As you may have expected, agriculture is a huge part of life for most people living in ancient times, and the same applies to Farm Clan: The Adventure. Plant fruit trees, herbs, various crops, and go fishing so your villagers don’t go hungry. They are almost completely reliant on your valiant efforts and without your attention they will ultimately wither away and die.
There are 17 available crops to choose from and besides those there are also goods and tools which can be used to grow your village economy. You start out Farm Clan: The Adventure with nothing but a plot of land and a hammer, but through hard work you can build your humble little village into a thriving and powerful town.
With 50 distinct buildings and over 220 decorations, customize your town and build it to epic proportions. Develop your economy and your heroes to withstand attacks from 14 enemies, and show your Facebook friends who the true leader is.

As with many virtual economy and virtual farming games, understanding that your resources, and not necessarily your skills, are your most import asset, will yield great dividends throughout your experience with Farm Clan: The Adventure.
Perhaps your most important resource of all is energy. Energy is what allow you to do things in Farm Clan: The Adventure, and just like in real life, it is finite and once it’s gone you have to wait to regain it. For every development activity that you engage in, such as chopping down a tree or building a hut, you use up one unit of energy. Once you are out of energy you have to wait three to five minutes to regain 20 units of energy.
Although 20 units of energy may seem like a lot, consider this, it takes one unit of energy to till some land and to create a plot, it takes another unit of energy to plant a vegetable in the plot, it takes a third unit of energy to gather those crops, and fourth unit of energy to use those crops to restock your building. Considering your goal here is to restock the building, that one goal requires 4 units of energy.
Starting out you won’t need a robust amount of energy because frankly there isn’t that much to do. But once you have a lot of buildings, all needing crops, harvesting, building, decorations, etc. you’ll find yourself wishing you wouldn’t’ t have wasted all of your energy on this activity vs that one, or you’ll put the phone down and just wait it out.
The cheat you must remember, and perhaps the most important cheat of all, is simply this, use your energy for the high yielding activities before you use it on those with less returns. If you have 4 energy units left and you have the option between harvesting some carrots which will only get you 5 coins or harvesting some onions which will get you 15, go for the onions every single time.
One of the cheats to get around the energy restriction is to ask your friends on Facebook to lend you a hand, if they agree, you’ll get a few more energy units if not, you can always pay for more energy in the in app store using real money.
To spend less real time on tasks, have all of your heroes working all of the time. You’re given more than one hero for a reason, those other heroes are there to help you out. If your village gets quite large in can become cumbersome to have your hero running back and forth, as well as time consuming, to solve this problem I recommend having one hero in each area of your village.
Adding to that, make sure to ration out your in game activities in a manner that is congruent with your lifestyle. For example, if you plan on laying Farm Clan: The Adventure for 5 minutes at a time during your snack breaks at work, then plant several crops that take less than five minutes to grow so you can harvest them before your times up, and plant some long term crops in their place so when you return to the game you’ll have some money waiting for you. Similarly, if you are playing for extended periods of time, don’t waste precious gameplay and energy running back and forth to 2 minute crops or to short term production buildings, invest in many medium-short term projects that will make the most use of your time and energy.
There are also several great in game cheats that can save you a lot of trouble and get you a lot of coins. First there’s the magic wand, the magic wand is used to “revive withered crops, speed up the growing of crops and fruit trees, and to accelerate the production of heroes work”, in essence it makes everything a lot easier for you. You get a fair amount of magic wands at the beginning of Farm Clan: The Adventure, so don’t waste them on menial tasks you could’ve easily done yourself. Also you can buy magic wands using real world money.
Similar to magic wands are rubies. Rubies get the ball rolling a little quicker, rather than actually completing a quest or a mission you can just pay that quests ruby fee and reap the rewards. This is a great cheat for getting those menial quests out of the way, relying too much on rubies though can prove ultimately detrimental when you actually need them due to running out of energy, and you have none. That’s why I only use them to complete quests when I’m low on energy, same goes for magic wands.
Achievements are another great way to just rack up coins without having to really actively complete a task. Don’t get me wrong, you can actively work towards an achievement but if you treat it more as a passive activity you can focus on the more important facets of the game, and in doing so you will get achievements anyway. Focusing too much on achievements is a catch 22 so just let them come to you. There are 73 achievements and each of these leads to monetary or material rewards as well as a badge of honor to show off to your friends.
Another great cheat for earning passive income is to just simply sign in to the game every day. You don’t even have to play, just open up the app that day and you get rewarded. On the first day you get 500 coins, sign in the next day as well and you win 5 magic wands, do this a third day in a row for 50 hearts, if you make it to 4 days you get 20 units of energy, and if you sign in for five consecutive days you get a saddle. The saddle is one of five rare objects which, if collected, can be used to build a stable, one of the largest and most profitable buildings in Farm Clan: The Adventure. The other four pieces of the stable are the saddle, the horseshoe, the rope, spurs, and a shield. Each time you get 5 consecutive days of signing in, you get another piece of the stable, not a bad tradeoff for just opening an app.
Finally, when you first start out, make sure to add decorations to your village to increase the happiness of your villagers, the happier they are the more you can build. Secondly, unless you thoroughly enjoy wasting time, always use plant mode to plant your crops. Otherwise you have to waste precious time individually selecting plots and the relevant plant or tree to put there.
Farm Clan: The Adventure is a great game to relax to, it requires very little strategy, and you’re going to be more entertained with making your village the way you want than with any tactical decisions. The graphics were cutesy and fun, although the animation was very basic it came off more minimalist and retro than careless or lazy. Farm Clan: The Adventure is a game that grows on you, a first I really didn’t get it but it has its own je ne sais quoi that kept me playing long after I thought I would.
The developers went a little too far with the in game advertising, you can’t go 2 minutes in Farm Clan: The Adventure without being aggressively “persuaded” to purchase digital content. Still, this isn’t a game where you necessarily have to purchase things to go far.
Controls were very easy to pick up and in no time I was building my village. One of the more frustrating aspects of Farm Clan: The Adventure was the energy restriction, which always succeeded in halting any sort of rhythm I thought I was getting into, even after connecting my Facebook account I still ran into issues with energy. I would highly recommend the developers increase how much each energy unit is worth so people can actually get into, what is otherwise, a pretty good game.
Ratings
Artwork 8/10
Very basic two dimensional artwork and graphics, still it was very beautiful to look at and its obvious that attention was paid to even the minute details.
Sound/ Special Effects 6/10
The sounds were adequate but not astounding. There was airy background music that played throughout but it was relatively constant and uniform, before long you’ll forge it’s even there.
Story/ Originality 4/10
There’s nothing to Farm Clan: The Adventure that you haven’t seen before
Gameplay 8/10
Gameplay was straightforward and not very tasking, all you have to do is tap on an object once and an action is completed.
Addictiveness 8/10
Farm Clan: The Adventure is surprisingly very addictive, you wouldn’t expect it but this game really grows on you and being able to visit and compete with friends is an exciting aspect of the game that keeps you coming back for more.
