Asphalt Overdrive Cheats, Tips, and Hack for Gold & Cars

Asphalt Overdrive is the first spin-off game to come from the Asphalt brand, it is an intense and original mission-based endless runner based driving game where you can drive cars across the scenic highways of an 80’s style Southern California. Compete with your friends through Facebook, escape the cops, challenge difficult bosses whilst avoiding obstacles, perform death defying stunts and much more.

The game is level-based, with missions that generally involve driving to a certain distance whilst maintaining speed and avoiding crashing to keep away from the cops who are chasing you throughout your drive, or having to take down a certain number of cars, or hitting a number of stunt ramps. It isn’t a racing simulation, but it’s action-packed nonetheless. There is a Crazy Taxi mashed up with Burnout feel to the score multiplier system which rewards the various tricks you are able to pull off with more points.

Getting three stars on a level generally requires you to keep your multiplier up – though you also do need a good quality car which is capable of getting you a good score, a good car is necessary as the power level steadily increases as you work through the game. The basic tenets of the gameplay involve just learning how to carry out insane tricks which give you extra score points for the level you are going through. Gameloft makes very attractive games, and Asphalt Overdrive is no exception. The background style is colorful in an 80’s way, and there’s a certain psychedelic feel to the visuals that just fits Aspahalt Overdrive perfectly.
The game is currently running version 1.0.2 and requires your iOS device to be running at least iOS 6.0 or later. It can be downloaded for free from the app store.

Aspahlt Overdrive Cheats & Tips

I have various tips for any new player which I learned whilst playing the game first hand. First of all; learn your cars, it really helps when it comes to picking which to use. Each car features three different stats; acceleration, maximum speed, and nitro. All of them are significant, but make sure you know why and what they are used for.

Maximum speed means how fast your car will be able to go when it’s running at its top speed. Acceleration measures how fast you can reach your top speed. Nitro measures how fast you’ll be able to gain nitro when doing stunts. You’ll want to figure out exactly how you want to play the game when picking your car as they all have different stats that may or may not help you safely make it through the round.

Rather than using your precious nitro for a short lived speed boost, try to keep cars in front of you in order to enter their slipstream and ram them off the road. This is a common strategy that is used in a lot of other racing games, a strategy that will work incredibly well, especially if you don’t have much nitro left and you really need to boost your combo meter. Building combo chains is the key to doing well, so you’ll want to employ this strategy as often as possible to stay ahead. Each time you complete a successful stunt, your multiplier increases.

Make sure you save your nitro for areas where you can fully take advantage of your ability to do stunts, like areas where there are no other cars and you have no risk of crashing into a tree. Completing aerial stunts can get you points as well, a good way to take advantage of this fact is using nitro while heading over a ramp, this will give you a great bonus. If you try your best to earn as many points as possible with every attempt at a stunt, you’ll find that you will eventually obtain all three stars in the level.

Each level has its own specific rewards and if you get all three stars on every level you’ll soon have a varying collection of different rewards from each completed mission. You could earn cash, gold, or awesome power-ups, which are all totally worth the effort in getting all three stars.

Whilst you might not be the type of gamer to player with others, there are a great deal of pros that go along with joining a gang in Asphalt Overdrive. Some of the benefits of being in an active gang are; quicker energy regeneration, you can also keep track of how your gang members are doing so you can all work together in order to get a high ranking.

Any player who really struggles with the game can always find working hacks and save files for both jail broken and non-jail broken devices if they know where to look.

Asphalt Overdrive Review

Asphalt Overdrive has everything to make it potentially very popular and is widely considered to be one of the best racing games on the mobile market right now. One of Gameloft’s most recent releases, Spider-Man Unlimited, shows that they know how to make endless runner type games very well, however, the game itself seems to be a complete and utter flop.

I had a mixture of reactions to this game, both positive and negative. One of the things that I did like was the whole 80’s feel it gave of, I feel like it really added to the atmosphere of a street car chase. Another thing I enjoyed was the fact that it really kept me on edge while I was playing, especially as I got further into the game, I found myself having to make snap decision as to which direction I ought to go in, occasionally this feeling put me into a little panic and I would completely crash into another car or a tree.

Sadly, I feel like the negative feelings I have about this game outweigh the positive, whilst the game itself is enjoyable for a while, it quickly becomes very dull and the bright colors of the background are just downright distracting “Ohh, look at the pretty colors!” CRASH while it’s nice to look at, you can see where it’s also a pretty big problem.

Another thing that really disappointed me in this game was that the game was really pushing me to buy their premium currency so I’d be able to buy the really cool cars and so I’d be able to replenish my energy, this fact really made me want to just go ahead and delete the game because I’d rather have the 94MB of space it took up, which is what I went ahead and did as soon as the energy I had ran out. This game really isn’t worth the space.

I feel like, if Gameloft really wants to expand their audience and get more people playing their game, they would cut back on the IAP pushing, that way, players wouldn’t feel like they had to spend money they didn’t need to.

Artwork: I give the game a 7/10 for its artwork, the background is definitely lively and vibrant, however it can be a huge distracting whilst trying to avoid various things in the road.

Music and SFX: I give the game an 8/10 for its music and SFX, the music is definitely fun to listen to while you are driving, in a way, I felt like the strong beat actually helped me with my movement. The SFX and also pretty realistic whilst also having a slight cartoon-y element to it.

Story and Originality: I give the game a 4/10 for its story and originality, unfortunately the game really isn’t original at all and this kind of game really has been done to death, there isn’t a whole lot of back story to the game either, so it make it difficult to see the point of the goals and objectives.

General Gameplay: I give the game a 5/10 for its general gameplay, it can be a little difficult to control your car at times, it seems like there is a little too much going on within the level, which makes it incredibly hard for you to make it through the level without accidentally crashing into a tree or another car and inevitably getting caught by the cops. The controls themselves are very simplistic and not difficult to really think about doing.

Addictiveness: I give the game a 7/10 for its addictiveness; I can definitely see why players have gotten addicted to this game. The one main thing that stopped me from fully getting addicted to the game was the fact that I was being pushed into buying things I didn’t want or feel I needed, I felt like the game had been created purely as a money pit for Gameloft. I quickly quit the game before I had a chance to become addicted.

My overall rating for the game is 6/10.
