Because there are different bugs, they also do different things. That means that they can sustain either more taps or something else like that. I will get more into the details of it later on. First of all, there is also some amount of artifical intelligence that is placed in the bugs so that they can different things and also have a bit of a mind for themselves. After every single wave, you will be unlocked to the new level where you will get introduced to the newest bug. After that, all of the bugs start tstacking together so that you will get to see all of the bugs by the 8th level, which is the final level tht you can play which has all of the insects available for players to play. If you make it to the 8th level then you are already pretty good.
To start out the game, you will have three lives that you can use in order to survive a bug attack that might get through your fingers. You will have to survive on those three levels for all of the 8 levels so it is actually a pretty hard game trying to get all of the insects away from getting past you. There are also spiders in the game that can actually kill you immediately so ake sure that you are avoiding these spiders at all cost because they will be your demise if you mistake them for one of the bugs that you want to kill. This is a good game for all ages and for all people regardless of gender that will take up a good chunk of time if you are waiting for the bus to come or simply have some time that you can burn. Lastly, if a bug crosses the backline and disappears, you will lose one of your lives as shown above.

One of the best tips that I can give you is to make sure that you are warming up your fingers for a nasty ride of moving your fingers to destroy all of these bugs. This is especially important if you want to try and beat the game and beat all eight levels that the game has. So making sure that you are able to move your fingers quickly and tap quickly in order to destroy these bugs is one of the best ways that you will have in order to beat all 8 levels. Frankly, if beating all 8 levels is something that is really important to you, you can get a friend to help you tap these bugs away. This means that you are able to use two hands in order to tap these bugs away and not get as tired because you are splitting the work with someone else. So you won’t get as tired over the 8 levels as you would if you were doing it solo. It is cheating a bit, but it doesn’t really matter because it would essentially be the same as having one person to use both hands.
Make sure that you know what bug does what and how you can kill it. You should know how many hits it takes to kill a green ant or what happens when you meet the ladybird. I’ll go over these soon, but make sure you know what each bug looks like so that you aren’t spending extra taps trying to kill a bug that was dead after two taps. This will save you a ton of time while you are trying to kill these small bugs and give you more time to kill bugs that require more taps like the ladybird compared to the normal ant. This will basically get you as far as you can in terms of reaction times and being able to destroy all of the bugs that you possibly can. So there is a limit in terms of how well you can do in the game and if you don’t have the tapping speed necessary to get past level 8 and destroy those pesky cockroaches.
Now I’ll go over every single ant type so that you know what to expect when you get into the game and start grinding levels.
First of all, there are these normal ants in level one that you will experience in every single level in the game. These bugs only require a single tap in order to destroy. They are the easiest bugs to kill and getting these tiny bugs become a good thing so that you are not facing the really hard bugs like intelligent ants. These are pretty easy to hit and kill so you shouldn’t have any trouble killing these tiny bugs.
the next bugs are blue ants. These ants are basically the same as normal ants except they are able to zig back and forth from side to side so that they are harder to hit than normal ants. These are still pretty easy and in level 2, you will still see a decently easy level that you don’t have to worry about your lives.
The next level is even easier than that. There are green ants that you can tap in one hit that will grant you another life if you were missing a life before, so these are essentially heal ants that you should tap if you are getting low on your three lives. You should look for these especially if you are low on lives on the later levels so that you can suffer a cockroach crossing your backline.
On level 4, there are intelligent ants which are indeed more intelligent than their counterparts, normal ants. They have helmets that you have to smash in order to break their helmet. Then, they are just normal ants. So essentially, these are just normal ants that take two taps in order to kill them. Try and double tap them as quickly as possible in order to try and practice doing it quickly in the later rounds when it is more important to play the game quickly.
On level 5, another hazard comes into the game. There are spiders that are included on the surface. These spiders are deadly and can kill you if you accidently tap them. So this really practices your accuracy with how well and how directly you can point and tap the right target. Just make sure that you are avoiding these small spiders so that you don’t get screwed!
On level 6, the ladybird shows up which is basically the same as both the intelligent ants and the normal ants except these guys have a harder shell and take three taps to clear them away. Once again, try and do it as quickly as possible so that you can practice tapping them away quickly.
On level 7, the strongest red ants come out. You aren’t tapping anymore, but rather you have to hold your finger on the screen long enough on the red ant so that it explodes and dies. These are a big time consumer that takes quite a while in order to kill it.
If you make it far enough, you will get to level 8. Level 8 is where all havoc breaks loose and you face the cockroaches which take a whole 10 to 12 taps in order to destroy. These can take a while, but if you are quick enough on the taps, you can do it pretty quickly.
The game is pretty technically fun because of its simplicity and the lack of too much complication. Because of the fact that there are only 8 different kinds of bugs which pretty much all have the same effect like the intelligent ants and normal ants, it is all pretty simple and is a lot of fun to play regardless of what age you are. It provides a ton of fun because the controls are so simple, but you can be on a tap frenzy trying to get all of the bugs smashed before they reach your backline. This is always a fun type of game because it gets your friends involved when they see you playing this type of game, so people kind of look towards you for this game and they also download it themselves and try and beat the level that you are on. It kind of spreads to other people and gets that kind of competition aura going.
I really do have fun playing these kinds of games because they make you want to play more even though it is super repetitive because you constantly want to try and get past all of those levels, but ultimately if you do manage to finish the game and all 8 levels, it is not really much fun after that because you have beat the game and it’s not exactly that much fun to continuously finish the game. That’s why I think that the producer needs to have different sets of levels so that if the player beats the first 8 rounds, then he has to face off against another set of 8 rounds where it gets ever so slightly harder so that people are always constantly playing and ultimately the producer will get more money from it. It kind of feels like the producer was proactive enough to make the game and make a bunch of bug fixes, but too lazy to make another set of 8 rounds where there are maybe a couple of new bugs and new things to do, but I don’t know. Maybe he is already working on that and looking to release it with a new update sometime soon.

I would give Ant Smasher a 9/10. I think that the artwork in Ant Smasher is pretty decent with all of the ants because they are pretty well drawn and the fingers are also pretty realistic. I don’t see anything to complain about or anything with the artwork. It is really pretty and pretty detailed that it might look like the bugs are actually alive.
Music and SFX
I would give Ant Smasher a 4/10. There is no actual music to the game besides this weird “foresty” type tune that the game gives you, but it would be better if you just used your own music while the game was playing because it’s not really that satisfying to hear the crunch of the bugs unless you really like that. I’m not really sure that the sound effects are a bit over exaggerated, but I will say that they are pretty disgusting which completely fits the game and how it is played.
Story and Originality
I would give Ant Smasher a 3/10. There is, once again, no story to this game. Ant Smasher is simply about killing as many ants and bugs as you can without letting them cross into your territory and killing you. I guess a possible story that they could have used was like these bugs killed your father or something super cheesy like that which would be really funny and amusing for players to play through and a bit of extra fun for a fun game like this.
General Gameplay
I would give Ant Smasher a 7/10. I think that the gameplay of Ant Smasher is unique in that you are basically just tapping as the controls of the game, but it is also so complex in the number of times you have to tap each bug and who you can tap and who you can’t to a point where it is pretty fun to play the game because you are just spamming your device and trying to smash those bugs when you don’t notice a spider and then the whole thing is over. These kind of frenzy games is what makes a game really popular because of how fun it is to play with friends.
Addictiveness
I would give Ant Smasher a 8/10. Ant Smasher is pretty addicting as long as you are still failing to get to the eighth level and win. It makes you want to keep on running through the levels and wanting to complete all 8 levels so that you can proclaim yourself a successful bug smasher, but if you do end up beating the game, it isn’t as fun because you know that you beat it and there is nothing really motivating you after that. It’s also really fun to play with friends, so there is that going for Ant Smasher because your friends and you will get into the game. So really, as long as you are losing in Ant Smasher, you will continue to have as much fun as when you started the game.

Overall, I would give Ant Smasher a 7/10.
