To the south lies the town of Ashwick, controlled by Gerhart. You want to capture it as soon as possible because:
- Each week that passes, Gerhart will recruit more units in that town, thus making it harder to conquer
- The mines in the area produce resources for Gerhart and you won't be able to gain full control of them until the city is liberated.
You cannot attack the town from the north. Instead, head go around it, passing through a narrow canyon. Stop by the rally flag as well as the observatory on the way. The Rally Flag raises leadership by 5 and destiny by 5 for the next combat and grants some extra movement points. Can be visited once before combat. The observatory will reveal surrounding area for free.
Head into the town and attack. The forces there shouldnt pose much of a threat for you and you should be able to capture the town with very little casualties. After you conquer it, convert the town to your faction.
When the next turn comes, start building in your city. We recommend you first upgrade to a town hall and then to city hall. Then build a marketplace. This will give you some good gold income. The marketplace will also let you trade for other resources you need that will be required for different buildings.
For your next skill, as you level up, we recommend choosing Reinforcements I which will go well with the previous skills and traits we chose. With Reinforcement I you can target your orcs and increase the stack size temporarily.
You might be attacked at this point by Karloff, one of Gerhart's heroes. So be prepared.
Head to the Barracks to the East and conver that too, for more source of troops. The stronghold dwelling recruits additional creatures to your army. They will report to your town's recruiting offices.
Try to build a Basic fortification in your town before the week ends. This will add some defense to it as well as increase creature growth by 1.
When new week begins, go to your town to recruit the new forces. Also, at this point, build a hall of heroes and hire an additional hero which can serve as transportation getting new recruits from the town to the main hero, so that your main hero does not need to waste time going back to town anymore. Remember, Gerhart is also raising his army, so the more time it takes until you go up against his heroes, the harder the fight will be.
An additional hero can also help with exploration and picking up more resources.
