Looking for a fun racing game like you used to do as a child on your Nintendo? We have found the game for you. Beach Buggy Racing by Vector Unit is the right game for you as well as just coming out May 11, 2015 meaning that you will not be that far behind in the competition even if you start now. Although any game racing game won’t be as good as Mario Kart ever was, players will play Beach Buggy Racing using similar mechanics as in Mario Kart and still being as good as the SEGA series of Sonic as well as the All-Star Racing series. Although a newcomer, Beach Buggy Racing offers new aspects to the racing series and still gives the same amount of excitement as the other racing games. Beach Buggy Racing is available to both iOS users and Android users, so game accessibility is not limited to any kind of phone device. Even farther, this extends to the Xbox where it’s available to multiple different consoles.
In Beach Buggy Racing, the mechanics of the game come naturally if you’ve played other kinds of racing games. Beach Buggy Racing doesn’t try to be different from other games in terms of how the game is played, but rather tries to continue with the formula type racing game that we all know and love. It attempts to succeed in being a better racing game than other games, rather than trying to be something different. Because of this, Beach Buggy Racing is not a particularly different game but rather is a game that really tries to excel in the racing aspect of the game, but fails to excite players who have played other racing games.
Even though the game is called Beach Buggy Racing, not all the stages actually have to deal with beaches. Sometimes the courses are from other environments such as mountain, icebergs, marshes, and aquariums. While the number of courses are diverse, the courses are not unique from other racing games. The tracks are good and provide a different track pattern every single time, making each race different. This provides more fun for players because they become bored of the tracks or playing the same track over and over again.
In terms of the game’s characters, the characters don’t differ very much from each other. The game doesn’t provide any difference between characters besides mainly the color of their outfits and the style of their outfits. Other than that, the game has characters who mainly have the exact same face as each other. This makes the game really plain with each character being practically the same. I would appreciate it if the characters had some unique traits to them so that they could be different from each other.
On the other hand, the variety of the cars that are available in this game is numerous. A lot of cars have a different style and different colors available. This makes for a large number of different cars available so that you can play on whatever car you like best. This lets you have the ability to do whatever you want when it comes to type of car.
The gameplay of Beach Buggy Racing is good due to the amount of handling that you are able to do. You have the ability to turn well regardless of which car you want to use. With each different car, you do have the capability to use special abilities depending on the car that you use. For example, one specific type of car has the ability to leave behind a couple of flowers so that anybody who follows the flowers will lose out on their tires. Then some also have a turbo boost that simply gives them an acceleration of speed to get ahead of the other riders.
The bots in this game are extremely unbalanced. In the beginning of the game, the bots are extremely easy because the bots have no idea how to drive their cars and they use their power-ups too willingly so that they don’t do anything to benefit them. When you get through those easy races, the races become extremely hard and one on ones are also extremely difficult. Often times in harder races, the race becomes more of a game of luck rather than it being of skill. There are often a couple of random objects that happen to come flying your way that causes you to fall behind. It really becomes an uphill battle from there. Without having very much control on how the objects in this game fly, it becomes hard to make progress when the game gets so random. It’s like trying to beat someone when you are playing heads and tails with them. It’s all up for a fifty fifty chance when it comes to trying to best the other person. If your skill has no effect on the race, is there really a point to playing the game anymore?
If the producers of this game created a specific level for these types of bots, then it should have made a different mode so that you didn’t have to face bots that would randomly hit you with their power-ups. The producers of Beach Buggy Racing should have made the normal mode a simple racing game campaign against bots that may get a bit harder and then to the point where you need to accurately use your power-up in order to win the race or get ahead of the bots. That makes the player have to have the ability to drive and also use his power-ups effectively in order to win. Other than that, dealing with what is on the field now, feels more like a challenge of how lucky can you get in the game rather than how well you can do in the race. If there was a significant dodging technique that you could do in this game, it would also make this game a bit more skill-based rather than luck-based.
If you are playing the game Beach Buggy Racing, then you probably have noticed that coins and gems are really important to help you progress through the game. To start out with the power-ups, there are various different types of power-ups that you can use this game. First of all, there are Fireworks that allow you to shoot a rocket at your opponents, but the rocket is a simple skillshot that you have to aim straight ahead in order for it to hit someone, so it won’t be bending around corners finding a target. Next off, there are power-ups that will follow your opponent in order to get an automatic hit on them. Those are called Tiki Seekers. They do as they are named, they are rockets that follow the selected car that you need to get ahead of. For Oil slicks, these do what you expect an oil slick to do when you run over it with a car. When you use oil slicks, they cause an oil spill behind you and cause other drivers who happen to run over it to start slipping out and cause them to lose their handling on their car. For the Low Gravity power-up, other cars will begin to, well, lose gravity, causing them to go up in the air and be really slow while bouncing up and down. If you’ve ever played Mario Kart, you know what the blue shell does. They seek out the number one player and launch a rocket at the target in order to stop the first player from continuing to be first place. Those targetted abilities are called Death Bats. If there’s anyone around the first place player when they strike, they cause the people around to also get wrecked by the blast radius.
In any shield in any game, it will protect you from flying projectiles that might hit you when you’re racing on the track. Shields are the most important when you’re in the lead so that you can hold onto your lead without getting attacked by a bunch of bats. Any boosts that you find on the map will cause you to increase your speed for a short amount of time before it wears off. These are used in order to gain a bit of distance in a short time. For example, the mushrooms in Mario Kart also give a boost of speed for a short amount of time before wearing out. As I’ve said, Beach Buggy Racing is extremely close to Mario Kart for the mechanics of the game.
After you race, you gain a certain amount of coins that you can use for an upgrade to your power-ups or for a completely new car! When you are unlocking new cars or buggies, you want to go for the ones that have the highest speed while also having a certain degree of handling. There’s no point in having a car that has so much speed, but can’t be handled. So whenyou’re thinking of whether you want to get a power-up upgrade or a new car that’s much faster and has better handling, the power-up is only obtainable by a little bit of luck, while the car is with you the whole way, so you want to go with the faster car almost every single time, unless the difference the cars is so minimal that a power-up would actually be better.
As a general rule of thumb, upgrade the car before you upgrade the power-up. When you do start upgrading your power-ups, you want to start with the coin magnet. This will allow you to gather coins at a much faster rate without you having to deviate off the normal path that you would do if there were no coins there. If you remember temple run, you would want to upgrade the coin magnet because it gave you so many coins and if you got more coins, you could upgrade the other power-ups so much quicker because you have a way to gather coins effectively without losing many each race.
For the race and the different environments, you want to be prepared for every single one. When you enter a race, you will lose a ticket that you have to either pay for or if you get first place in a race, you will receive the ticket back that you can use again for next race. Even though you might get first on a track, you might not get the ticket back because it’s mainly based off of whether you get three stars or not. Usually if you beat the track record time, you will score all three stars, otherwise it’ll be a bit of random number generator.
Beach
For the beach, you will have to be wary of any possible collision that you might have with nature. In the beach, you might see some crabs in your way. If you do hit them, get stunned for a short amount of time before being able to continue onto the race. They will head for wherever your car is aiming at the time, so the only way to avoid them is by deviating off your path at the last second so that the crabs don’t have enough time to react to your change in path. Other than that, the beach is a fun course to play in and isn’t that challenging other than the crabs that might come in your way.
Swamp
For the swamp maps, you will need to change up your tactics significantly. The course is extremely bumpy and coarse. In order to get around the corners in the swamp, you have to slow down or else you will lose the handling on your car and fail to get all the way around the corner. So just make sure that you’re not going too quickly on the swamp because it will end up hurting your time rather than improving it.
For the power-ups, specifically the shield power-up is to be used not with caution, but if you do get a power-up that is useless at the time, you still want to use it so that you can receive a different power-up that could help a lot more than the one that you had previously. By making sure that you use the power-up that you have on hand, you can receive new power-ups whenever you hit the question mark.
Make sure to log in every day in succession so that you are able to receive the bonus that they give you for coming in daily. If you aren’t feeling up to playing for a certain amount of time, make sure you still invest some time into logging in so that when you do come back to the game, you will have plenty of items and coins readily available to you when you come back to the game. This will also grant you a turn on the spin wheel that will give you a ton of different rewards or items that are useful in the future.
If you do have time during the day, make sure that you are completing any daily quests so that you receive the extra coins for completing the daily quests compared to the other quests that are available to you. If you don’t do this, you will be losing out on a ton of missed coins that could be used to buy the new car that you wanted.
Although Beach Buggy Racing is similar to a ton of other games, Beach Buggy Racing does have one good thing going for them. They have a fun career mode that takes a ton of time in order to complete. The other games like Mario Kart are extremely quick to finish if you know how the play the game, but in Beach Buggy Racing, everything is a bit harder to more difficult to complete the first time. With that, the racing with a screen that is split in half is really fun to play and look at so that you can play with other people. On top of that, Beach Buggy Racing has this quick play mode that allows you to get in a quick match whenever you have time on your hands. This makes the game an extremely easy and fun game to play on the road or when you’re getting a coffee. The quick play is a quick game against a couple of bots that’s fun and easy to play so that you can enjoy your time waiting, while not being too concerned about losing, it’s like playing an unranked game in any MOBA that you can imagine.
Beach Buggy Racing also has the increased benefit to the game by adding in challenges that can be performed everyday because you have to connect to the internet in order to play. By implementing these daily challenges, they force players into continuing playing in order to complete the daily challenge and get the gold that they would feel that they would have missed had they not done the daily challenge. This draws players in to continue playing every day.
Even though this game seems like a cop-off of several other different games, it’s still worth a buy because of the reasons that I listed up above. It also has some different challenges and really offers some different challenges than what those other racing games offered. It adds more to the aspect of a bit different in order to be its own game, but still being a relatively similar game to other games so that experienced players would continue to have an advantage over non-experienced players in Beach Buggy Racing.
The presentation of Beach Buggy Racing is a good one. The animations of hitting something like an animal is rather nice, despite it being such a violent action. It’s like ones that you see in comics on TV where they kind of act like they’ve gotten hit by a truck, but such a playful sound comes out of them that you really don’t think you’ve done anything too bad. The music is also a bit annoying because it’s simply a repeating soundtrack that can be turned off if you don’t like it.
If this game sounds like a fun game to you and you have either played or not played racing games like this before, it’s both a good game to start with as well as continue with. It provides a couple of different aspects to the racing genre while still keeping the core of the mechanics of a racing game in tact.
Artwork: I would give Beach Buggy Racing a 6/10. The artwork in Beach Buggy Racing isn’t particularly bad, it just isn’t that great. The faces on every single character was done extremely quickly because the difference between each character is very minimal, but a lot can be seen on the car. Each car is done really well and are obviously different from each other. It’s just so obvious that the artist spent no time on the people and focused the game more on the cars, which I, personaly, have no problem with, but other players may not appreciate it for what it is.
Music and SFX: I would give Beach Buggy Racing a 7/10. The music repetitive, but you can turn it off, so I guess it was okay, but I would have appreciated some more action inducing music that made me want to play the game more and be more excited to race. The SFX like the start sounds are pretty familiar which is a good thing because the sound is rather universal, but the sounds of crashing into a bunch of different objects is cute and funny, making the SFX not as bad as I thought it was going to be when I first downloaded the game.
Story and Originality: I would give Beach Buggy Racing a 5/10. I couldn’t really identify a solid story in this game. The game is all around in terms of getting down a solid story. Become the best that you can and get the best car possible and then win every race? That should be the story of every single racing game, so I have no problem with this type of story, but if a game did want to have a story to it, this would be how not to do it. It feels like it copied Mario Kart to be honest. The power-ups have such familiar effects to the power-ups in Mario Kart, that they are really unmistakeable.
General Gameplay: I would give Beach Buggy Racing a 7/10. Even though the game is so similar, if I had to disregard that, the gameplay is good because the handling makes sense compared to the meter of the handling for each car and the movement mechanics for trying to get your car into tip top shape and edging around corners in different environments is spot on. I would say that they could have improved in the items department by making them easier to drop and aim.
Addictiveness: I would give Beach Buggy Racing a 7/10. While Beach Buggy Racing could be extremely addictive because people would really want to finish the game but can’t because of how difficult it is, would be super into it, but other people who got tired of the game being too tired could easily end the game right there. So Beach Buggy Racing is more of a hit and miss for addictiveness. It can be addictive if you feel like you have to finish the game, but also not addictive at all because of the difficulty level.
Overall Rating: Overall, I would give Beach Buggy Racing a 6/10.
