Up Hill Racing: Hill Climb Hack & Cheats for Coins

Up Hill Racing Hill Climb is a racing game published by an almost unknown company named “topappgame” which developed or published only 3 other apps on Google Play: Hill Racing Christmas Special, Mad Motor Racing and War of Kings. The game is available only on Android and it supposedly has nothing to do with Hill Climb Racing developed by Fingersoft. It has a rating of 4.0 out of 5 on Google Play and it has been downloaded for more than 10 million times. For an optimal experience of the game  the user is required to have an Android version of at least 2.3.

In Up Hill Racing Hill Climb  you take the role of a vehicle enthusiast who likes to climb hills located in various places starting with more common ones such as the countryside and continuing upon reaching the hills of planet Mars.

The game doesn’t require a mandatory sign-up and you can’t link any existent social account with it. There is out of discussion a possible cloud saving option because Up Hill Racing Hill Climb doesn’t even require Google Play Services to run. It is disappointing that in 2015, an eventual replacement of a mobile device will make the user lose all the progress he made and start over again.

Up Hill Racing Hill Climb has a resource that acts like a currency called Coins. You get them by just playing the game or, if you hate to wait, by buying them with real money. The price for Coins varies, starting with $1.99 for 42,000 and going up to $49.99 in exchange of 2,000,000 Coins. It is worth saying that any purchase removes all the ads in the game (which are more than a few).

Cheats & Tips for Up Hill Racing: Hill Climb

  • Each time you get a record (surpass your previous score) on a level, you will get additional bonus coins.

  • Use the Brake button to back up your car. It may seem weird, but that’s the way it is.
  • No matter how short a race is going to be, you will receive some coins for your trouble.
  • Upgrading your car doesn’t necessarily mean that you will get over obstacles easier. You will have much more engine power so if you go at full speed, your chance to flip is greatly increased.
  • Avoid Pulley and F1. Those vehicles (Pulley is hardly considered one) can’t be used on anything but flat surfaces and that will be something you will not often encounter.

  • Take notice that your vehicle runs on Gas and it depletes regardless your speed or way of driving. You will find enough Gas Tanks scattered around the world to finish the race but you must continuously advance.
  • You receive a lot of Coins if you manage to do some air time or, if you are really skilled (and lucky), to complete some backflips. Don’t rely on them though; they are very hard to master.
  • Collect coins until you can unlock Mars. You are not required to unlock the level in any particular order and the gravity of Mars will help you with getting your desired Coins faster.
  • Right before (or after) you crash or ran out of fuel do this simple useful trick: Pause the game and restart it. You will keep your previously earned coins and you start from the beginning without losing time with choosing the level, the car and its upgrades.
  • One of the most balanced cars (but very expensive as well) is the Armored. You can basically win almost every level with it.

Up Hill Racing Hill Climb Review

There is a time for every person who loves to make reviews when they will stumble upon an interesting idea trapped in an awful game. And that game unfortunately is called Up Hill Racing Hill Climb. I honestly don’t understand the rather high rating the game has because the experience the game leaves you with is anything but pleasant.

I can think of three or four things I like about Up Hill Racing Hill Climb. Firstly, the idea of using different vehicles for climbing hills in various layouts is pretty interesting and fun. Who would have taught a F1 car can do that (seriously, don’t buy it, very bad idea). Secondly, I like that even though the game uses Gas so cars can only run for a limited period of time that doesn’t disrupts the amount of time you are able to play it. You don’t have to ask your Facebook friends for Gas or worse (wait for the Gas to fill up by itself or pay real money for it). Thirdly, I think that the difficulty of the game is suited – you can’t just press Accelerate and wait for the race to end. You must approach tactics depending on the terrain and that’s a good thing. In the end, I can say that I am hopeful about the future of the game because it has a bit of potential – someone out there must have the ability to put it in the spotlight.

On the other hand, the things I don’t really like about Up Hill Racing Hill Climb are plenty. For example, I hate the fact that you don’t have a multiplayer implementation or at least some leaderboards. The game is purely single-player and you can’t do anything about it. Also, unlocking all the cars and levels will take an enormous amount of time if you don’t want to invest any real money. Personally, I would have segmented a big level in smaller levels and added objectives and ratings (3 stars for a perfect race for example). That way, lowering the price of the vehicles and of the maps wouldn’t have made the game too short. If adding multiplayer is not a good idea, at least a system of achievements would have helped the game a lot. In terms of gameplay, they should rethink the way the car acts and maybe add more options about how you control it.

Overall, Up Hill Racing Hill Climb is a game I wouldn’t recommend to anybody. A new highly improved version would be something I would consider sharing with my friends but the current one has no chance.

Ratings

Artwork: Up Hill Racing Hill Climb gets 6 out of 10 for its artwork. Unfortunately, there aren’t many good things I can say about the way the game looks. The theme is colorful yet dull and the environment is sadly an old 2D environment that looks bad. The cars are decent but they aren’t even close to a level where a car model from a nowadays game should be. The only relatively good part is that some of the other game’s levels are looking a bit better – probably because on the Downhill level there isn’t much light. The game animations are few and also a joke – pretty sure you can realize them in MS Paint.

Music & SFX: I give the game a rating of 6 out of 10 for this section. At first I considered the soundtrack pretty funny and somehow suited for the game. The problems appeared when I realized that the soundtrack is basically a 20 seconds song that repeats indefinitely. The music of the game is the definition of insanity – the same thing over and over again (I copied this line from FarCry 3, I admit). Unfortunately, the sound effects are also bad because they are almost non-existent and the few that you can hear aren’t standing out in any way.

Story/Originality: I give the game a rating of 5 out of 10 for this segment. The game doesn’t have a story whatsoever and even if it would have had, I don’t think it would have helped much. There are more than a few similar games on the market and almost all of them are better. Up Hill Racing Hill Climb doesn’t have any good original elements and that’s disappointing. I like the idea of the weird vehicles that the developers chosen for the hill climbing but that’s about it.  There is a mountain to climb (see what I did here?) to make the game feel authentic in any way.

General Gameplay: Up Hill Racing Hill Climb gets a rating of 6 out of 10 for its gameplay. You don’t have a tutorial but that’s not really a problem because the gameplay is pretty straight forward. I don’t like that I had to find by myself that I must use the Brake in order to reverse drive. The game is full of bugs and the physics doesn’t apply like it should. The car flips randomly, can’t “conquer” relatively easy hills and I can go like this for days. Because of the ads, Up Hill Racing Hill Climbs can get pretty laggy but that’s the least of its issues, trust me.

Addictiveness: I give Up Hill Racing Hill Climb a rating of 6 out of 10 for its addictiveness. Like you probably already realized I am really not a fan of the game because it’s bad in a lot of “departments” and it doesn’t seem it can change my opinion. I appreciate the fact that there are several maps where you can play and a few different cars that you can choose from but that’s not nearly enough to consider a game addictive. Unfortunately, it lacks a good artwork, a good atmosphere and a good gameplay. There is no extra content available and it looks like the game will not receive any significant updates in the near future.

Overall, Up Hill Racing Hill Climb gets a rating of 5.8 out of 10. The game is below average and only major changes can help overcome its big flaws.
