nothing beats the first Neverwinter game out there made especially for the pc.

If you have any suggestions or how I can use the game for server purposes again someday, let me know by leaving me a comment or shooting me a message via email. I would greatly appreciate it.
