The Last Of Us Walkthrough Part 16 – Chapter 3: The Outside (Museum: Rooftop to Capitol Building)

Head on through the window and over to the ledge on the left before the stairs going up. Climb up the ledge then start up the stairs to get to the roof. There you will find a quick cutscene. After that head to the left or right and find one of the planks there. Bring it back to the staircase and interact with the railing to lay it across the gap between the buildings. The trio will cross the building and head down the fire escape back to a lower roof. Go down the 2 sets of stairs then turn to the right and look into the corner there. You will find another Firefly Corpse. Go to the right of him to grab the artifact: “Firefly Orders”. Head into the yard from there. You need some way up to the yellow ledge you can see in the far right corner. Turn around and look in the shadows opposite you to find  a dumpster you can roll into position. Once you do just climb up onto it then the ledge and cross over to the other side. Be sure that you got the artifact first, then drop down.

Joel and company are back on the street now. Just head over to the left after Tess and Ellie. Take a little time to go to the Gazebo that you see in the street. Go into it on the right-hand side. Search around there to find the next Firefly Pendant. After that head for the front door of the Capitol Building. Head straight in and go through the cutscene.

Head to the back of the room on the right and look on the table for crafting supplies. After that head over to the Left-hand side and go on up the stairs. Head over to the left and around to the front of the state house. If you go to the edge you can see Tess once more. After that just head for the room on the right. First Run over to the left and search the desks there for Crafting Items. After that go over to the right and look on the podium to potentially find Supplements. Head over to the hole in the wall and jump over to the next part of the state house.

Go over to the corpse you see around the middle of the room on the pillar. You can get the Hunting Rifle from it then start into the hallway in front of you. Move into a crouch and start going on down it. Now you have a choice. You have 6 bullets in that Hunting Rifle to start and there are at least 2 Soldiers coming at you. You can snipe them or break off into the room on the left. It is recommended to head into the room on the left and save your bullets for now. If you are really good you can get a stealth kill in on one of the soldiers then move toward the main hallway and quickly snipe the one who is standing in front of the doorway.

Head through the door and down the stairs. Pause on the first landing to grab the 2x4 if you are missing a melee weapon. Drop down to the level below after that. Look over to the right to find some Crafting Items then crouch and move behind the display case in the middle of the room. There are 6 more soldiers that are advancing on you: 3 normal, 3 Armored. Once again you have the choice of fighting or sneaking. The display case offers good cover and you can move to the sides easily if you need to get a bit closer for a shot. Get through the Capitol Building and head for the Subway Station across the street.

For sneaking you want to head into either of the side rooms. The one on the right offers the best chance to simply sneak through as it is very dark. Just head inside and hang to the left. The soldiers that can pass through have a high chance of simply overlooking you. After that advance to the front of the building and go into the room on the right. There is a single soldier in this room. Just wait for a chance and take him down quietly. After that, watch the soldiers in the entry way and wait for an opportunity to make it outside. If you have something to throw, do that and use the distraction to make it outside. Head immediately for the subway at that point.
