Michael Jackson The Experience Review For Kinect

A game for Michael Jackson fans of all ages. Even after death Michael Jackson comes to be part of his fans’ lives. Michael Jackson the Experience will give you an experience like no other dancing game out there. Not only will you dance as MJ but you will also sing his best songs too.

You will be showcased as Michael Jackson himself as your image actually gets projected into the game as the MJ silhouette. You follow along to the backup dancers moves and portray Michael Jackson as you sing and dance.

Each song has its own theme with a personalized stage set from the songs video. In the background behind the dancers the clips from the actual songs video plays.

Learning the dances is a bit difficult if you are a beginner dancer. You can learn your dance moves from the MJ school or in practice mode. MJ school goes through about 30 videos with professional choreographers and backup dancers. However the instructors move very fast and do not repeat the steps.

In practice mode you can break down the songs into shorter versions but again there is no way to slow it down or repeat the steps until you have mastered them unlike in other dance games.

Then you will move into the playing mode of Michael Jacksons The Experience. There are 3 modes of play to choose from. Dance where you simply dance. Performance where you alternate in between dancing and singing. And master performance, this is simply a harder version of performance mode.

There is a multiplayer player mode. This is where the game actually gets to be a fun party game. You can play with up to 4 players taking turns. You will compete for the highest score. You can play competitively all going against each other or you can play as teams going against each other.

A great feature for some and not so much for others is the fact that there is no leveling up or having to pass anything to unlock another. All the songs and dances (approx 30 in gameplay) are available to do the first time you put your Michael Jackson The Experience game in your Kinect to play it making it a great party game.

This is appealing to me for the party appeal. While you do gain points for doing the dances and singing correctly there are just that, points for keeping score that’s it. Just dance, sing and have fun.

Dance as Michael Jackson himself, sing along to his best songs, and learn to dance his moves. You will have a blast with Michael Jackson The Experience. This Kinect dance game may not be much of a workout or compare to other dance games but it is an awesome party game.
