If you do this, your rewards will stack up and you will gain more rewards for logging in the next day. If you have purchased some gems or you have enough gems to spare and you need more coins, you can use the coin doubler that will change your gems into coins so that you can use them to upgrade your power-ups.
In order to start the game, just go ahead and start your run through the main menu. The game will give you a couple of options to buy a booster for the beginning of the run, but it is really pointless to get this booster because the first stage of the game is pretty easy, but once you get farther into the game, it gets a bit harder, so all in all, getting a booster is more or less when you don’t want to have to waste your time in the beginning.
If you are just starting out the game, look to get coins so that you can start purchasing upgrades on the power-ups and you will be able to get farther in the game after that. If you do start a run, you will lose a heart where it will be refilled in 10 minutes, so after you have played a couple of games, you will lose all of your hearts and have to wait. If you don’t like waiting and you want to play the game, you have two options. First, the legitimate one is waiting or asking a couple of Facebook Friends to give you a couple of hearts, or you can do the illegitimate one, quitting the game and turning your clock ahead of time so that the game feels like that certain amount of time has passed and you will receive a certain number of hearts based off of the number of minutes that have passed.
After you do the tutorial, you will be given a couple of tips to follow. If you want it ahead of time, you can actually grab objects, but also have to dodge a couple of objects or obstacles. If you make sure that you are collecting the power ups that you find along the way, you will be able activate a special move where you are in a flight mode where there aren’t any kind of obstacles that you are required to dodge, but there are coins that you can collect on the way without any trouble. This eventually dies down, but it won’t be like you are dropping from the sky straight away, but it lets you down slowly. The numerous obstacles include a mushroom that blinds you, an ice that causes you to not be able to tilt or jump, but you have to tap the screen in order to unfreeze your character. If you die in the middle, unless you have gotten super far and you want to beat your record, you can actually revive yourself using a couple of gems. It usually is not worth it because you have an unlimited number of runs, but some people feel like that they won’t make it again, so it is okay to try it once if you want to beat your record.
The graphics and everything are really good and the game is really fun to play, but I just feel like it is such a copy of other games. So I don’t think that the game is particularly lacking compared to those similar games, but I just don’t rate it as high because it isn’t original. The characters in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Rush are pretty cute and unique, but they also take that from a television show rather than making it themselves, so overall, it is a pretty good game, but it doesn’t really have a uniqueness aspect to it.
I think that if they added a better competition against friends aspect to the game, it would be a lot more interesting and a lot more fun if you could see both you and your friend’s character and see them side by side and racing live when you are playing it. It would add to the uniqueness of the game compared to the games that are really similar to this one. It would also add another feature that other games don’t have right now.
In-app purchases grant you a couple of different items. For instance, you will have the ability to purchase a couple of gems that you can use in order to purchase some new characters or accessories, but the other game currency, coins, are earned through going through the tracks. Coins can grant you a couple of benefits. First of all, when you get power-ups, you can upgrade them using coins so that they last longer or have a stronger impact in the game and will grant you a higher score. Think of this game as Temple Run except in a different format than Berry Rush. Berry Rush is like a cover over Temple Run that uses some more cartoon like characters rather than an animated human, which will appeal more to the masses than a guy who is getting chased down by monsters and can get eaten up by the monsters. Also, using characters off of a television show is a bit of a way to get a bit more popularity without having to improve the game.
I would recommend this game to kids younger than 10 years old because they would be more enticed to play this game than other kids who are older than 10 who might think that the concept is even too cute or girly for them.
Artwork: I would rate Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Rush a 7/10. The characters are pretty cute and the actual artwork of the whole thing is pretty nice and adds a nice, different concept than a game similar like Temple Run or Train Runner. I will admit that they pretty much just used the artwork of the cartoon, but if I was just judging it based off of the artwork, it was still pretty good.
Music and SFX: I would rate Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Rush a 5/10. The music is okay, but it doesn’t really give the feeling of running and trying to get a high score, or anything that I’d appreciate and the sound effects are also pretty cheesy considering the other games that I have played which were similar.
Story and Originality: I would rate Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Rush a 2/10. There is no real story here. All you are doing is trying to get a high score using Strawberry Shortcake or some other character. So you are not really following any kind of storyline that you need to complete. There is literally temple run and train runner. Both have the exact same playstyle as Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Rush, so it is pretty much the exact same game with a skin on it to cover it up a little bit.
General Gameplay: I would rate Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Rush a 6/10. Disregarding the fact that it is just a cover up of another game, it is pretty good in terms of gameplay because the controls are simple, but they really give you a hard time and make you think about which direction you go and force you to try and improve your reaction times in order to get better at the game. The power-ups are also very fun and interesting to play with that make you want to play more.
Addictiveness: I would rate Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Rush a 8/10. It is a pretty addicting game that makes you feel like you can do better every time because every time you lose, you feel like, “if only I could’ve dodged that” where you think that you can keep improving until you ultimately get bored of the game and it doesn’t become entertaining anymore. I think that if people are interested in getting all of the characters, it could be exciting and addicting, but if not, then I don’t see the appeal.
Overall Rating: Overall, I would rate Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Rush a 6/10 because it is addicting due to the nature of the game, but it isn’t original at all and it doesn’t have any kind of story to follow while playing.
