Sony welcomes a new member to the Little Big Planet family with Run Sackboy! Run! This new addition depicts LBP’s hero – Sackboy in an entirely new adventure. In this game, Sackboy advances through 3 very familiar worlds that feature in the Little Big Planet games, experienced players will recognize these worlds as The Canyons, The Gardens and Avalonia. Throughout each level, Sackboy can collect a variety of things including stickers, power ups, upgrades and even extra costumes.
All the player needs to do to navigate through these levels is tap the screen to jump over obstacles as Sackboy automatically runs through the level, obstacles that Sackboy has to avoid are giant spikes, pits of purple goo that slows him down, clockwork like enemies, patches of ground that can electrocute, avoiding all of these dangers whilst also being chased by a giant monster called the Negativitron. All of these dangers are there to keep Sackboy from reaching the finish line, but it’s definitely fun making your way through these crazy scenes.
As you collect more and more bubbles, you are able to buy fun themed costumes and lucky chests, in which you can find aviator coins, these coins are needed to unlock the aviator costume. You are also able to purchase three different power ups; the magnet, which automatically pull any nearby bubbles to you, allowing you to collect more bubbles per run, there is also a glider and a jetpack which allow you to reach bigger heights to collect rarer stickers and such during runs. In the store there are nine other costumes available for your Sackboy; kangaroo, yeti, princess, footballer, horse rider, croc, Mayan warrior, sackicorn, all of which can be purchased using bubbles. There is also an aviator costume which must be unlocked with aviator tokens which can only be found in the lucky chests or mega lucky chests.
You can also purchase both hearts and bubbles from the store with real money, the values of which range from 10,000-500,000 bubbles costing between $0.99-$33.99, and 10-500 hearts also ranging from $0.99-$33.99. Lucky Chests can be purchased for 500 bubbles each and mega lucky chests can be purchased for 2500 bubbles, in these chests you don’t just win aviator tokens, but you also have the chance to win large values of bubbles and also stickers.
As you run through the course, you will have the chance to collect stickers, which you will collect in a sticker book in 18 different categories, each category contains four stickers which will unlock a reward once collected, the final two sticker pack are special packs as they allow you to unlock content in other Little Big planet games.
Run Sackboy! Run! is currently running (get it?!) version 01.12 and is available to play in various languages. It requires your device to be running at least iOS 6.0 or later, it can be downloaded for free from the app store with the option to use the in app purchases. The game is currently rated four and a half stars with very positive reviews from app store users.
Run Sackboy! Run! players know that Bubbles and Hearts are two of the most important items in the game. Hearts are your lives and will allow you to continue playing after you have lost a life. Bubbles are the points that you earn and can be used to purchase different items and upgrades from the store. Earning bubbles and unlocking hearts can take a long time, especially if you are trying to save up to unlock some larger items.
That’s why we’ve added a hack tool for Run Sackboy! Run! that allows you to unlock unlimited amounts of Hearts and Bubbles! Now you can keep playing through all of the levels without having to worry about starting over or losing your hearts. The Run Sackboy! Run! hack works for both Android and iOS devices.
You can get the hack for Run Sackboy! Run! right here at AppGameCheats.com. First of all, you need to download the hack tool onto your Android or iOS device. The hack program is small so it wont take up much space on your phone or tablet.
Once you’ve downloaded the hack, you’ll see a screen like the one pictured above. Be sure to select which type of device (Android or iOS) you are using so the hack will work properly. Next type in the amount of Bubbles and Hearts you want to add to your account. Check the “Use Proxy” and “Anti Ban” boxes to ensure that your account wont get banned because of the hack.
After you’ve filled out all of the information, click “Generate” to start the hack. You can view the progress by watching the bar at the bottom of the screen. The Run Sackboy! Run! hack should work in a matter of seconds. Open the Run Sackboy! Run! app to check that the bubbles and hearts have been added to your account. That’s it! Now you can unlock any of the items you want and play through the game without having to worry about running out of hearts!
Whilst playing the game, I noticed various things that will help you score really well as you play through Run Sackboy! Run! Each level that you successfully make it through increases your multiplier, the higher you are able to get your multiplier, the higher your score at the end of the run, so try to make it through as many zones as possible. Buying the costumes will also increase your multiplier, so definitely try to get at least one costume for your Sackboy (personally, my favorite is Princess Sackboy). Even if you aren’t really interested in collecting the stickers, it’s definitely something you should consider, as collecting all four stickers in each category will give you some kind of reward, like extra hearts.
While you are running through the various zones, get to the high ledges as they have move bubbles than the lower areas, be pretty careful as there are also more enemies and ways to die on the higher platforms, so only do this if you’re confident in your ability to avoid enemies, spikes and goo. As you find yourself making more and more bubbles the further you progress through the game, the best thing to spend your bubbles on in the store are the upgrades, they definitely make your runs a whole lot easier ,each upgrade can be upgraded six times to allow you to use your upgrade items for longer amounts of time.
On the whole, I actually really enjoyed playing Run Sackboy! Run! It is definitely a game that will get your heart racing like crazy. The game is very quirky and has a lot going on in it. For a mobile game, the graphics are amazing, almost as good as what you would expect from a Little Big Planet game on a PlayStation console. The various costumes are incredibly fun to dress your Sackboy in, not just for the multiplier boost, but because they make him look so insanely adorable. The animations within the game are very sleek and the music has an almost soothing feel to it, which definitely help as the game gets more intense. Having played games in the Little Big Planet series before, I definitely approve of Run Sackboy! Run!
Sadly, like most endless runners, the game only has one mode that seemingly goes on forever, having experienced the Little Big Planet games, I expected some kind of finish line once your assigned goals have been completed, maybe a little banner, some fanfare, you know the deal, but no, the same three different scenes just play out over and over until you die, run out of hearts, or just completely lose the will to go on playing. After you have gone through each scene so many times, you really begin to speed up, to the point where you are given mere milliseconds to make snap decisions about whether to jump or not, something which can get increasingly difficult when there is obstacle after obstacle conveniently placed to ensure your inevitable death.
Unfortunately, Run Sackboy! Run! does not have any game center integration, so if you do want to compete with friends, you have to do it through Facebook, I personally don’t always like doing everything through Facebook and allowing games access to some of my more personal information and allowing them to completely spam my timeline with exactly how I’m doing in the game, the majority of my friends really don’t want to see that. Hopefully, Sony will eventually decide to integrate the Game Center.
Overall, there really isn’t much to Run Sackboy! Run! at the end of the day, it really is just another endless runner, I doubt there is really enough to entice the console games to mobile gaming for the purpose of this game, it may attract, but really, the game in general isn’t anything new that nobody has ever played before, it’s just another company jumping on the endless runner bandwagon.
There are a multitude of things that could be done to improve Run Sackboy! Run! for example, whilst I’m aware that reusing things from Little Big Planet is working for them, something new and fresh would be a great way to welcome players to this brand new solo adventure for Sackboy, until they do this, it is going to be difficult for them to move this game away from just being another Little Big Planet despite its differences.
Artwork: I give Run Sackboy! Run a 7/10 for its artwork. Whilst the level artwork design is very quirky and reminiscent of the Little Big Planet games, it is somewhat doing fans a disservice by not coming up with anything new and fresh for their brand new game and instead reusing old material.
Music and SFX: I give the game a 8/10 for its music. The music has a really good soothing quality that helps calm my nerves when my run starts getting really intense. I also love that the music that plays whilst you are looking at the items available for purchase in the shop, sound like elevator music, it slightly out of place, like most of the music in this game, but it works.
Story and Originality: I give the game a 5/10 for it story and originality. There really isn’t much new that we haven’t seen before in this game, it definitely has a little bit of a different take to make it more entertaining, but it doesn’t really succeed all that well at standing out amongst all other endless runners on the market right now.
General Gameplay: I give the game a 7/10 for its general gameplay. The only controls you have to think about in this game are tapping to jump and swiping to sprint, there isn’t much to it and it’s pretty simple to get the hang of. Having a wide range of things to collect definitely makes the game a little more interesting.
Addictiveness: I give the game a 8/10 for its addictiveness. I’ll admit I got totally addicted to this game up until I ran out of hearts to keep me alive and running through the game, there is still a little you can do once you have run out of hearts, especially if you have saved a nice little cache of bubbles saved up, you can start working on upgrading your Sackboy, picking a costume, buying chests etc. unfortunately, all that won’t last too long and you won’t have anything to do for a while, you will find yourself coming back for more though.
Overall, my rating for Run Sackboy! Run! is 7/10.
