Starcraft 2 Top Zerg Strategies For Beginners

As a novice Starcraft 2 player, you need to learn how to attack and defend in order for you to survive in the game as the Zerg. There are a few races you can use to play the game. Some beginners find the Zerg race easy to play with due to their mechanics. It is important however that you learn some of the top Zerg strategies so as to excel in the game.

Starcraft 2 is all about conquering your enemies. So you must endeavor to overcome your enemies, no matter what race they are using. To do this, you must use efficient strategies that not only surprise your enemy, but also deal them a big blow from which they cannot recover. The strategy you use should also be difficult to scout and predict. This prevents your enemy from knowing how to counter it. Moreover, you can benefit from your enemies weaknesses which depend on the type of race they are using.

The strategies are usually divided into a few categories. They are early-game, mid-game and late-game strategies, which are normally applied after you are done developing your initial build order.

One of the commonly known Zerg strategies involves the use of Baneling Bombs. This strategy comes in handy when dealing with Terran players or sometimes even Protoss opponents. They are very effective against lighter targets, which most Terran players would normally use as part of their army. This strategy is easy in concept but hard in practice.

The first thing you need to do is morph many Banelings in a location that your opponent will not scout. Next, load the Banelings into Overlords that have been upgraded to transport units, and move them close to the battlefield. Use your other units to start the attack and send the Overlords from the side as the battle progresses.

The Banelings will be dropped directly on top of the opposing army therefore there will not be any hindrance from the other units. This strategy is difficult to execute but can be devastating. It is advisable that you produce more Overlords, so that you can use them to act as bait for the loaded ones and also to ensure that you do not get supply blocked.

Always check whether your overlord speed is upgraded before launching an attack, and beware of spread out ground units such as Marines. This is because dropping the Banelings on them will lead to more problems, since the Marines will use their DPS to kill them in a blink of an eye.

Another strategy is using the Nydus Network to har[censored] your opponents. This strategy can be very effective against all races provided that it is executed properly. It is a common answer to the po[censored] r Protoss strategy of building just one massive army and then sending it out. Protoss armies work best when attacking in one big group and so are not usually split up. Therefore, Protoss players usually attack one place at a time. This is one of their natuarl weaknesses, and you should capitalize on it a lot as the Zerg.

One of the best ways to do this is by using two Nydus Networks to attack two places at once. This will usually force the protoss player to sacrifice one of those locations in order to save another. Through this, you can slowly conquer their territory and emerge the winner.
