Just as you’ve seen several times Frontline Commando: D-Day is another World War II based game. Companies seemed to get on the bandwagon of making these games after popular franchises like Call of Duty and Medal of Honor had so much success with them. That being said, Frontline Commando: D-Day is not just a blatant rip off with nothing to offer and it holds up decently well. The game is by Glu, a very popular company that has made other games like this and are no strangers to the mobile gaming market. A successor to the original Frontline Commando, Frontline Commando: D-Day, available for iOS and Android, features the same type of gameplay and does it a bit better than the 2011 release. The game combines what everybody loves about a console shooter game and adds the portability of a mobile game which is what makes the game as good as it is.
With five separate campaigns that total up to about 150 levels this game has a lot to offer when it comes to gameplay. The five different campaigns are Utah, Gold, Omaha, Sword, and Juno – not in that order. All of these are actual missions from WWII and gives the game a bit of added realism where some games may not. The graphics and detail in the game are very well done and they seem like they took their time with this game in general. The smooth movement and sharp graphics are impressive for a mobile game. Every location that they drop you into is well done and seems realistic compared to a lot of games made today. Everything done holds up pretty well with the console games made today except for the fact the gameplay ends up getting a little stale at times. That being said the graphics and sound effects are the more well done part of this game and it stands out when playing it. The gun shots in the game are somewhat realistic and don’t completely overpower the game with lots of noise. The voice acting seems to be a bit much at times and overpowers the game a bit and that can be a little annoying at times.
The game itself seems to play itself at times and it does get a tad repetitive. As you duck behind the wall you have to pop your head out to get a good shot and duck back down to remain safe. You have three buttons that you’ll use during this phase of the game and that makes the controls a bit easier than a lot of games are. You’ll have a button that you use to move away from cover and ready yourself to take a shot. Another button allows you to take aim and ensure that you hit the shot each time. The last button is a small button that you use to take your shot actually. The controls in the game are well done without needing to be overcomplicated. After you clear out all the enemies at a certain point then you will be taken on a quicktime event that pretty much runs you through the next part. You have very simplistic controls during this time and it can save you when you make your way to a minefield or a few obstacles. The gameplay doesn’t stop right there though – the game makes use of other parts of war that may not be touched on in other games. You make use of tanks, anti-air weaponry, and larger weaponry to take down vehicles.
Glu is a company that tends to enjoy the pay-to-win aspect of games and this game doesn’t show any changes really. Without spending money on the game you’ll be hard pressed to afford anything significant in Frontline Commando: D-Day. The fact is that you can complete the entire campaign without having to buy anything will real money but it does make the game a lot more boring in my opinion. Gold is the currency that can be bought and can be earned in game but its quite hard to come by and you’ll need a lot of it to buy anything decent. The best idea is to just stay away from these purchases and play the campaign once over with the default kit you start with.
Frontline Commando D-Day is a really fun war-time first-person shooter. You probably have figured out that you will need a lot of gold and war cash to get through the game and upgrade items. You can get the gold and war cash in the app store or purchase them through the in-game option, but this costs real money, and it can get expensive really quickly.
This is why we at AppGameCheats have added a hack tool for Frontline Commando D-Day, which gives you unlimited gold and war cash for free.
Check out the image below and you will notice how easily the hack tool is setup, with an options menu that you use to input the amounts of gold and war cash that you want to add.
All you need to do is download the Frontline Commando D-Day hack tool on our website, which takes only about 30 seconds to download, although it depends on your internet connection. The hack will automatically install, which takes no more than 30 seconds, and then you just select either iOS or Android. You will then need to enter how much gold and war cash you want to add to your account.
When you are ready, click “Start” so that the Frontline Commando D-Day hack tool can run, and this takes just around 45 seconds to complete. Once it has finished, you open up Frontline Commando D-Day on your device as normal, and you will find that the gold and war cash are already added onto your account. If you download and use this hack tool, you can get as much gold and war cash as you need, and you will never have to purchase anything from the app store again.
While it may seem like a great idea to sit behind the barriers to take a break and wait things out for a bit it isn’t something you should do really. Standing or sitting in one spot for a long time will leave you vulnerable. The enemies can and will shoot through the sandbags and the wooden boxes and will eventually destroy them. Take your time before going to shoot but don’t wait too long or you may find yourself in a heap of trouble.
Another good tip for being in battle is to reload your weapon when you decide to take cover from the firing going on around you. Doing this will almost ensure that you don’t need to reload again while in the middle of shooting, assuming you aim well and don’t miss a lot of shots. Doing this will save you from taking unneeded damage and keep you ready to fight whenever you need to.
Complete new levels and achievements in order to play through new levels and unlock more on the way. You can go back through different levels you’ve already played and aim for the different achievements that each one has within it. Earning these achievements will make it easier for you to unlock new levels while also giving you a bit more money to spend of weapons or med kits. Some of the missions require you to complete it in a certain time so make sure to start at the easier levels and work your way up if you need to. Gold stars are very important in this game and it will be obvious as you play more.
Accuracy is a big part of this game and without it you will be left reloading in open fire and taking significantly longer to kill the enemies. A lower time means a better score so keep these in mind while playing. Try to zoom in whenever possible. Blindly firing may work at times and is better in certain scenarios but zooming in will make it easier to kill single targets and help you conserve ammo. When using a sniper you should make sure to hover your cross hair over the person you want to kill and then zoom it. It makes getting the kill much easier and quicker than having to scope in and look around for a person.
Not looking to spend money on this game at all, but still lacking on supplies at times? Make sure that you claim the daily rewards that you can get for coming back to the game a day after previously playing it. These rewards will prove to be very helpful and allow for more supplies without the real life money – or in game money even. This will help you save money once again to buy med kits or other needed supplies in game. Alongside this idea there is also a way to earn free gold within the app. Glu offers you a few chances to earn gold and most of them are watching trailers or following them on a social media platform. Now these may be helpful but I wouldn’t do them myself unless I was dead set on buying something big or was really short on gold. This is something a lot of games do and it really doesn’t sit well with me. They don’t earn you enough to do anything with really and they demand a lot of work for virtually nothing.
Frontline Commando: D-Day is a great game with great character detail and environment. The detail added makes this game on par with certain console games at points but it does have its downsides when it comes to the gameplay. Audio quality is brilliant and everything is done well – with the exception of the voice over that seems to be a bit overpowering at times. The game is tied together quite well and all of these aspects are well done and nothing really fails to hold up as you continue playing it other than the levels getting a tad repetitive at times. This game will have you playing it for hours on end trying to unlock the next level and beat it to move on in the campaign.
Frontline Commando: D-Day’s gameplay is rather interesting in the way you play it. Moving from cover makes the game a bit more original and it does feel different compared to a lot of other shooters that are on the mobile market. The gameplay does get a bit stale at times and it does change itself up with the added tanks, larger weapons, and achievements that you can aim to do in game. The sad thing is that some of the levels begin to feel almost identical to the last one and things feel a bit slowed down when you reach these points. That is the only negative to the gameplay really and that’s quite the accomplishment. The gameplay is pretty realistic compared to games like Medal of Honor and it does a justice to the WWII based games that people know and love.
With nearly 150 different missions there is plenty of time to waste in this game and it tends to go by quickly so long as you’re enjoying yourself and don’t mind some repeating. The gold you earn comes slowly and the levels become harder to unlock as you progress in the game. Frontline Commando: D-Day has its in app purchases and knows how to implement them to make them money. You’ll be hard pressed to not spend money on this game if you want to finish every level and not sink an entire day into this game. The purchases are not needed for you to play through the game entirely but you will find yourself playing levels over quite a bit to get the gold and stars to unlock more levels. Glu tends to like these methods of in app purchases and it works for them quite well.
Artwork and SFX: The graphics at times feel like console tier graphics and they do stand out when it comes to the gameplay. With well done lighting and sharp features the game looks like a game that you would have to pay for in most cases. These are very impressive for a mobile game and I commend them for doing the best they could with them. The sound on the other hand has its ups and downs. The voice over for the game is a bit much and doesn’t really add to anything sadly. They tried a bit too hard with it and it turned out to be a bit too overwhelming at times. The rest of the SFX are well done and realistic sounding. Overall Frontline Commando: D-Day has great artwork and SFX which gets it an 8/10 in this category.
Gameplay: The game plays very smoothly and allows you to shoot at the enemies and clear out that part of the level. After doing so you’ll move on and be prompted to use a few of the controls you have to dodge or mount obstacles in game. This is the basic idea for most of the levels in the game and the different levels that are thrown in are well done as well. The exploding of tanks, usage of anti-air weaponry, and the chance to use other guns will leave you wanting to play more to see what happens next. Each level feels unique enough while some of the locations may be a bit overused they don’t really effect the game all that much unless you’re paying attention to it. Frontline Commando: D-Day gets a 9/10 for its gameplay.
Addictiveness: Frontline Commando: D-Day is a game that requires lots of time put into it to beat it. With that being said the game can surely keep you wanting to play more as the levels get more difficult and the weapons you get become more and more fun to use. I personally played a few hours of this game before starting this and took time to play a bit while writing it as well. The game is well put together and holds up well even after a decently long session of playing it. A lot of mobile games have this issue where things become stale within an hour but Frontline Commando: D-Day does a great job of mixing things up enough to where you can play for hours. I give the game an 8/10 for its addictiveness.
Overall Frontline Commando: D-Day is a well done WWII shooting game. It may not be the most original but the concepts they do work with are done as best as they can and it shows in the gameplay. It’s a must download for those who love Call of Duty or Medal of Honor but want a bit more mobility in a game. I give the game an overall score of 8/10 and suggest you try it yourself.
