Dragon Heroes: Shooter RPG is a Role Playing game developed by PATI games corp. a company known for other titles such as Minimon Master, Minions Jump or “I Love Pasta”. It is available on both Android and Apple and it has been downloaded for almost 5 million times. The game has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 on Google Play and a number of 4 stars from a maximum of 5 on Apple’s App Store. It also requires an Android version of at least 4.0.3 or, for Apple devices, iOS 6.0 or later.

In Dragon Heroes: Shooter you take the role of a tactician who controls a skilled team of warriors whose whole purpose is to save the world and crush all the enemies in the process. You can team up with your friends and create powerful guilds, you can go on an adventure in the vast number of dungeons the game has or you can focus strictly on the campaign – the choice is yours.

The game doesn’t require a mandatory sign-up but I strongly recommend to sign-in with any of the available options to ensure no data loss in case of changing your device or if you uninstall and then reinstall the app at a later time. Currently you can link your game account with Google Play Services, Facebook or even with a Pati Friends account if you have one.

Dragon Heroes: Shooter is an RPG so the presence of microtransactions isn’t surprising. There are several different resources but only one is considered premium. This premium currency of the game is called Ruby. The least amount of Rubies you can purchase at a time is 42 with $2.99 while the biggest amount is 1,400 in exchange of $99.99. There are a lot of other offers and special packs such as Starter Packs or Halloween Packs. You can also exchange Rubies for Gold.

Cheats & Tips for Dragon Heroes: Shooter

  • Your characters are auto-attacking so you should only focus on the movement and dodging the enemies’ attacks.

  • Before you start a battle, make sure your team’s overall score is bigger than the recommended score or at least the same.
  • Each enemy will have a weakness and a strong spot. You can find that by noticing the orb near the level’s name. If the enemies are weak against fire, you should bring water heroes and so on.
  • Find friends in the game as soon as possible. It is more fun to play with someone and their heroes can also aid you in your battles.

  • In battle, summon heroes when they reach their maximum combo level. This way, when they replace your current hero, they will provide extra damage to the enemy.
  • Fusion all the unneeded heroes. On rare occasions, the result can be something really good.
  • All of the skills are worth investing into but you should focus on attack speed (Fierce Charge) and on Sturdy Defense. They should get you going in the early stages.
  • Make sure you login daily because the rewards will be better and better.
  • Each day, you also have free bonus draws of various items so make sure you check those too.

Dragon Heroes Shooter Review

If the modern Asian culture is successfully reflected in anything, that would be the video games. The focus is on the graphics, the design looks really good and the gameplay will always be at a fast pace. Surprisingly or not, Dragon Heroes Shooter is exactly like that. An immersive game filled with a lot of good-looking animations and with a generic gameplay.

Probably the best feature Dragon Heroes Shooter has is the way the characters look and act. There are more than a few different main classes each having their own subclasses with dozens of characters per subclass. The time invested in creating so many unique characters is something the developers should be proud of. The character design is really good and even though some of the skillsets may be similar, overall, everything looks authentic. Another great feature I encountered in Dragon Heroes Shooter is the variety of dungeons. At first, I was disappointed about the number of different game modes but when I realized that I can spend more than several hours doing dungeons and not touching the campaign, I was disappointed no more.

In addition to this, there are always special events when a holiday occur in real life – Halloween, Christmas and so on. I also like the fact that you can “automatically” do almost anything. Can’t do that fight? You can simulate it. Can’t pick a competitive team? The game can recommend one. By doing so, new players will not feel overwhelmed (too much) and will get some help but not in a way that will make the game unchallenging. You can still lose those simulated stages (and they also cost), you can still create a more powerful team manually and you can still do a bunch of stuff based only on your experience or luck.

In the following lines I will explain what I don’t like about Dragon Heroes Shooter or what I would change if given the possibility. Coincidence or not, all my complaints about the game are related in one way or another. First of all, I must say that I am a bit disappointed about the turnaround of the starting characters – you root for them in the beginning and you will stop using them the second you get something better. If they are the main protagonists, they should be more powerful. Secondly, strictly related, I don’t like that you get a free 6-Star character after you finish the tutorial. On one hand I appreciate that I get the chance of playing with a powerful character right from the beginning but at the same time I believe that the whole purpose of Dragon Heroes Shooter is shaken.

Normally, I would play more and more until I can afford to get a 6-Star character but if I receive him right after the tutorial, where is the fun in it? Last but not least, I don’t think it’s such a good idea to present the story from the beginning. Most of the players will skip all the dialogue options and all the cinematics at first because they want to decide whether the game is worthy of their time or not. I would create a default tutorial where you are taught just the basics and then I would properly start the story. This way, you make sure that whoever is still playing will be interested in what you have to say.

Overall, Dragon Heroes Shooter is a game that I would probably recommend. It can feel a little too complicated at first but if you give it enough time, the game will provide an interesting experience for any player, experienced or not.

Ratings

Artwork: Dragon Heroes Shooter gets a rating of 9 out of 10 for its artwork. As I mentioned before, the game is one of the best-looking titles on the market and even though there isn’t a focus on the realism, it still looks great. The theme is Fantasy so you should expect a lot of colorful stuff happening on your screen. The character design is really cool and you can say that the developers spent a lot of time with it. The level design and the menus are modern as well. The animations effects are interesting and they also reflect the game’s theme. You can’t complain much at this department.

Music & SFX: I give Dragon Heroes Shooter a rating of 8 out of 10 at this section. The game has an above average soundtrack. The songs are matching the theme and they provide along with the artwork a proper fantasy atmosphere. Personally, I am not a fan of the soundtrack but I must admit that it is interesting. The sound effects are also interesting but, for some reason, I expected a lot more detailed dialogues and stuff like that. The game is an RPG after all. Nevertheless, taken as a whole, this “department” is good enough.

Story/Originality:  The game gets a rating of 8 out of 10 for its story and originality. After a long time, I can finally say that I had the pleasure of reviewing a game with a proper story – Dragon Heroes Shooter. If you put it under a microscope you will see a lot of flaws and problems but taken as a whole, the story is interesting. In terms of originality, I can safely say that the game is authentic and even though there are some elements that may be encountered in other titles that is not made on purpose. The whole responsibility of this problem is on the theme which is widespread among RPGs.

General Gameplay: Dragon Heroes Shooter gets a rating of 8 out of 10 for its gameplay.  This RPG is one of the unlucky cases where no matter how user-friendly you try to be (thorough tutorials, helpful tips, automated mechanics and so on), the game is still complicated. If you get past this and you are willing to learn, you will discover a more than solid game with interesting features – the only thing Dragon Heroes Shooter requires is patience. For the time I’ve played I haven’t encountered any major bugs, freezes or crashes.

Addictiveness: I give Dragon Heroes Shooter a rating of 8 out of 10 at this section. The game is an RPG so it has all the required elements to be considered addictive. You have a proper protagonist progression, you have characters which will also progress, you need to build teams and tactics, you need to collect stuff and you have a complex campaign and awesome dungeons. However, the main problem is the game’s difficulty. Even though I mentioned that there are some mechanics that help the inexperienced players I still strongly believe that Dragon Heroes Shooter is a bit too complex to be played by everybody.

Overall, Dragon Heroes Shooter gets a rating of 8.2 out of 10. The game has all it takes to become popular on the market. The only problem is the reluctance of casual players to try a fairly complex game.
