About Trivia Crack Kingdoms

Whether you have seen everything Trivia Crack had to offer, or are still playing it daily, you will certainly find countless new features in Trivia Crack Kingdoms. While the general design of the game stays almost the same, there are new gameplay elements introduced from the start.

Firstly, the game has fully revamped its question category system, and instead of forcing you into only six categories of questions, you get to choose your own question channels. Channels are either officially maintained by the developer team, or are created by other players, just like you. At any time during the game you have the option to go to the “Channels” menu, and choose new channels to follow.

Following a channel of a specific subject will mean that questions related to it are added to your questions pool. So if you are interested in Food & Drinks, you can follow the channel, then start a new trivia game including questions related to pizza, baked good, soft drinks and everything in between! But there are channels for almost anything, such as TV shows or cartoons. Do you like Spongebob or Rick and Morty? You can answer questions from those shows, once you followed their channels! You even get a chance to suggest your own questions to each channel, and if they get approved, they will appear in the channel’s questions!

When starting a new game of Trivia Crack Kingdoms, you get the option to either include all of your followed channels’ in the possible questions pool, or choose only one. You then can either decide to challenge one of your Facebook friends, after logging in, or play against a random stranger from around the world.

The second biggest change in the game is the reimagined trivia system. In the original game you had to spin a wheel to randomize the category of your next question, but this time around you have to pick questions from nine boxes. These boxes don’t show their contents until chosen, and each of them will have a colorful trivia character inside. The one character you will want to look for is the King, as answering his question will award you with a Crown, then refresh the board with nine new boxes. To win the game, you have to gather five Crowns before your opponent does.

The second most important character is the Simple question mark, who will require you to answer a question that has four possible answers, while having only 30 seconds to do so. If you succeed, you get another chance at picking a box, and answering another question, until you find the King and refresh the board. In case you were to fail a question, your opponent will get a chance to answer questions until they fail as well. They also pick out boxes from the same table as you do, so they might be able to take a King before you do.

But what if you find a special character in one of Trivia Crack Kingdoms’ boxes? For example you might find the Guide, who will ask you a question, and if you successfully answer it, he will point out two boxes, one of which has the King inside. Then there is the Double, who will ask you two questions instead of one, or his less punishing brother, the 2 of 3 Challenge, who requires you to answer two of his three questions correctly to progress. Then there is the Expert, a character who will ask very hard questions.

Of course you have more exciting ones as well, such as the Ninja, who will help you answer the question by blacking out two wrong answers, or the Pirate, who has three questions for you, but you can win his treasure of coins if you answer all three correctly. You might also encounter the Vampire, who will ask you three questions, and if you answer all of them correctly, you get to steal a Crown from your opponent. The last, but most challenging character is the Queen of Time, who asks you five questions, but if you manage to ace them all, then you get a Crown right away!

Another feature of Trivia Crack Kingdoms is the inclusion of hearts and coins. One heart is lost whenever you start a new game, and it takes an hour to restore one. If you run out of lives, you won’t be able to start new games, but it will still be possible to continue your already started ones. Coins on the other hand are used to activate powerups, of which there are quite a few!

Powerups are grouped into two types, the first being ones that can be activated at the box selection screen. These are called the Vaporize and the X-Ray. Vaporize destroys a box on activation, essentially taking out one that doesn’t hold the King, while the X-Ray shows off a random box’s special content, such as the Ninja or the Guide. The second type of powerups are the ones that appear during questions, including Extra Time, Bomb, New Question and Skip. Extra Time gives extra time to answer the question, obviously, while the Bomb blacks out two wrong answers, New Question resets the current question and Skip allows you to skip it outright.

While you can win a few coins by doing well at answering questions, doing the Pirate challenge or completing achievements, the game also has a few in-app purchases to get you more coins. Trivia Crack Kingdoms sells packs ranging from the cheapest 10 coins for $0.99, up to the most expensive 1300 coins for $99.99 pack. You also have the option to buy a Life Extension of 5 extra lives for $4.99, or to unlock Endless Lives for $29.99.

There are also static or video ads shown everytime you fail a question, which can be quit out of after a few seconds, but can’t be disabled.

Cheats & Tips for Trivia Crack Kingdoms

Trivia Crack Kingdoms has a great number of cheats available to its players, so you will certainly not have too much trouble in winning quite of a few games with their help. Let me explain and show you a few of these cheats, as well as give you tips to make your experience even smoother!

If you truly want to cheat at the game and be unfair to your opponents, then you will have to utilize one of our age’s biggest cheats: Google! All you have to do is wait for your question to appear, then quickly do a Google search related to the question’s topic. For example, if your question is “Who was the 19th president of the United States?”, you should search for “19th president” to get the fastest results. Don’t even click on links, just see what the search brings up, your answer will definitely be there.

While Google can make the game super easy at times, you might still want to consider using the inbuilt powerups. I personally recommend using the Bomb, which will black out two wrong answers, making your chance a lot better at 50 percent. If you are truly clueless though, then consider replacing the question or skipping it entirely. The Extra Time powerup can also be quite useful though, especially when your Googling takes longer than expected. Powerups like the Vaporizer and X-Ray cost more than what they are worth though, so I would advise you avoid them.

If you can’t answer a lot of questions you come across, then consider playing games that will only include questions from a single channel you are familiar with. This will make sure you only get asked questions that you will probably know, but it will also take away some of the challenge.

As for gathering more coins in Trivia Crack Kingdoms, you should look out for the Pirate challenge at all times, which if you manage to complete will award you with a nice sum of coins. Achievements are also a good source of coin income, although not all of them are easy to complete. Winning games is another option, although losing a game will also give out a few coins, based on how many crowns you had.

Trivia Crack Kingdoms Review

Trivia games are a great exercise of your brain, and if presented in a friendly and fun way, they can even be a great source of enjoyment! Trivia Crack Kingdoms changes the formula of the original Trivia Crack, but retains the happy outlook and the challenging questions, which was more than enough to excite me to play it!

I found the game to have an incredibly easy to use interface, and every feature’s purpose is simple to understand. The Play menu lists all current ongoing matches, while there is a separate menu for Chats, Friends, finding new Channels and to check my Profile, which even lists my won and lost games, and also my correct answers overall, along with my unlocked achievements.

The new option of choosing channels that I’m interested in is a great feature, especially since there are so many channels already that anyone can find something they will enjoy. I added a lot of TV series to my channels list, as well as things like History, Industry and Art to make my questions pretty random, but still tricky at times.

As for the general trivia gameplay, the new feature of the nine boxes to replace the wheel is a welcome addition in my opinion. I really enjoyed picking boxes and finding random characters inside, ready to challenge me. Things like the Ninja, which is like a free powerup, or extreme challenges like the Queen of Time were unique and fun moments, no matter if I succeeded or failed them.

The way turns are passed on from player to player is also an interesting way to do things, especially since you get notifications when you are ready to take your turn again. When I finally got an opponent who was playing constantly until the end, that was the most fun I had in the game, full of exciting questions. There are times when people don’t react in long hours though, which can be a little disappointing, but the new game feature is there for this reason.

Probably the only problems I had with Trivia Crack Kingdoms were the number of ads and the limitation of hearts. Ads can be a little annoying, as they are sure to appear anytime you fail a question, but if you manage to win a lot, then you won’t have to deal with as much. Hearts on the other hand feel like an unneccesary. Still, it’s not a huge issue, as you can start 5 different games before having to wait for more.

Overall, Trivia Crack Kingdoms is a satisfying trivia game, full of customization options on what you want your questions to be about. The inclusion of the many challenges, randomness and powerups create a thought provoking and entertaining game!

Ratings

Artwork: The artwork of Trivia Crack Kingdoms gets an 8/10 from me. The cheerful and cartoon-like artstyle familiar from the original game still works out just as well as before. The game also features a fairly simple menu design, which presents a smooth experience.

Music & SFX: As for SFX, the game gets a 7/10. This game is not known for its music, as there is none of it. It’s suprisingly not an issue though, as somehow the quiet menus fit the design very well. When picking boxes and answering questions, the SFX is apparent though, with short button effects and chimes that make you feel good after answering correctly.

Story & Originality: As for the originality of the game, it deserves a 8/10. Trivia games have existed for a really long time, but the way they are imagined can be the difference between their success. Trivia Crack Kingdoms presents the challenging trivia in such a style that it easily stands its ground among and above similar games.

General Gameplay: I give the general gameplay an 9/10. The numerous challenges, the randomness of choosing boxes and the powerups create a trivia experience close to unmatchable. But what truly sets this apart from others is the option to choose your own channels and subjects, which helps personalize the whole game to your liking. Ads can get in a way at times, but the joy of the gameplay outweighs them.

Addictiveness: For its addictiveness, the game gets a 8/10 from me. There might be some small issues here and there, but the amount of replayability presented by the hundreds of channels can easily last any player for a long time. The gameplay is also fluid, but challenging enough, that it just asks to be played again!

Overall Score: 8/10.
