Imagine being the owner of a small hotel, and it is your dream to expand and become one of the most successful hotels in the world. In Hotel Story: Resort Simulation that is exactly what you have to do. Construct new rooms, shops and decorations, attract more tourists and start expanding your hotel, in this very nice resort simulation game! Hotel Story: Resort Simulation has been developed and successfully released by game developer Happy Labs, and is very popular among casual mobile gamers. The game has been downloaded over five million times with an astonishing rating of 4.3 out of 5 on Google Play Store and a 4 out of 5 star rating on iOS App Store. Hotel Story: Resort Simulation is free to download and play on both Android and iOS devices, and does not require an internet connection to play.
In Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, you play as a hotel owner, and your goal is to turn your small hotel into the world’s most successful resort. You start off with a very small hotel, which only has a few bedrooms and shops, and you will have to purchase and construct more bedrooms, shops, decorations and other things in order to attract more tourists. There are a lot of different items you can construct in your hotel, and it all depends on you how you would like to arrange them. Whenever you construct a building in Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, you will notice that one of your construction workers will be unavailable, and it takes him a certain amount of time to finish constructing what you have ordered him. At the beginning of the gameplay, these construction times are only a few minutes, but later on these can increase to several hours.
Whenever you have constructed a lot of rooms and other objects in your hotel, you will notice that you will get more and more tourists and visitors. Each bedroom, shop and other facilities will earn you gold coins. You can collect the gold coins by tapping on them above the rooms. Gold coins are the primary currency of the game, and you will need them in order to purchase and construct more things into your hotel. Those things range from basic bedrooms to very advanced cat cafes, which cost millions of gold coins. Constructing more advanced things in your hotel will also attract more visitors, thus you will earn more gold coins.
At one point, you will run out of room in your hotel, which means that you cannot construct anything else. However, if you have enough gold coins, you can expand your hotel, which would allow you to continue constructing new things. You can keep repeating this, but you should be aware that expanding your hotel can cost a pretty penny.
If you have friends that play Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, you can add them to your friends list and visit each other’s hotels. While you are visiting, you can give tips in stores, and receive tips when your friends visit your hotels. This is another way to earn some gold coins, and it is always nice to see how your friends are progressing through the game.
Hotel Story: Resort Simulation In-game store
In Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, there are two different kinds of currencies. The first currency is called the gold coins, which you can easily obtain by playing the game, collecting them from visitors in your hotel rooms, earning them from purchases in your shops etc. The second currency is called premium diamonds, which are not easy to obtain by playing the game. You can earn diamonds by completing certain quests, but even if you do, the amount of diamonds that you earn will not be a lot.
You can use gold coins to purchase new items in the in-game store, and construct them. Items include bedrooms, baths, libraries, supermarkets, decorations and the list goes on. The items that you can purchase are things that you would generally see in a real life hotel or resort. You can use diamonds to speed up your actions and constructions. Constructing a bedroom for example, will take several minutes. If you do not want to wait for this, you can use several diamonds to instantly construct the bedroom and start earning gold coins from it. Constructing rooms and other items in Hotel Story: Resort Simulation also requires you to have a construction worker available for the job. At the start of the game, you only have two construction workers, which means that you can construct two things at a time. With premium diamonds, you can hire more construction workers, but this is very expensive.
You can purchase premium diamonds with real money, if you wish to do so. The price for premium diamonds starts at $1,99 for the smallest amount of 200 diamonds and goes up till $49,99 for the largest amount of 6500 diamonds. Purchasing any amount of diamonds in the in-game store will also remove all the advertisements in the game. You can use premium diamonds to purchase gold coins, when you are low on them. The price for gold coins starts at 10 diamonds for the smallest amount of 1000 gold coins and goes up till 1000 diamonds for the largest amount of 139.000 gold coins.
You can earn free premium diamonds in Hotel Story: Resort Simulation by either watching advertisement videos or completing offers through Tapjoy. The offers on Tapjoy usually entail that you have to either fill in a survey or download a game or app and test it out. Once you have completed the offer, you will be awarded with a certain amount of premium diamonds.

There are a lot of websites on the internet that are offering cheat tools, hack tools or mods for Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, which can allegedly give you an unlimited amount of gold coins and premium diamonds, if you decide to use them. Of course, this sounds too good to be true, yet a lot of people still fall for this trick. The websites that offer such tools are only out to scam people and make them fill in surveys, before they can start downloading the so called cheat tool for Hotel Story: Resort Simulation. Every survey that gets filled in, generates an income for the developers of the fake cheat tool websites, which is all they really want. The websites usually have fake guarantee logos and testimonials, in order to try to convince people into filling in the surveys. Once they have filled in a survey and downloaded the so called cheat tool, they will quickly find out that they have been scammed, and they have wasted their times and potentially put their computers at risk. Hotel Story: Resort Simulation Gameplay Tips and Tricks
While you are playing Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, you will notice that there are a lot of very annoying and obstructive advertisements in the game. You can remove all of the advertisements by making a purchase in the in-game store, but not everyone wants to, or can spend money on a free-to-play game. This doesn’t mean that those people have to endure all of those advertisements, because I know a trick to get rid of them for free. All you have to do before you start up Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, is putting your mobile device on Airplane Mode. This action disconnects you from any kind of internet connection, which you do not need to play Hotel Story: Resort Simulation. You will notice that there are no more advertisements in the game, due to the fact that they need an internet connection, in order to be pushed onto your mobile device. Once you are done playing Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, you can turn off Airplane Mode and use your mobile device as usual.
There are also a lot of annoying construction timers in Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, which means that you have to wait a certain amount of time before you can continue playing the game. To get rid of those timers, you can use the Time-lapse cheat, which entails that you forward the time on your mobile device, in order to fool Hotel Story: Resort Simulation into thinking that a certain amount of time has really passed by. It is not guaranteed that the Time-lapse cheat will work, but it is better than to wait for those annoying and long timers.
Before I started playing Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, I could already imagine how the gameplay would be, due to the fact that I have played other games by the same developers. Even though the developers are known to use the same graphics and game mechanics in a lot of their games, it does not take away that Hotel Story: Resort Simulation is an entertaining and enjoyable game to play. The graphics are very nice and remind me of Anime shows, and the soundtracks and sound effects really fit the overall theme of the game. Once you get used to the gameplay, you will still find out that there are a lot of features that you haven’t tapped yet, which keeps the gameplay fresh. The developers managed to create yet another balanced game, and even though Hotel Story: Resort Simulation is a very entertaining game to play, there are also several negative aspects about it.
For starters, the developers have implemented a lot of very annoying pop-up advertisements in the game. The advertisements show up at random times, but it feels like the developers want to trick people into accidently tapping on them. This would generate ad revenue for the developers, but it also makes the game feel like a cheap cash grab. I have nothing against free-to-play games that have advertisements in them, but the developers should know how to place the advertisements in such a way, that they will not annoy or obstruct the gameplay. The worst part about the advertisements in Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, is the fact that if you accidently tap on one of them, your game will close down and your browser will start up. This is a huge turn off from the game for me and others, and the developers should look into fixing this.
The second negative aspect about Hotel Story: Resort Simulation is the fact that it seems like a lot of items are very expensive in the game, especially when you progress through the gameplay. Of course, the developers offer you to purchase gold coins and premium diamonds in the in-game store, so you will not have to wait for the timer to run out, but this also makes the game feel cheap in my opinion. The developers should reward loyal players, instead of punishing them with things such as construction timers and Expensive currencies.
Hotel Story: Resort Simulation Ratings
Artwork: I give Hotel Story: Resort Simulation an 8/10 for its artwork. The graphics in Hotel Story: Resort Simulation is what you would expect from it, after you have checked out the screenshots of the game in the app stores. I really like the fact that the graphics are similar to Anime, which is very cute and really fits with the overall gameplay of the game. The gameplay is really entertaining and feels alive, due to the fact that Hotel Story: Resort Simulation has a lot of animations and special effects implemented in it. I like seeing characters walking around in my hotel, and the fact that I can tell if they are happy or not. In my opinion, animations are what makes or breaks a mobile game, and the developers seem to know this.
Music & SFX: I give Hotel Story: Resort Simulation an 8/10 for its music and SFX. It is very nice to hear when a mobile game has several different soundtracks and a lot of different sound effects implemented in it. The gameplay becomes way more entertaining and a lot of people will have an enjoyable time due to this fact. It is nice that both the soundtracks and sound effects are easy on the ears and do not disturb the players while they are playing Hotel Story: Resort Simulation. I also like the fact that the soundtracks and SFX fit the overall theme of the game, and are combined perfectly together with both the graphics and animations.
Story & Originality: I give Hotel Story: Resort Simulation a 5/10 for its story and originality. It really feels like Hotel Story: Resort Simulation is a very original game, but unfortunately, the same developer that developed Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, takes the game designs and simply implements other game ideas into them. This means that there are several games with different names and themes, yet they have the same game mechanics, looks and gameplays. I have played other games by game developer Happy Labs, and it is a shame that they decided to do this with a lot of their games. There is also no story behind the game, other than that you are the owner of a small hotel and you are trying to expand it and be the best hotel owner ever.
General Gameplay: I give Hotel Story: Resort Simulation an 8/10 for general gameplay. The gameplay in Hotel Story: Resort Simulation starts with a small tutorial, in which you will learn the basics of the game. After the tutorial ends, the gameplay will become pretty straightforward, but luckily there are a lot of features and items to explore and construct. Thanks to being able to visit your friends’ hotels, the gameplay is more entertaining in my opinion. The controls are responsive and can be adjusted in the settings, and the user interface is nice and clear, allowing you to easily navigate through the game.
Addictiveness: I give Hotel Story: Resort Simulation a 7/10 for addictiveness. Hotel Story: Resort Simulation is a very entertaining and addictive game to play, but unfortunately there are also a few aspects that ruined the addictiveness for me, and probably a lot of other players. For starters, to be able to construct buildings and earn money in Hotel Story: Resort Simulation, you will have to wait for the timer to run out. Of course, you can instantly complete actions by spending premium diamonds, but they are very hard to obtain and cost a lot of money in the in-game store. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of annoying advertisements in the game.
All things considered, I give Hotel Story: Resort Simulation a 7/10.
