Mass Effect 3 Walkthrough Part 68: Priority: Thessia Part 2

After the Banshee battle, don’t neglect to search the area for items. You will be able to find two Med Kits to refill your supply, the first towards the middle of the left wall, and the second to the right, under the roof. Grab them and proceed up the steps that the Banshee came from to head inside of the ruined building. Search the terminal to the side to get a few credits, and then continue onward. You will be led to a door. Head through here and you will come out onto a balcony. The Reapers will begin to advance as you run out of the building.

You will be met with a few Cannibals when you walk down the steps into the next courtyard. Shoot them quickly, and your attention will be drawn towards an asari sniper on the ridge ahead. She won’t see you, yet. Sprint across the courtyard. As you run, a rocket will hit the sniper’s perch and her allies will fall, dead. After the rocket hits, search the right side of the courtyard to find a ramp that leads up to a balcony. Here, on the ground, you will find the Shotgun High Caliber Mod and a Med Kit. Climb back down the ramp at walk up the other makeshift ramp formed by the debris from the blast to reach the sniper. She will be lamenting the fact that she hasn’t seen you yet when you walk up. She will invite you to take whatever equipment you need at help her defend her position. Take her up on that offer, as there is plenty of useful stuff scattered about the sniper’s perch. Grab the M-98 Widow Sniper Rifle and the Sniper Rifle Concentration Mod, along with the ammo and the Med Kit from the boxes to the sniper’s left.

This will trigger a group of Marauders and Cannibals to rush out below you. Use the Sniper Rifle to aim down on the enemies. Aim for the Barrier Engine near the center of the lower area first. From here, you are free to take the enemies out with headshots. After they are all dead, climb down to the lower floor and run through the hole in the wall. Keep to the left, and you will encounter one asari soldier. She will call in an airship to cover you as you make your way towards the asari temple. Take cover at the far end of the battlefield, and then wait for the gunship to pick off most of the toughest opposition. Lean out of cover and clean up after the gunship.

Run to the top of the pile of debris. Search the ground to the right to find the Assault Rifle Extended Barrel Mod. Pick it up and run towards the entrance of the temple. A wave of Husks will charge you here. Take them out quickly before they can reach you. As you run forward, two Harvesters and a group of Ravagers will land on the walkway and attack you. The gunship will help you out a little here, as well. Stay behind cover and let the gunship to its work until it can do no more, popping out periodically to fire at the enemies. You will have to destroy a Barrier Engine if you want to have even a remote chance of winning this fight. It is located in the center of the rubble.

Each of the enemies is very threatening on its own, not to mention in a group of three. Stay at a distance and pick your shots from cover. Weaken the armor of all of the enemies here, and use Grenades or Concussive Shots to weaken them further. Just focus on staying away from the heavy projectiles, and you should be able to get through this war of attrition easily enough. When the enemies are all dead, head to the entrance of the temple and grab the SMG Heat Sink Mod, as well as the Med Kit right after the entrance to the temple.

Liara will destroy the barrier around the temple when you examine the console to the right. Proceed inside and take a look around. Any one of the numerous artifacts held inside of the temple could be the artifact that will point you to the Conduit. Search every item on display in the temple to hear a unique description from Liara about each one, shedding some light on the history and the religion of the asari peoples. When you have examined all of the objects to your liking, search the giant statue in the back center of the temple. Shepard will sense a Prothean presence here, while your squad-mates will point out that the asari guarding the temple have had their throats slit. Whatever happened here, it wasn’t the work of the Reapers. But that can wait for later. For now, you will need to find several key artifacts that, when activated, will funnel energy to the statue in the center. When you find all of them, the statue will crumble and the artifact will be revealed. Along the way, your squad will question if the Prothean artifact was the cause of the asari’s many advances in technology. The idea will unsettle Liara, who will have a great pride for her people that she does not ruin. You can agree that it was right to hide the technology, or condemn the asari for keeping it hidden.

The first artifact needed to power the statue is the mural all the way to the right. This one will already be activated for you. The second is the manuscript to the left of the statue, the stone head statue to the back right-hand edge is the third, and the shield by the entrance to the temple is the fourth. The statue will crumble under the force of the energy from the various artifacts, and the artifact will be revealed.

A green sphere will emerge from the wreckage of the shattered statue.
