You will have picked this quest up during the events of The Blood Curse, but you probably haven’t taken many steps towards starting it just yet. That’s okay, though, as this walkthrough will cover the best way to complete this quest. Your goal with this quest is to discover the Visionary’s connection to the spot where Sabrina was burned to death, and to find out more information on how to lift the curse from the land.
Along the way to meet up with the Visionary, you will encounter a small group of soldiers in the valleys outside of the camp, trapped in one of the ravines. Depending on which route you take to get to the hut in the ravines, there are actually two possible locations for the soldiers to appear at. Their location will be right in front of whichever path you decide to take, so don’t worry about missing them. They will be struggling against a pack of wild monsters. You can either head over to help them out, or simply let them die. Either way, be sure to head over to the soldiers in the aftermath of the battle. If they are dead, loot them. If they are living, speak with them. You will get the Soldiers Notes and orens. They were supposed to be delivering these to the Visionary when they were ambushed by the monsters. hIf any of the soldiers are alive, you will still receive the orens, so don’t feel the need to let them die out of pure greed. They will give you the orens as a thank-you for saving their lives.
Although the soldiers were too scared to continue on their journey to meet with the Visionary, you will have to press on. The Visionary will be located in a hut up the middle branch of the ravines, shooting up towards the north. Head down whichever path you chose to take and proceed upwards to reach it. Watch out for vicious Harpies along the way. You can either challenge them, or proceed past the border into the next territory, where the Harpies will not bother you. The Harpies will be fairly challenging foes to kill, so watch out for their swift attacks complemented by high mobility if you choose to stay and fight.
Once you reach the Visionary, approach him and speak with him. You will either be praised or chastised for whatever you decided to do with the soldiers. At this point, you will receive the option to either give a donation of 400 orens to the prophet, or to become his follower. If you pay him, the quest will end and you will receive your answers. If you decide to become his follower, the quest will go on and you will find a few interesting perks will stem from associating yourself with the Visionary. Afterwards, he will hand you a special potion that you are supposed to drink before meditation. Do this near Sabrina’s pupils, the lakes to the northeast. Agree to do this, and head northeast towards the lakes. Meditate until 20:00 or later and drink the potion.
This will transport you to a whole new world, one filled with hallucinations. Some of these will be dangerous, so watch your back for an Arachas and several Endregas. In addition to these most basic of enemies, you will have to keep an eye out for slightly stranger foes, as well. (Spoiler) A giant chicken will meet you in the hallucination world, accompanied by massive mushrooms. Run towards the hen and you will appear suddenly at the top of the hill. (End Spoiler.) After transporting to the hilltop, turn around and search the area behind you to find the Visionary Notes 1 item. Turn around and run back to the Visionary’s hut. Explain to him what, exactly, you just witnessed, if you can make any sense of it yourself. Ask any questions that might be lingering in your mind, and the Visionary will give you answers.
You will finally get a clearer idea of who, exactly, the Visionary really is. (Spoiler) The Visionary will tell you that he is actually a key player when it comes to the death of Sabrina. He used to be called Yahon. Yahon was a fierce soldier, the one who stabbed Sabrina with his spear and allowed her to cast the fireball spell that wiped out so many lives. Having been there himself, he will be able to recount exactly what happened on that day. You will then learn that Yahon’s spear is now in the possession of the relic peddler from before. He will have lied to you about not having it. This will mark the end of The Path To Visionary. (End Spoiler.)
