Cartoon Wars Cheats, Tips & Hack for Gold & Forging Stones

Cartoon Wars is an arcade game developed by GAMEVIL Inc. a company known for other games such as Monster Warlord, Punch Hero or Dungeon Link. Cartoon Wars is available for free on Android devices and has a price of $0.99 for Apple devices and it has been downloaded for about 25 million times on both platforms. It has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 on Google Play and 4 stars out of 5 on Apple’s App Store. The game requires an Android version of at least 2.2 and, for Apple devices, iOS 4.3.

The purpose of Cartoon Wars is to build enough troops to be able to destroy your enemy’s tower and his troops and keep yours safe. In order to do so you must constantly upgrade and deploy all kind of troops while you keep an eye on your Mana Booster (you need mana to deploy troops). The idea of the game is pretty basic and Cartoon Wars is not a Tower Defense game as many would think because you focus on troops not on different towers.

Sign-up is not needed for the game and currently you are not able to sign-in with any social account even if you want to. If you uninstall the game or you change your device, you will lose all the progress you have made so be careful. There are a few ads in-game but nothing too annoying.

In Cartoon Wars, you can find 2 type of resources in-game and they act as currency as well. The first one is called Gold and it is the main currency. You can collect Gold by completing missions or by buying them with real-money. The price for it varies, starting from $0.99 for 6,000 Gold and going up to $99.99 for 1,500,000 Gold. The other resource, doesn’t have a name but I think it is called Gems. You can get them by completing a mission in less than 10 minutes (1 per mission, first time only) or with real money. The price for it varies, starting from $0.99 for 4 Gems and going up to $99.99 in exchange of 1,000 Gems.

Cartoon Wars Tips & Tricks

  • Don’t rush levels. It may seem odd or boring but this is the best “game exploit” out there. Send enough units just to kill opponents but nothing more or use only the Bow. Each enemy unit killed will grant you Gold so based on simple math, the more you kill the more you earn.
  • Upgrade your Bow even though you don’t follow the tip above. It is your only line of defense. Go for the Damage and for Attack Speed at first.
  • Using the bow can be tricky. Practice with it and make sure the arrows are landing where they are supposed to do.
  • Don’t upgrade stuff meaninglessly. Focus on upgrading just 2 or 3 type of units. For example a fully upgraded Warrior-Cannon-Golem combo would be an efficient combo.
  • You can upgrade in real time. Pause the game, upgrade your units and get back into the fight.
  • Constantly upgrade your Mana Booster. It will help you spam more troops. (At early levels don’t go more than 400 Mana, it’s pointless)
  • While the Bow is keeping the enemy away from the castle, stack mana and then send a huge attack. You will most likely overwhelm the enemy and that’s the way of winning the battle.
  • If you are approaching a rush tactic make sure you don’t upgrade your Warriors to level 10. They will become Archers and their attack speed will be halved.

Cartoon Wars Review

Cartoon Wars has a deceiving name. When you first stumble upon it, you will most likely think about a “war” about different cartoon TV shows or anime but unfortunately that is not the case. This Cartoon Wars is between black and white stickmen and their formerly enslavers – the colored not-stickmen guys. The idea of the game is not that bad but I think that a better implementation of it would have been great.

In the first part I will talk about the things I like about the game. Don’t worry, I will be short. First of all, I really like the fact that there are a bunch of different characters in-game and that each one of them can be upgraded into other units – they also have their own advantages and weaknesses. Secondly, I appreciate the fact that the game has endlessly levels. You can play for how long you want without worrying that you will finish the game before you upgrade that lovely golem to the maximum level. This option is probably happening because the game is pretty simple and it doesn’t have big requirements but nevertheless is a good thing for Cartoon Wars. In the end, I was really intrigued by the description story. As I mentioned before, I was expecting something else but from what I’ve read I was really curious about how the story continues – too bad it doesn’t continue. The description is the only lore you’ll have about Cartoon Wars.

There are more than a few things about Cartoon Wars that I don’t like. For example I wanted the ability to save in cloud or to link my game account with a social account so I won’t lose my progression if something happens with my device. I know it’s not that hard to start all over again but if every other game out there has this option why shouldn’t Cartoon Wars has it too? Also, there are a few players that exclusively use their mobile device as a game console. Most of the users are playing when they have a little spare time or they are bored. In Cartoon Wars, a battle has a maximum duration of 20 minutes and that is agonizingly long. The majority of the battle would not last this much but if there is a slightly chance I would probably think twice or more before I start a game in Cartoon Wars.  In terms of gameplay I am annoyed by the turret control. It gives a sense of realism to the game but we are talking about cartoons fighting in a war. A much simpler aim for the bow wouldn’t have hurt. Moreover, if we are talking about the realism, the mana regenerator is a bizarre structure that feels out of place in the game.

Overall, I honestly don’t find Cartoon Wars enough interesting to recommend it especially for Apple devices users who must pay $0.99 to get it. However, it has some elements that you may enjoy so if you want to take a leap of faith and download the game, go for it.

Ratings

Artwork: Cartoon Wars gets 6 out of 10 for its artwork. I don’t really understand the fuss about this game but the artwork is not its best feature for sure. The environment is static and old, the animations are weaker than a 90’s game and the pseudo-castles which are looking like towers are bad designed. The friendly units are basically stick-mans with different hats or weapons so again, nothing good about the artwork. As a paradox, probably the best looking things from the game are the enemy units – they look somehow interesting if you compare them with the rest of the game. Unfortunately, Cartoon Wars is far from last generation visuals.

Music & SFX: I give the game 5 out of 10 at this section. I don’t even want to remember the sound effects because it was an awful experience. It was the first time in my life when I turned the sound off because I couldn’t stand the noise – it even bothered a friend who was with me in the same room while I was playing. The music which is nothing but a song that repeats over and over again suits the theme and it plays nicely in the background but that is not enough to forget the sound effects especially when fighting.

Story/Originality:  Cartoon Wars gets 6 out of 10 at this segment. The game doesn’t have a story whatsoever (besides the story from the description) so it’s hard to give it a decent rating. Some basic story maybe would have helped the game to be more enjoyable but unfortunately the developers didn’t decide this. You start right in the middle of the battle you don’t really know why you are there. When the game doesn’t have a story but it is really authentic or approaches a unique idea, it can do wonders. However, Cartoon Wars is not the case. The game is somehow interesting but it is not the first game of this type and most likely not the last.

General Gameplay: I give the game 7 out of 10 for its gameplay. Probably the best thing about Cartoon Wars it’s the gameplay because it’s pretty straight forward. You have a tutorial at the beginning that explains what you have to do and how and after you uncheck the option of tilting in order to move the camera (trust me, you will) the game becomes decent. The upgrades of the troops and the additional stuff are nicely explained and it doesn’t feel overwhelming at all. For the time I’ve played the game I haven’t encountered any bugs, freezes or crashes.

Addictiveness: Cartoon Wars gets 5 out of 10 at this segment. The biggest issue of this type of game is that they are very repetitive and in order to solve this there has to be a lot of additional content available for the player. Cartoon Wars doesn’t have any additional content at all. You are “doomed” to play on the same battleground (with small differences) over and over again for the entire time you are going to play the game. You don’t get daily rewards, you can’t easily unlock additional troops and all you can do when fighting is pressing on troops as mana is available – the interaction with the game is basically limited to this. Unfortunately, Cartoon Wars is not addictive at all.

Overall, Cartoon Wars scores an awful 5.8 out of 10. I don’t understand the hype behind the game but if you like weird games you will most likely enjoy this one too.
