Dragon Age Origins Walkthrough Part 28 – Brecilian Forest Sidequests, Part 1
Dalish Camp
Talk with Arthras who is well to the east of the camp's entrance. He can be persuaded to tell you why he wishes to enter for the forest. This will give the quest, “Lost to the Curse”. Head North from there to Varathorn. He will give you the quest, “Rare Ironbark”. Press on to the North to find Elora. Talk with her to begin “Elora's Halla”
After that, head to the East to talk with Cammen. He can be intimidated or persuaded to reveal his reason for wanting to hunt in the forest. Talk with him to gain and start “Cammen's Lament”
Cammen's Lament
This quest has multiple outcomes and begins immediately as you talk with Cammen:
You can give him a wolf pelt to claim with good persuasion
Talk with Gheyna for him and persuade her to take him
Seduce either (as a Warden of the opposite gender) and tell the other.
If you opt for the pelt, collect one and head back to camp. He will give you the “Tale of Iloren”. This also yields the codex entry.
Elora's Halla
There are three possible outcomes for this quest. To get the best result, have someone in your party with at least 2 Survival. Have them talk with and calm the Halla. With the survival you can find out that the halla's mate is sick.
You can attempt to use coercion to get her to put the halla out of its misery but this is a touchy route. If you succeed, she will give you the horns. These can be taken to Varathorn who converts them into an amulet. If you fail she refuses to speak to you thereafter and all the other Dalish wonder why you attempted to lie to her.
West Brecilian Forest
After you cross the bridge where you encountered Swiftrunner, head Southeast. There you will find Deygan. He gives the quest, “Wounded in the Woods”.
Rare Ironbark
Head to the Northeastern area. There you will find a fallen tree that you can use. It is guarded by a Wild Sylvan.
Wounded in the Woods
At this point you can either take him back, loot him for equipment, kill him or question him. Pressing him for information, over time, can kill him. Still, it is best to take him back to the Dalish Camp as it will give you the gratitude of the Elves.
Do note that while he is passed out you can loot the body through the dialogue options. This will give you some unique gear and a figurine (this is the same as when you kill him and loot his body). Back in Camp either Deygan or his wife (if you killed Deygan) will ask if you found a figurine. You can either lie and keep the figurine or give it over and receive a Sapphire.
