Plants vs. Zombies 2

While finishing our series of tips for the Frostbite Caves world in Plants vs. Zombies 2, we realized that we never continued our walkthroughs for the Big Wave Beach world. It didn’t take us long to remember why we had stopped in the first place. Level 23 in the Big Wave Beach world has to be one of the hardest stages in the tower defense game. There is not only a lot to pay attention to, but it also requires more active work than many of the other stages in the mobile game. Find out what we mean exactly, as we tell you how to best succeed in this difficult level.

In level 23, your goal is to protect three Banana Launchers from the walking dead. These plants are quite powerful, as they fire explosive bananas at any tile on the lawn at your command. After firing a banana, the plant needs quite a long time to recharge. To demonstrate how powerful this attack is, keep in mind that it only takes three bananas to destroy a Deep Sea Gargantuar. Aside from this ocean behemoth, the level also features Regular, Conehead, and Buckethead Zombies as well as Snorkel, Surfer, Fisherman, and Octo Zombies. Particularly the Fishermen will make this level a tough one to beat.

This is what our lawn looked like at the end of the stage.

In order to defend yourself and your Banana Launchers against the hordes of living dead select Sun-Shrooms, Lightning Reeds, Lily Pads, Tangle Kelps, Bowling Bulbs, and most importantly Guacodiles. Plant at least five Sun-Shrooms in the very beginning of the level. Destroy the first Fisherman Zombie which appears on the second lane from the top. After that, plant a Guacodile in front of each Banana Launcher, but try to not use the bananas just yet. Very soon the first wave of zombies will commence, which will require you to use the precious launchers. Give them green leaves when things get particularly rough.

Always focus on the Fishermen, which will pull your plants towards them if you don't watch out. If you make sure to have a Guacodile in each lane at all times, you should be somewhat well prepared, as the Fisherman will simply activate the Guacodile to dash down the lane destroying any zombie in its path. Luckily, this plant’s recharge time is rather short. Make sure to save your bananas for the second and the final wave of zombies to be able to destroy the Gargantuars. If you have a moment, plant some Lightning Reeds in the back to further defend yourself. Your main task in this level is to be quick and very focused!
