Square Rave guide - How to grab those teal squares and get the highest scores

Square Rave is an awesome little music-oriented puzzle game that smacks of games like Lumines, but with its own unique sense of gameplay.

To help wrap your head around the game, keep the following tips and tricks in mind.

Keep your finger on the screen

Although you can control Square Rave by tapping on the screen, dragging the game cursor around is a much more accurate way of controlling the path your cursor takes between teal squares.

Accuracy is important in this game particularly because moving willy-nilly about the game screen generates red blocks that prevent progress when the rhythm bar moves by.

Avoid large vertical moves

Speaking of blocking paths, the easiest way to end a run of Square Rave is by making vertical moves, as doing so can create an impenetrable wall between you and the next teal square.

Although it's impossible to predict where the next teal squares will appear, avoiding too much vertical movement can help keep your options open.

Don't always try to get all the teal squares

Teal squares contribute to your score, yes, but survival in Square Rave only requires you to be on a teal square before the rhythm bar hits the right side of the screen.

Although it's always tempting to hit all of the teal squares on screen, sometimes it's better to play conservatively and draw a small path to only one or two squares.

Go crazy with paths before hitting a yellow square

Yellow squares will occasionally appear in Square Rave, and their function is interesting. Instead of turning squares from your path red, it turns them into teal squares to be collected.

Keep this in mind, and draw huge, circuitous paths around the screen before hitting the yellow block and you'll have more teal blocks to collect. Plan accordingly!
