Backstab

(Innate): Shaco deals 20% bonus damage when striking a unit from behind with his autoattacks or abilities.

 

Tips :

A passive that goes well with the champion because you can quickly go behind your targets to destroy them.


Deceive (Q)

(Active): Shaco instantly blinks to a target nearby location and enters stealth for up to 3.5 seconds. His next auto-attack within 6 seconds is guaranteed to critically strike with extra bonus damage.

  • Cooldown: 11 seconds after exiting stealth
  • Range: 500
Tips :

 

An excellent spell that gives you great mobility in the jungle. You can, for example, easy go into the enemy jungle to counter jungle.

It's also an excellent spell to escape. You can brain your opponents be changing direction at the last moment and making use of the invisibility.

But this ability does come with one defence, the critical bonus and damage stacked are very interesting to stomp a weak enemy. Don't underestimate the huge damage that this ability can do, especially if you take a Trinity with Shaco.

Jack In The Box (W)

(Active): Shaco creates a Jack in the Box at the target location with 150 health. It will stealth after 2 second and trigger when an enemy comes near, fearing nearby enemies briefly and attacking them. It deals magic damage, and lasts 60 seconds stealthed or 5 seconds while firing. Casting Jack In The Box breaks stealth.

  • Jack in the Box attack speed: 1.6 (Attacks 8 times in 5 seconds)

Tips :

 

Shaco's famous boxes that have made more than player go crazy. They can be used in many ways.   

You can place several of them before the spawn or re-spawn of a buff in the jungle, before doing it quickly. The fear is quite annoying and when you have enough boxes the damage is pretty highf.

It is a very good way of ensuring vision in the bushes or the enemy jungle for example. In effect, the box gives you limited visibility, less than a ward, wich is not to be ignored. If you place it intelligently you can even control ganks from the enemy jungler in the lanes thats to the fear. 

It is also a very good way of quickly killing an opponent. As for the buffs, putting several boxes in one areas will do huge damage to the poor guy who ventured there.

    Fear Duration: 0.5 / 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 seconds

Two-Shiv Poison (E)

(Passive): Shaco's attacks poison his targets, reducing their movement speed for 2 seconds. It also gives affected non-champion units a chance to miss their attacks.

(Active): Shaco throws a dagger to target enemy dealing magic damage and applying his slowing poison to them for 3 seconds. The passive is deactivated during the cooldown.

  • Cooldown: 8 seconds
  • Range: 625
Tips :

 

It is a very good ability for a gank, especially with good mobility. It applys a good slow on your opponent with the passive, and if he tries to escape, throw a dagger at him to destroy him even at distance.

The ratio is hybrid so you will do some good damage with this.

Hallucinate (R)

(Active): Shaco becomes stealthed and untargetable for half a second then creates a clone of himself that will last for up to 18 seconds. The clone deals 75% of Shaco's damage and receives 50% extra damage. This clone deals 50% damage to towers and inhibitors. At the end of its duration or when dying the clone will explode dealing magic damage to nearby enemies.

Tips :

 

An excellent ultimate but one that is not so easy to master as you have to manage Shaco's famous clone.

It will be very useful for doing the Dragon solo. It significantly increases your damage, even if the clone is not as strong.

You can use it to brain your enemies during a gank/dive by sending the clone first so that it takes all the focus. Even if doesn't usually last very long, it's enough to brain your target, knowing that your clone will explode once it has been destroyed!

It is a good way of escaping an ally a bit stronger than you. But be careful, there are a lot of ways to tell which is the real Shaco and which is the clone. For example, if you have a buff (red, baron or blue), when you use your ultimate your clone will not benefit from it. Similarly if an opponent pings you before you clone yourself, the ping will stay on the real Shaco. I would add that you can also tell judging from the damage that is quickly taken by the clone, so you can easily tell, even if you are using it to escape. 

Another interesting aspect of this ultimate is that you are 'untargetable' for 0.5 seconds when it is activated. If you time it well you can avoid ultimates like those from Karthus or Garen.

Pros

Shaco is a very good jungler, fast and able to gank well

He is a formidable pusher with his ultilmate and his boxes

Huge mobility which will very often leave you free to counter jungle

The box with be an enormous help with map control

Shaco is an excellent 1 v 1 assassin 

Cons

Shaco depends enormously on his early game to be efficient

It is not easy to find his place in a teamfight

Shaco is not an easy champion to take up
