Strawberry Short Cake Sweet Shop is a game where you have to create desserts so that you can unlock other desserts following Strawberry short cake’s voice in order to guide you through the process.  The first thing that you will be able to do in Strawberry Short Cake Sweet Shop is making a ton of desserts for your friends who will be gladly accepting these cakes without any hesitation or money.  So the first thing that you should know about this game is that it has pretty much nothing to do with having a business and then trying to get sales and everything like that by making cakes and purchasing ingredients or anything like that.

Then, after you have made enough cakes to get five stars on a specific cake that you make for people, you will get to make a completely new dessert that you can start making for different people which you can then start to gather a couple of different desserts that you can start making some different desserts and will eventually give you the recipe after you make it the first time.  So the goal is a bit of like trying to get all the recipes so that you can make these desserts in real life.  In order to start making the desserts, you will go through some processes in order to start to make your dessert perfect.  Sometimes you will be pouring in the correct amount of ingredients as well as stirring some of your desserts and then occasionally blending it all together in order to make some sort of shake that you can kind of drink and then give to other people.

If you don’t know what to do, put in your headphones and then Strawberry Shortcake will help guide you through what you need to do in the game when you start trying to make a cake.  So you can go ahead and listen to whatever Strawberry Shortcake wants you to do in the game and you should be well off in the game to making whatever you make.

With getting these better tools, you will also be able to get to create their desserts quicker so it won’t take as long in order to create the desserts so you won’t have to spend as much time making the desserts.  After you are done creating your dessert, you will be able to share it using the Parent’s corner, which is essentially where you are able to save the desserts that you make and then share it with other people.  There are a ton of different available customization options that you get with the game when you make your desserts, but not all of them will be available when you start the game.  It is essentially rounds and rounds of the exact same kind of dessert making where you make all the desserts you can think of and then unlock some decoration or some ingredient that you can use in order to make a different dessert or make a version of some kind of dessert so you can just make a different kind of the same dessert.

The in-app purchases in Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop are probably the most important aspects of the game because it is where all of the content is located.  Without the in-game purchases, you won’t be able to make anything other than a smoothie and you also won’t have too much of a variety on that smoothie.  So by unlocking the different items that are available through Strawberry Short Cake Sweet Shop, you will be able to create a ton of different desserts and be able to get a ton of variety on the items and everything else in the game that it has to offer.  I will talk about my thoughts about that later in the review, so stay tuned in.

There are literally no tips that I could give you for Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop because it is such a simplistic game that involves the use of a guide throughout the entire game to where someone of almost any age who has somewhat of an idea of what to do in this game would be able to figure out and do everything that was possible.  If you are reading this as a parent of a kid who wants to download the game and you want to help them, the only way that I will be able to help you is through the in-app purchases and how to make good choices with that

First of all, I would recommend that you figure out whether your child is one of those kids who gets really committed to a game and can’t stop for years or several months at a time and they probably won’t stop until they have completed the entire game.  For those kids, I would say that you should e the whole package in the game instead of getting everything individually for them unless you are trying to limit how much they are playing the game.  You should purchase the whole thing because it is pretty significantly cheaper than trying to every individual component of the entire game through the in-app purchases to the point where it is so much cheaper to get the entire package first so that you are able to save money.  If your child is that nagging, of course, and you can’t take it, then you should also follow this plan if you don’t want to hear your child for days on end.

However, if your child is one to get over games really quickly, then it is not worth getting the game and just weathering the storm in terms of how much you are getting to get berated by them.  The actual content and the game time is really short and it doesn’t take too long to finish the entire game.  An additional note to that, is that there are a ton of different games which are also free which have a lot more content for it being free rather than a game which is berated so much by in-app purchases that after you make your first smoothie, then you are pretty much screwed in terms of trying to get  anything else to make in this game.  If your child isn’t one to complain, it is also likely that they will just move on from the game because it simply isn’t fn after there is no variety in the game.  It is really boring and not really that much fun to play, but I’ll get more in depth about why later in this review.

Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop Review

I think that while Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop has some really nice graphics that really show the colors well and really optimize how much gameplay there is with how much cash they are going to get, that is really their downfall.  The only free part of this game is basically making a smoothie and even that isn’t really a true free game with the fact that you can’t even choose the color of the straw that you want to put in the smoothie.  You are basically limited after your very first dessert and then you are stuck with the option to quit playing the game or simply just buying everything that is in the game because truthfully, even if you get a small in-app purchase in Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop, you will get about five minutes of extra gameplay and then you will be forced with the exact same situation.  This makes for a really bad game that really seems like it is trying to feed off of the emotions of kids and making their parents pay for that.

It kind of forces the parent to spend their money on this game without even noticing that the game is really short in terms of how long it takes for the game to finish up.  It is basically a freemium game that you won’t get anything out of unless you are spending a ton of money with an upwards of $30 in order to get the entire package and this doesn’t even account for future updates with additional items that may be available in the game.  It features an extremely popular character that kids are extremely attracted to and uses it in order to get kids to start downloading the app and then starting to play it because it is a “free” game when actually it gets kids so hooked onto the game and listening to Strawberry Shortcake, that parents end up having to spend money on the game or listen to their kids whine for the next 24 hours.  It’s a pretty sick money making scheme, but it does work, so I really will compliment them for how well they did in getting kids to download the app through the “free” idea and then getting them to get their parents to spend some cash on a supposedly free game.

I would give Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop a 7/10.  I think that the artwork is good overall because it does feature the Strawberry Shortcake members in the background and the actual graphics and animation in the game to make the dessert are pretty good, but with what you can get in the free version of the game is just pretty simplistic with nothing particularly attractive about it and its artwork, but I would still say that the producers did a good job on the artwork of the game and really makes it attractive for kids to play.

Music and SFX

I would give Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop a 3/10.  The music is really non-existent and you don’t really notice it the entire time that you are playing, but you are rather hearing more of the sound effects that the game gives off which usually consists of the blending noises that you might hear when you blend something yourself as well as the classic dumping of water or some other ingredients, so it is pretty good, but not that great.

Story and Originality

I would give Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop a 2/10.  There is a pretty below average story in this game where you are making some dessert for your friends and then they give you some gold stars for giving you that kind of dessert.  If it were more of a money making game and you were trying to expand a business, I’m sure it would be more appealing.  This kind of cooking and using animated characters is used pretty often, so I also can’t say that it is entirely original.

General Gameplay

I would give Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop a 0/10.  I think that the gameplay is way too simplistic and way too limited without in-app purchases in my opinion.  I can understand that this game was made for kids, but there is really so little to do in the game and along with that, there is so little to do after you are done with your first dessert without spending any money on the game.  They need to both add to the amount of gameplay in the game like some skill based mini game or something like that, as well as making the game a bit more free than it is right now.

Addictiveness

I would give Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop a 3/10.  I think that the game is pretty addicting for little kids, but it is also pretty boring for kids who are probably older than 10.  I think that the gameplay is too simple for older kids but just perfect for younger kids who really enjoy Strawberry Shortcake herself and will end up enjoying the game.

Overall, I would give Strawberry Shortcake Sweet Shop a 2/10.
