Developer Game Insight, known for their successful games such as Paradise Island and The Tribez, comes at you with yet another game called Cloud Raiders. Building and upgrading a base up on a sky island, defending against sky pirates and attacking them to loot their gold, now who wouldn’t want to be a sky pirate? I sure would want to be and many others as well. Downloaded over one million times with a rating of 4.3/5 on Android Play Store and a 4.5 star rating on iOS App Store, Cloud Raiders has been yet another successful game by developer Game Insight.
You start off with a small tutorial that shows you the ropes of the game. Your airship has been brought down by pirates and you crash land on an island. On this island you build a base to defend yourself against incoming pirates, produce resources to be able to upgrade your buildings and build new buildings and train troops.
You get quests to defend your base from pirates but you can also get quests to actually attack a pirate airship or a pirate base. After successfully completing a quest, you will earn diamonds and gold coins. The gold coins serve as a resource to actually build and upgrade buildings, the diamonds serve as a specialty item to either speed up buildings being constructed or to buy troops which would be too expensive to buy with gold coins. There is an in-game store where you can buy diamonds to further your cause in the game even faster and with a bigger advantage. There is one vital resource in Cloud Raiders called cloud nectar. This recourse is needed to train new raiders for your clan.
There are four types of buildings you can construct to expand your base. There are defense buildings, army buildings, resource buildings and other buildings. The defense buildings are buildings you can construct around your base to defend yourself from incoming pirates. Building things like the cannon or sky Harpoon will give the attacking pirates a hard time to actually reach your base and attack your men. Army buildings are buildings which allow you to train troops. There are different kinds of troops in cloud raiders, hence you will have to build all the attack building types in order to be able to train them and upgrade them. There are four kinds of resource buildings which are the gold drill, gold vault, cloud beacon and cloud silo. You produce gold and clouds in your gold Drill and cloud Beacon, you store them in your gold vault and cloud silo. One last building that is very important for your progression is your stronghold. The stronghold is the heart of your base, you must defend it at all costs and never let it fall.
There are several different goals to Cloud Raiders, it is up to you what you want to do in the game. You can form clans with your friends so that you can go on raids together and crush your enemies and collect as much resources as possible to be able to make a badass fortress on your island. If you like a challenge, you can also play solo. This would mean that you are on your own against the vastly growing enemies of the skies in Cloud Raiders. You need to be able to defend your own island and recover from that attack, so that you can send your own troops to attack the enemies and take their resources.
Cloud Raiders In-game store
Cloud Raiders has an in-game store where you can purchase diamonds and other boosters. Diamonds are the in-game special currency which you could also earn by playing, but is a very slow process. You can use diamonds to speed up your building constructions or troop training, but you can also use diamonds to refill your gold vault and cloud nectar silo if you are running low on those resources.
Besides being used to progress your base, you can also use diamonds to purchase specialty items such as command flags, dragon cannons and mirror shields.
The price for a pack of diamonds vary from $4,99 for the smallest pack of five-hundred to $99,99 for the largest pack of ten thousand diamonds. The boosters or special chests in Cloud Raiders are usually priced at $2,99.
Cloud Raiders is one of the new fun Clash of Clans style of games that combines action and strategy into a fun and exciting battle game. In this game, you diamonds to help you upgrade and progress through the game.
While you are able to purchase the diamonds through the app store, this is something most people don’t like to do because it does cost you real money. Due to the popularity of Cloud Raiders, we have decided to add it to our hack database, which means we have a tool that you can use to get unlimited gold, diamonds, and cloud nectar.
The image below shows you what our hack tool looks like, with the options menu being where you input the amounts of each item you want to add to your game.
If you would like to get unlimited gold, diamonds, and cloud nectar, all you have to do is download our free hack tool. It takes about 30 seconds to download and it automatically installs too. Then, you simply click which device you are using to play the game, either iOS or Android, and you will be able to input the amounts of each item you want to add to your account.
You will then need to hit “Start” in order to run the hack program, and this takes no more than 45 seconds to complete. Of course, all of the times indicated depend on your internet connection, so it could take plus or minus 20 seconds for each step. Once the hack has finished, you can simply open up Cloud Raiders on your device, and there you will see the gold, diamonds, and cloud nectar has been added to your account already. Yes, it literally takes just seconds to get unlimited amounts of these items for the game. You can then play the game as you typically would but you will be playing knowing you have all the resources you need to make this game even more enjoyable than before.
While you might want to use cheats to further your cause, cheats for Cloud Raiders do not exist at this moment. Any website you come across who claims they have a cheat program to use with Cloud Raiders, probably wants to make you download their program by completing surveys, and after that you will end up with a dodgy program on your computer which more than likely is a virus. So my advice to you guys and girls would be to be cautious when downloading programs like that. I can however give you a few tips to get you on your way with Cloud Raiders.
You want to make sure that you add more builders to your base regularly. Adding more builders allows you to construct and upgrade more buildings at the same time. A good idea would be to construct more gold drills and cloud beacons so you can collect even more gold and cloud nectar. More gold coins and cloud nectar will allow you to train more troops and upgrade your buildings more often.
You always want to make sure that your bunkers are stocked with troops so that when there are enemies attacking you, you will have a high chance of a successful defense. After you have successfully defended your base, you want to make sure to attack your enemy. Do this by using a variety of troops instead of one troop kind. This way you will assure yourself of a certain victory because some troops are good at attacking and some are good at defending. Because of this, you want to make sure that you are always training more than one set of troops at the same time. You do not have to worry about the amount of troops you have early-game. The more you level up, the more troops you will be able to add to your crew.
After you successfully defended your base against attacking enemies, you want to take your troops and attack pirate rafts, which are filled with treasures. Make sure to raid their bases regularly to assure yourself of a good income of resources. One thing to pay attention to is your enemy’s types. Different types require different battle tactics and you need to change your tactics accordingly before you start attacking your enemies.
When you think you are ready for some PvP, make sure to find opponents with weak defenses. This way you can easily target their resource storages and production buildings to get your loot and get out of there fast. Make sure you always have shields in your base. Shields will protect your base against other PvP opponents who want to attack your base while you are offline.
I like it when somewhat complicated games for casual gamers such as Cloud Raiders starts off with a nice tutorial so you can get used to the gameplay. The tutorial tells you the store behind your sky island base and why you are there. It also teaches you how to construct buildings and train troops, shows you how to collect resources and defend against attacking sky pirates. At the end of the tutorial, you also get to attack a sky pirate ship.
After this tutorial, you actually feel like you know what the basics of the game are, and you can start playing without any help. The graphics are nice and clear, and the animations are not overly complicated. You can actually follow what is happening on the screen. Another thing I really liked about Cloud Raiders is the fact that you can connect with your friends, trough social media and form clans together. With these clans, you can go on raids and share the loot together like real sky pirate buddies.
The very first thing that bothered me about Cloud Raiders, is the fact that it lacks originality. There are many games out there which are basically the same as this one, only has different graphics and characters. Although the story about being attacked by sky pirates is pretty nice, the lack of originality made Cloud Raiders feel like yet another cash grab.
Speaking about cash grab, it is well known that free-to-play games implement an in-game store into their games. While Cloud Raiders does not force you to buy things in their in-game store, you sure as hell would have a big disadvantage if you wouldn’t. Other PvP players who do buy things in the game, will easily annihilate you. This leaves you with a huge disadvantage because your opponents would know that you are weak, and will always come back for your gold coins.
To construct buildings in your base, you need gold coins. These gold coins get produced in your gold drill. Sometimes construction takes a lot of time and you can use diamonds to speed up this process. Of course you can collect diamonds by just playing the game, but diamond drops are very scares. This is also applicable to training troops. In late-game you will be able to have a big force, but it will take a while for them to be trained. Diamonds could speed things up but they cost a lot of real money.
While I really liked certain aspects of the game, such as the tutorial and the story in the game, it is unfortunate that this has to be ruined by the fact that people who spend money in this game have a huge advantage over people who do not. Even if you would play day and night as a person who does not buy diamonds in Cloud Raiders in-game store, you will still be annihilated by people who barely play and buy diamonds. Hopefully the game developers can at least make the diamond drop rate higher, so free-to-play gamers actually stand a chance.
Artwork: I give Cloud Raiders an 8/10 for its artwork. There are a lot of things happening on your screen, but even if your screen is small, you can still follow everything with ease. This has a lot to do with the artwork of Cloud Raiders. The buildings are not too big and the troops are not too small. It all just fits perfectly together.
Music & SFX: I give the game a 7/10 for its music and SFX. The soundtracks of being idle on your base or when you attack an enemy are actually pretty fitting and are easy on the ears. The SFX are also nice and do not bother the player by being too loud.
Story & Originality: I give the game a 4/10 for its story and originality. Unfortunately Cloud Raiders is not very original. While at the beginning you do get a feeling of the story behind it, it lacks originality. I can name at least three games which have the same mechanics as Cloud Raiders, which got released before this game. I am still inclined to give it a score for its story, because the story of being attacked by sky pirates is actually pretty cool.
General Gameplay: I give the game a 7/10 for general gameplay. Cloud Raiders actually plays very well, with no hiccups, at least I did not experience any. You get certain quests at time and you just follow your objectives. Make sure that you have enough recourses to be able to upgrade your base. You can also connect with your friends trough social media to form clans and raiding parties which in my opinion, makes the game a lot more entertaining.
Addictiveness: I give Cloud Raiders a 6/10 for addictiveness. While it is true that there are many games just like Cloud Raiders, it doesn’t take away that the game can be a little addictive at times. You have this feeling in your stomach that you do not want to be attacked anymore so you have to check your base, and upgrade your defenses if need be. Same goes for your attacking troops, you want to make sure they are powerful enough to actually defeat the enemies. Unfortunately in late-game you will have to wait a long time for buildings to upgrade and troops to be trained, so if you are not willing to dash out some real money, you better have a lot of patience.
All things considered, I give Cloud Raiders a 7/10
