Dinosaur War Cheats, Tips & Hack for Fodder, Meat, Stone, & Crystals

With all the recent prehistoric hype over the recently released fourth installment of Jurassic Park, it’s no wonder that dinosaurs have been thrust back into the spotlight. Gamers who walk out of the cinema with a sudden dinosaur itch that just needs to be scratched can head over to the Google Play Store and App Store, on Android and iOS devices respectively, and start playing dinosaur War. Developed by Play Store Droidhen Games, top developers on the Play Store and creators of the popular DH Texas Poker app, Dinosaur War tells the story of a group of humans and dinosaurs who must work together in rebuilding their harmonious society. Build resource generators like mines, pastures and stone quarries, spend those resources on recruiting and strengthening your dinosaur army, and control your army to fight off the enemy. That’s right, dinosaur vs dinosaur combat on your mobile.

If you’re a fan of base builders like the ever popular Clash of Clans and Megapolis, then the core gameplay of Dinosaur War should be right up your alley. You begin the game on a small village where you can construct buildings on, as well as your Central Base and Jurassic Shop, used for unlocking certain technologies like boosting unit stats, and Arena, where you can challenge other players online using the Lucky Egg items. The tutorial, which takes you from player level one to two in the span of about a minute, shows you how to build a Mine and Colossal Egg Nest. These are resource gathering buildings, similar to gold collectors or mines in similar games. They each produce a resource that you will need to build objects or train recruits in the future, stone for the mines and fighting units for the colossal egg nest. When you begin construction on a building, it will take an amount of time to complete it, which can take from about ten seconds up to ten days and beyond to complete depending on what you are doing and what level the buildings are. If you just can’t wait for that level three mine, there’s always the option to speed things up with Crystals. Crystals are a rare resource that you can only earn by completing objectives, going up levels, or purchasing them from the in game shop. Use Crystals to skip the time required to build anything from buildings to upgrades to recruits.

When you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can send out your army to battle. Victories earn you a sweet reward in resources, but be careful: units you use in battle can only be used once, and you have to pay for each one. Just make sure you aren’t spending more than what you would win and you’ll be fine. Battles in Dinosaur War are shown from a side on aerial view, similar to how sports are shot. Your dinosaur recruit sprites line up on the left, and take turns auto attacking the enemy units which spawn on the right hand side. There’s not much to do in battles during the beginning, but soon enough you’ll have access to powerful spells and items to help turn the tide in any situation.

With so much content to explore in game both online and offline, Dinosaur Wars is the next best base building resource generation game out there, and anyone with a soft spot for dinosaurs will get sucked in for hours building their perfect village.

Dinosaur War Hints, Tips and  Cheats

Dinosaur War tells you a lot of great tips during the loading screen, right at the bottom of your phone. Keep reading them and you will be an expert in no time.

Numbers and composition are everything in Dinosaur War battles, and you need to master them to conquer the leaderboards. High DPS units are great and all, but if you don’t have the cheap units to tank damage, the glass cannons are sure to break.

Don’t forget to upgrade your units. A base cost to upgrade every unit produced from here on out is a great investment, and you’ll earn the money back quick enough through battle rewards. This tip works much better on cheaper units, as the upgrades are much more effective stat wise.

Balancing your village economy between army and infrastructure is key to a speedy growth. Pumping out tons and tons of units will reward you in the short term, but you need to keep earning the resources spent to back it up. Dump money into buildings for a bit, and switch to the army side. Make sure to give both sides the right amount of attention.

Dinosaur War Review

Going into Dinosaur War, I have to say I was very excited to play it. It’s got dinosaurs, what else are you really looking for in a video game? The surprisingly drab main menu didn’t hinder my enthusiasm as I jumped into the game, and then it opened with a tutorial. I’m sure most mobile gamers know how these kind of base builder, wait for things to finish or speed them up with money type games begin. I was given a small handful of buildings to start off, and away I went. I think players who haven’t touched a Clash of Clans clone would have a hard time grasping what this game is all about. The tutorial only lasted a good minute, and after that I still didn’t know what I was building towards or why. A strong story would suck in people much better than a couple of quick text boxes, but that’s forgivable right? It is a dinosaur game after all. Well, the short answer to that is no, and you can read on for the long answer.

To me, it came across that Dinosaur War was proud of their in game battle system. Plastered all over the game description were terms like expel evil across the land and challenge other people. Obviously, the first battle was a huge disappointment in my eyes. My supposedly fearsome tiny little Raptor sprites slide into view with the elegance of an early 2000’s flash animation to face a singular Raptor. They all proceeded to take turns shooting fireballs at each other, Mario style (there seemed to be no indication that I could do anything to help my guys at all) before the enemy keeled over and a fat sack of stone was dropped at my feet.  I was blown away for all the wrong reasons. At least in Clash I could spawn my units in strategic places, and it felt like my presence was a much needed one on the battlefield. And for a game that flaunted their battle system like this one, not backing it up is not an option. So, if the battle system does not work, does the Sim City style building simulator save it?

Of course the answer is a resounding no. It’s like they won’t get it until we need to send a collective email to lead developers saying ‘I don’t want to play a game that revolves around waiting’. Some games get it right through reward schemes and easier ways to speed up construction. Dinosaur War still seems like the same game we’ve already burned out playing, or more accurately a very bare bones version of it. The bells and whistles of upgrading dinosaurs with weapons and armor get tiring pretty quickly, so if that side of the game falls over too, that just leaves us with a final impression of a clunky, underdeveloped app. Dinosaurs couldn’t even save themselves, how the hell are they supposed to save this one.

Dinosaur War Ratings

Artwork: I give Dinosaur War a 6 out of 10 for Artwork. Even from the splash screen, you can tell that Dinosaur War isn’t a looker. The village looks nice enough, but those battle sprites are the absolute worst.

Music and SFX: I give Dinosaur War a 7 out of 10 for Music and SFX. The little pew pew battle sounds definitely wear thin after the first hour. Music is catchy though, if somewhat basic.

Story and Originality: I give Dinosaur War a 6 out of 10 for Story and Originality. I know there’s a cool story in Dinosaur War but it’s kept hidden from regular players. I only know about it from research. Oh and, originality in a base builder? Get real.

General Gameplay: I give Dinosaur War a 7 out of 10 for General Gameplay. We all know the genre by know, and you either like it or you don’t. I promise that Dinosaur War will add nothing new to the table.

Addictiveness: I give Dinosaur War a 5 out of 10 for Addictiveness. Dinosaur War didn’t sink it’s teeth into me, and smart players will uninstall this an hour later, never to look back.

Overall, I give Dinosaur War a 6 out of 10.
