Dead Island: Riptide Walkthrough Part 51 – Fly Away (Rescue: Base to Signaling)

Things start with a bang here. You will see the door immediately behind the communications console explode open. You have a short while before the undead start coming at you. If you have some grenades or another explosive/incendiary then lob it through the doorway onto the landing. There are at least 2 Infected there that will rush you otherwise. After that start on down the stairs. As you get to the first landing on your way down you will encounter another Walker. Deal with it and continue on downward.

Open the first door that is green-lit on the other side you have more. Clear the room of zombies and turn to the left. There is a grenadier that will start throwing fleshy bombs at you. Kill him then turn to the far right corner of the room. Search around it some to find the Shock Rifle Blueprint. Head into the room the Grenadier came from. Now you have a choice. You can go over to the right, the recommended path, or break to the left and jump the little barricade. It is recommended to go to the left as you will find lots of computers to poke through in addition to gaining access to a Work Bench. This lets you put some of the new upgrades to use. Go to the door opposite the Work Bench and open it

This path offers a second advantage: the zombies that would have otherwise come at you from the front are now be flanked. Use this to tear into them and thin the horde quickly. There is a Thug in this mix so it very important to do so quickly. When you have killed the majority you will have a few additional zombies rush in. Deal with them quickly and head on forward.

The next room is the entry way. You have a single walker between you and the outdoors. Take him down and make for the door itself. Remember to take your time searching the rooms to claim whatever you can find as you make for the outdoors.

When you get outside it is a lot better to just start running. You can easily make it over to the Fast Travel Map. From there you can easily make it back to the Old Town Cinema. Talk to Hardy to trigger the next part of the quest. He wants you to convince Jacqueline to let you burn some of the Film Reels to create a large cloud of smoke so you can signal the helicopter. Head up to the concession stand and talk with her about it. She is not very happy about it but she understands well enough. She will tell you of 2 boxes that you can use. Head into the projection room to grab each of them in turn and run them up to the roof. Once both boxes are up there take a little time to learn the layout of the roof. You are going to need to defend this area in the very near future. Learn where the controls are for the electrical cables, explosive barrels and the mini-gun. When you are ready, light the reels.

Head back down into the theater after Trevor informs you that the fire is drawing in the Undead as well. While down there talk with Jacqueline. This will start another continuous quest, “Better To Forget” where she will accept Keepsake Photos in exchange for money and XP. With this running, you have another source of XP and funds.
