Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Walkthrough Part 38 – The Final Journey to Faron Woods
There is no true order to these events, you can dive to whichever you would choose. Faron Woods offers the most challenge though as there is one more attempt from the Imprisoned, Demise, to break out before this neck of the quest is complete. When you dive into the portal for the Faron Woods, Fi will inform you that most of the woods are inaccessible for reasons unknown. You can only dive to two places, the Sealed Grounds and Behind The Temple. Dive to the Sealed Grounds to see what has been happening. Now everything just goes south.
Imprisoned, Round Three
This fight actually will have phases. In the beginning of the fight, just handle it like you were for the last one, dive down, swipe at the toes, destroying them, pelting the Imprisoned with bombs from the Groosenator when it is armed.
For the second hit, you will need to hit a flying Imprisoned. It will grow a halo and take to the sky. You can only hit it with the Groosenator now and be ready to drive rthe Sealing Spike in with Link once it crashes back into earth. It moves slowly, which is not a bad thing here.
For the final hit, it will grow the black halo again. Unfortunately, it crashing down has cutt off Groose from his Bomb Flower plant. This means an alternative type of ammunition is needed, namely Link. Rush your way up to the top and over to Groose. Just will likely make it with only a little time to spare. Aim for the head area and launch. Link will sail onto the top of the Imprisoned's head.
Hit the sealing spike with another Skyward Strike then follow with the slashes. Now head up and over to the Sealed Temple. Inside talk with the Priestess and Groose to learn more about what is going on. Groose will offer you a “lift” into Faron Woods. Just head back out to the Groosenator waiting outside.
When you arrive in the woods, you will see just how extensive the flooding is. Head over to the Kikwi Elder who is close by to learn a little more. Dive down and go into the Great Tree at the base. Swim up to the one bridge inside above water. You will meet Faron again. She has one final test for you to complete then she will give you the melody you are after. There are approximately seventeen groups of Tadtones now strewn throughout the woods. Take a moment and visit Skyloft to get the water breathing potion to make this whole thing significantly easier, especially if you power it up. Below is a listing of the groups in a collection order, not by their note location, starting at the base of the steps for the white temple building in the northeast of Faron Woods.
Group 1
Dive down into the water and head for the base of the steps leading to the white temple in the area.
Group 2
Head forward, under the temple overhang to find the next group. Start at one end of the overhang and swim through it, collecting each of the tadtones. Be mindful of the explosive burrs that litter the area. If you are having trouble collecting them, then use the spinning charge to just suck them into you.
Group 3
Head up and to the left, you will see a Froak swimming nearby this group. Spin through the circle to collect them all at once.
Group 4
Head along the stairs to the back part of the white temple.
Group 5
Swim over to the circle with the circle around it, on the right of the Great Tree. Swimming around the base of that tree you will find the next set of Tadtones.
Group 6
Swim up and to the right of the last group, looking at the wall, following the vines. You will find a Froak nearby a pile of rubble. Spin attack into it to get it to land into the rubble and free the Tadtone.
Group 7
Continue to the south now, past the root, now head down to the ground. Look on either side of the path in the grass to find the two tadtones that make up this measure. You need to line up and spin attack from one to the next to effectively collect them.
Group 8
Head a little south of the last group and wait. This is nearby the sloping root you could climb up on to. A group of four tadtones will come by. A well time Spin attack or two will collect them all for you.
*About this time, a group of “Scary Fish”, , will appear. They will only attack when he gets closer to the surface. As long as you stay in the depths these monsters will leave you be.
Group 9
Swim along the bottom, toward where you spot to Kikwis using the map. Below them, at the bottom of this “lake”, in the grass you will find another pair of Tadtones.
Group 10
Head south, toward the archway ahead of you. There is a long chain of Tadtones to collect here. If you mess up, it is best to head all the way to either enough of the path and start again. The tadtones are all relatively close to the bottom so just follow along with them and use the spin attack to easily collect the bunch.
Group 11
Head to ascend the east now that you have finished that bit of collecting. You will find another chain of Tadtones, thankfully, not as long as the last one. Head through the short passage spinning to collect the bar note of them
Group 12
Continue to the east, toward the circular part of the path. Head into the hollow tree just to the east of that and collect the Tadtone that is spinning madly at the base of it. This is where the Kikwi elder was.
Group 13
Head out of the hollow tree, to the south and drop to the path. Swim east, toward the area where you could walk under the roots. You will find floating burrs but also four tadtones.
Group 14
Head a little to the south, toward where you can access Lake Floria. You will find a school of four tadtones making a circuit in that area, going in a large circle as you would if you were walking it.
*The Kikwi Elder will have asked you to surface now. If you go and talk with him, he enables you to dowse for the Tadtones. If you are having a hard time following the descriptions here, it is a great boon. There is also a group of Tadtones right underneath the Kikwi Elder...
Group 14
This assumes you surfaced and spoke with the elder. They are just to the right of him. Dive in and spin through them to collect the lot.
Group 15
Head back down to the bottom and go to the west of the Kikwi Elder. Head to where you fought the group of Bokoblins for the Kikwi. Head low and spin around the large circle to collect all of the tadtones here.
Group 16
Head a bit west, toward the underwater entrance of the Great Tree. Head to where the pond would pass under the Great Tree root. There you will find a Tadtone waiting amid a small field of burrs. Use the spin attack to quickly collect it.
Group 17
Head into the underwater entrance of the Great Tree and use to return to the save statue. Head along the path to the left. Kill the Bokoblins and head to the point where the path sticks out a bit. Jump from there onto the lily pad below to reveal the final Tadtone.
As soon as you collect them all, a cutscene runs. Now head to the next lilypad to the east. There you will find two Peahats floating nearby. Use the Clawshots to quickly climb them and get back inside the Great Tree. Talk with Faron to finish this quest out and complete the Faron Part of “Song Of The Hero”.
