I also really like the fact that you are able to customize your character and play the game for free, even though you will be restricted by this. I do not like it when games restrict you by making you pay money up front, which is luckily not the case with Roblox. It is also very nice to see that you are able to chat with a lot of different players from around the world, and even add them to your friends list, in order to be able to send personal messages to each other.
Even though there is a lot of variety in the gameplay of Roblox, due to the fact that there are so many different servers with different games on them, Roblox still has several very negative aspects. For starters, the developers of Roblox have decided to litter the game with advertisements, be it banners that you will always see or pop-ups that show up randomly. The advertisements in Roblox are pretty annoying and sometimes even obstructive.
It feels like the developers have done this on purpose, just so people would pay money to join a Builders Club, in order to remove all of those advertisements. This makes Roblox feel like a cheap cash grab, which is a shame, especially since it is very popular among teenagers. I would have liked to see a way to remove the advertisements in the game, without having to pay real money for it. The developers should know that not everyone is looking to spend money on a free-to-play game, even if there is a lot of content and entertaining gameplay.
The second negative aspect about Roblox is that you are required to purchase Robux or Roblox Tickets, if you want to be able to purchase most of the items in the in-game store. You are able to earn Roblox Tickets by simply playing the game, but it takes a very long time to collect a significant amount of them, just to be able to purchase the items that you want.
The price for Robux starts at $4,95, which seems fine for a free-to-play game, but there is even a package of Robux for a whopping price of $199,95. The problem with this is that Roblox is specifically designed for teenagers, and I can’t help but wonder where are teenager is going to get two hundred dollars. The Roblox website states that All Sales Are Final, which means that if your child would take your credit card and purchase Robux, you would not be able to reverse the process and ask for a refund. This is pretty shady, and makes Roblox feel more like a cheap cash grab, which is also trying to trick teenagers into spending money on the game.

Artwork: I give Roblox an 8/10 for its artwork. Roblox has some pretty decent graphics, especially considering that the game was first released back in 2004/2005. Of course, the developers have updated the game since then, but it still shows you that you do not need high-end graphics, in order to make a game successful. I really like the fact that there are so many different games and servers in Roblox, which all have different looks and visuals. The graphics are similar to Minecraft and LEGO, and the developers have made it work pretty well.
Music & SFX: I give Roblox a 7/10 for its music and SFX. I have played on at least ten different servers on Roblox, but I have not heard any soundtracks thus far. I believe that players can decide for themselves if they want to implement soundtracks into their maps. Even though I didn’t hear any soundtracks, there were luckily enough sound effects, ranging from gunshot SFX to main menu SFX.
Story & Originality: I give Roblox an 8/10 for its story and originality. Roblox is unlike any other PC or mobile game, because of the fact that the gameplay gets determined by player-build maps and servers. This allows for a wide variety of games, gameplays and content, which is very unique in my books. I have never played a game before which solely relied on player-build content. This makes Roblox one of the most original games that I have ever played, especially because there are so many different games and servers. There is no real story behind the game, except for what you read in the game or server description.
General Gameplay: I give Roblox an 8/10 for general gameplay. At the beginning of the gameplay in Roblox, there is no tutorial, which means that you will have to rely on all the different servers and games to teach you how to properly play the game. After playing on the different servers and games for a while, the gameplay becomes straightforward, but luckily there is a wide variety of choices to pick from. The controls are smooth and responsive and the user interface is pretty simplistic, which allows you to easily navigate through the game.
Addictiveness: I give Roblox an 8/10 for addictiveness. It is very easy to get addicted to Roblox, because you are not restricted to any one kind of game or server. There are so many different games and servers, which means that there is a wide variety of gameplay. I really like the fact that Roblox is free-to-play, and if you want to unlock more features, you can subscribe to a Builders Club, in exchange for a monthly fee.
All things considered, I give Roblox an 8/10.
