Cheating Tom is for players who know english because you aren’t able to change the language of the game to some other language. Cheating Tom is a pretty simple game that offers a pretty decent tutorial of how the game works. Cheating Tom has received 642 reviews, so not too many people have played the game, but still a decent amount of people were willing to at least review the game. There are over 100,000 reviews on the Google Play store. The last update that Cheating Tom had was in May 2, 2015 so it is updated pretty often so that the game is free of bugs or other things that would make the game crash or make the game not as fun. The most recent update, version 1.5, was to fix a couple of minor bugs as well as fix the crashes that were occurring for some people. They also announced a second Cheating Tom in the update. This game has a size of 85.7MB so it isn’t too big, but it’s a bit bigger than the average game.
The first thing that you can do is choose which character you want to be, or which gender you want to be either with Tom or Tammy. There are 10 teachers that are pretty mad for no apparent reason. You will go through sets of levels where you will face off against a different teacher every set of levels that you get introduced to. This will eventually progress all the way up to college where you will be able to cheat in college. During the game, you will look for the 10 students who actually studied for the test and you must go around looking at their test or homework in order to get all of the answers so that you earn an A+ grade. The only thing that is stopping you is the teachers who occasionally look up to see whether anyone is cheating or not, which is indicated by their cone of vision as well as the crying kids who attract attention. There are 9 different background that you will experience throughout the game, but they don’t really differ in how the game works. The power-ups in this game help you distract the teacher or help you collect a lot of answers a lot quicker. There are also bonus people who you can cheat off of in order to earn answers a lot quicker and get that A+ a lot quicker. After you cheat off of a student, they will give off a reaction so that you know that they noticed and it will make you convince them not to tell the teacher.

Make sure that you are always avoiding the range of the teacher’s vision so that you aren’t caught immediately
Avoid all of the crying kids because they attract attention like flies and light. The kids who study will be obvious once you get into the game, but make sure that they aren’t going to tell on the teacher about you cheating on the test.
Whenever you are looking for the first person to cheat off of, you should look for the people with bonuses. These people give the answers the quickest and can really make the game a lot easier for teachers who look up a bunch.
Make sure that you don’t take it too quickly, but also make sure that you are within the time limit. You should take calculated risks that make sure you are safe more times than not. By going this, you have a less chance of losing while also making sure that you are able to win.
The blinking students represent kids who are about to leave the classroom because they are done with the test. Make sure you get off enough answers so that you don’t just lose them
The power-ups are pretty essential to getting the A+ grade. They really help you get a ton of answers really quickly and are always useful.
Lastly, it is good to repeat levels so that you can get that perfect A+ grade so that you can continue to the next set of levels without too much trouble. It is usually easier if you replay a level, to get an A+ the second time around.
I think that while this game has a ton of positives to it, it also does inspire a bit of cheating with it. It kind of describes Tom as this cheating figure who will do anything to get the answers off of someone else. So I could definitely see this as being a bad influence on children who could be influenced from Cheating Tom and start cheating themselves if they find it so easy. It’s not like in this game where you get to start the test over and try to cheat again, it’s more serious in real life. It can get you suspended from school and screw you over in the future. So while this game is a ton of fun, it can be a really bad influence on children who don’t know the consequences of cheating.
I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone below 13 because I think that people above 13 have already made their decision about whether they’re going to cheat through school or not, but anyone below 13 doesn’t know the consequences of cheating as a whole and might try it just out of curiosity of how easy it is or who don’t know the consequences of cheating.
I would say that the animation and the graphics of this game are really good and are really clear. I think that this game has some good graphics that really add to the game, but I don’t think that the gameplay aspect is up to where it should be. I feel like there needs to be more differences between the levels that you play or else it can get really repetitive doing the exact same thing over and over again. I would recommend that the game did something about that, whether it is changing the shape of the room or adding some kind of boss to the end of each level.
For a free game, Cheating Tom does offer over 100 levels completely free. There are also no in-app purchases which means that there is nothing that means that the game is pay to win. I really like this aspect of the game where you don’t have to spend anything on the game in order to get the whole experience. The game is really good at the moment and has a lot to offer in terms of the fact that it is free, but I would definitely like it if there was some social aspect in the game. If they offered some kind of dueling method against your friend which you watch side by side about who could cheat the fastest, I think that the game would be super fun and super interesting to play. Personally, I would pay money for a game like that where I could compete against my friends in terms of being able to face them in this race of who can cheat the fastest.

Artwork
I would give Cheating Tom a 5/10. I think that the artwork in Cheating Tom is better than average, but if they drew some different emotions on Tom, that would also be nice because he pretty much just has one face. He is drawn like the typical jock that you might expect, so it is pretty interesting to play with the main character. The kids crying is all pretty animated and what you would expect from a game like this. The artwork on the different teachers is also pretty cute, but it does pretty much portray them as angry people which not all teachers are. So overall, the artwork is pretty decent, but the emotions could be worked on a bit.
Music and SFX
I would give Cheating Tom a 8/10. The music in Cheating Tom is pretty decent with the soundtrack being this upbeat background music where it kind of entices you to get the cheating going. It’s what you might expect from a game like this to where you can pretty much imagine it in your head. I do think that it goes well with the game, so I think that it is sufficient with the game that Cheating Tom is. The sound effects in Cheating Tom are also pretty amusing with the sound of the magnet and the sound of the kids crying. They are also what you would expect to hear from an animated game like this. It has animated sound effects, but they make the game more fun, so what’s to hate about the game. The sound of the crying kids does get on your nerves after a while so you probably shouldn’t play this game for hours at a time because they will get in your head and be really annoying.
Story and Originality
I would give Cheating Tom a 6/10. The storyline in Cheating Tom is pretty much that you don’t really want to know your way around how to do well in school and would rather try and cheat throughout the game all the way up to college so that you can graduate from college while not having to study a single time. I think that the storyline is a bit silly but it is probably a dream for some kids because they don’t want to study and they just want to cheat in order to get through school. Although the story is kind of naughty, I think that it’s a decent storyline for trying to get people to play the game. The storyline is a rebellious one about a rebellious kid who is not going to go through studying to get good grades. The concept of Cheating Tom has been used multiple times before, both in the app store as well as on computer games. I do think that the idea of power-ups in this kind of game is more or less original because the other games were generally based off of leaving class while not having the teachers be able to find out that you were leaving or cheating on a test. So ultimately, it is original in its own way, but the concept has been used before.
General Gameplay
I would give Cheating Tom a 6/10. I think that the gameplay of Cheating Tom is pretty interesting and pretty decent at best. The game has some pretty different features to it that make it pretty interesting. For example, the crying kids who you have to avoid because they attract attention are little obstacles that you have to face as the main character, Tom. There are also these power-ups that you can use to make the game a bit easier, or so that you can get past a particular obstacle that the game has set in place which makes you use a specific power-up. I think that this aspect of the teacher having a constant view of the room and scanning the room makes the game somewhat memory and then good decision making. As ironic as it sounds, you have to have some good decision making while you are cheating in this game. You have to make sure that the teacher is not in view of you as well be careful of the other children in the game. The gameplay is similar to other games, but it is in the app store which I have not seen before. The additional levels going all the way up to college are also pretty interesting in the game where you have to work your way up, cheating all the way, to college and be able to beat all the levels in order to get the graduation cap. I would like it more if they added some different gameplay other than cheating on tests and homework because the gameplay is a bit repetitive with every single level in the game, so if they did add some different kind of minigame for some levels, I think that it would be less repetitive and be more interesting.
Addictiveness
I would give Cheating Tom a 5/10. Cheating Tom is pretty addictive just from the nature of the game. It provides this kind of rebellion feel to it where you are able to cheat on tests and exams and trying to get away with it. It does provide a strange amount of rebellion to it where you may not have been able to experience in your teenage years. Although it may seem fun at first, it can get a bit repetitive. The game revolves around copying homework and tests while trying not to get caught. This means that it can kind of get repetitive with the number of times that you will be doing this while also trying not to get caught in pretty much the same environment as you might expect. There are a bunch of levels that eventually get all the way up to college, but you are simply doing the exact same thing over and over again which can get super boring if you really think about it. The constant same face of your character is also a pretty boring aspect of the game. His face doesn’t really change throughout the whole game. Players may feel like they want to play the game all the way up to the college level where it gets harder and harder to play, but it can get really hard and really frustrating to play because you have to constantly repeat the same level over and over again. There are power-ups to help you out in the game, but sometimes it’s not enough. So it can get a bit boring for payers through that as well. It is kind of like figuring out a puzzle where you are trying to figure out the best path where you won’t get caught as well as the timing of everything in the game. So I can see this game being pretty addicting for players because it is kind of like Geometry Dash where every single run is learned through memorization and knowing what will be where. So I guess in Cheating Tom, you can memorize the teacher’s sight patterns and work around them well enough to memorize it and play it. Overall, it can be addictive to the right people, but for some, I’m sure that they would quit after one play.
Overall Rating
Overall, I would give Cheating Tom a 4/10.
