With Kerrigan once more infested, she knows things are going to go poorly once she reaches Raynor. This is not going to stop her from finding him, though. To accomplish this, she has turned to Jim's second-in-command, Matthew, as well as the renegade prince, Valerian Mengsk. Finding James Raynor is going to be a bit of a task, though, and will require hacking the Dominion databases. This means getting ahold of a first-rate hacker, Colonel Orlan. Orlan is currently being held by a rather crazy mercenary commander by the name of Mira Han, though, so the first task is going to be retrieving Orlan.
For this mission, you are given control of the Hyperion, Jim's Battlecruiser. To start off with, you need to take out one of Mira's space stations so you can set up one of your own to operate from. Move forward to the Northeast and you will encounter a small barrier. Fortunately, the Hyperion is capable of short-range warp jumps, which can be used to bypass narrow obstacles like this or to evade incoming attacks. Continue and you'll start encountering clusters of enemy fighters. The numbers are a bit perilous, so follow the suggestion given and use the Hyperion's second ability to scramble a squad of fighters of your own to help you in the combat. You'll face two groups like this before encountering the first of Mira's stations.
This is an ordnanace platform- with a large cannon mounted to it, it can dish out huge amounts of damage at longer ranges than your main batteries will. Thankfully, the Hyperion retains its Yamato Cannon ability, which you can use to take out the platform in one shot while your fighters occupy the enemy ships. Continue to the North to locate another platform and a repair drone that will patch up the Hyperion and provide you with replacement fighters if you pick it up. Once this platform is gone, the game will custcene, moving the map and enlarging it. You will have the new base explained to you as a source of automated fighter squads, and the scene will also highlight the mag-mines that are scattered around the rest of the map. These mines will lock on to a target, then launch towards it in a suicide rush. Thankfully, they target and move slowly enough that the Hyperion can actually dodge them or, in a pinch, jump out of the way.
