I think everyone has heard about Yu-Gi-Oh! Be it through the popular television show or the trading card game. Now you will be able to duel against your favorite characters or other players around the world, because Konami has decided to release a Yu-Gi-Oh! Game on mobile platforms. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation has been developed and successfully released by game developer Konami Digital Entertainment, and is pretty popular among Yu-Gi-Oh! Fans. The game has been downloaded over one million times with a rating an astonishing rating of 4.2 out of 5 on Google Play Store and a 4.5 out of 5 star rating on iOS App Store. You can download and play Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation for free on both Android and iOS devices, and does not require an internet connection to play, unless you are looking to play the multiplayer mode.
Before you can start playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, you either have to make an account, or you have to use a guest account. If you choose to use a guest account however, you will not be able to participate in any online game modes. This means that you will be stuck playing the campaign mode, which is the single player game mode of the game. Once you have decided how you would like to play Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, the game will start up and you will be taken to the main menu. The main menu has five buttons, which are called Campaign, Deck Editor, Multiplayer, Leaderboards and Help & Options.
If you have chosen to register an account before playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, you can customize your profile. You can change your nickname and your avatar. Registering and logging in will also allow you to be part of the leaderboards, where you can check out who the best duelists are around the whole world. The main two game modes in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation are called Campaign and Multiplayer. In the campaign mode, which is also the single player mode, you will have to beat your opponents, in order to continue on with the story and unlock the next set of opponents. In the multiplayer game mode, you can be matched against random players around the world, and duel against them.
A deck in Yu-Gi-Oh contains three main card types. These are the Monster, Spell and Trap cards. Each monster card has an attack and defense statistic. You will need to combine a deck of cards, and use them to defeat your opponent. Before each duel starts, you and your opponent will have eight thousand health points, and the goal of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation is to hit your opponent as many times, until his or her health points is zero. For example, if your opponent has only two thousand health points left, and your monsters’ attack is also two thousand, you will be able to take down your opponent. Of course, there are many more aspects to a Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel, but I will only be able to tell you the simplified version of it.
After you beat an opponent, you will be awarded with a booster pack, which contains several Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards. You can use these cards to build a better deck, which you will need in order to be able to defeat harder opponents.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation In-game store
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation only has one kind of currency in it, which goes by the name of Y60 points. You can obtain Y60 points by successfully beating your opponents, which you can then use to purchase items in the in-game store. For example, you can use 600 Y60 points to purchase one booster pack. The booster pack contains five normal cards, which you can use in your deck. You can also purchase ten different booster packs, for 6000 Y60 points.
The cards in the normal booster packs are not rare, which means that you will get a lot of doubles and the cards will most likely be useless. That’s why you can purchase premium decks, for a hefty price of course. Some of the decks available in the in-game store are Dark Magician Deck for $4,99, Blue-Eyes White Dragon deck for $4,99, Elemental Hero Deck for $4,99 and the Red-Eyes Black Dragon for $4,99. There are a lot more packs available, ranging from $3,99 to $4,99 and contain premium Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards.

There are a lot of websites that offer cheat tools, hack tools or other kind of modifications for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, which you can use to allegedly give yourself unlimited amounts of Y60 points and even premium cards. Of course, this sounds too good to be true, and it is. There is absolutely no way that such tools could give you unlimited Y60 points or premium cards, no matter how much they claim they can. First of all, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation requires an internet connection to be played online. This means that there is a server, which checks everyone’s accounts and their cards etc. The websites that offer such tools are only out to trick people into filling in surveys. The surveys are a source of income for the developers of those fake cheat websites, because every survey that gets filled in, earns them money. All they want is to lure unknowing people, make them fill in surveys, and get rid of them.
After you have filled in a survey and downloaded the so called cheat tools, you will soon after find out that you have been scammed, and that you have downloaded nothing but empty shells. Instead of wasting your time, trying to find cheats for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, I will give you some tips and tricks that will help you with your gameplay.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation Gameplay Tips and Tricks
The first piece of advice I would like to share with everyone is that there is a very popular Facebook page, where you can share tips and tricks with other players. For example, if you are stuck at a certain point in the campaign mode, or you have an important question that only the developers of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation can answer, than you should definitely check out that page and like it. This way, you will always have a good source of information, whenever you are stuck in the game and do not know how to continue.
You can purchase extra booster packs in the in-game store, which require you to have a sufficient amount of Y60 points. Best way to obtain Y60 points is by playing the game and winning a lot of duels. I would suggest that you do not purchase booster packs at the beginning of your gameplay, as it can take a long time for you to collect enough good cards. You can beat the opponents at the beginning of the gameplay fairly easy, with the cards you already own. Once you have progressed through the gameplay a bit, and collected a lot of Y60 points, you should buy ten booster packs at a time. This will give you a total of fifty cards, and of course there will be duplicates in them, but you will have a higher chance in receiving better monster cards, spell cards and trap cards.
Once you have unpacked new cards, you should not forget to place them in your current deck. If you forget to do this, you will not be able to play with that card during your next duel. Sometimes it is very important to think of a good strategy, before you start a duel. Having too many monster cards can be a real disadvantage, due to the fact that your opponent will use trap and spell cards to easily destroy your monster cards.
I used to be a big fan of Yu-Gi-Oh! And never missed it when it was being broadcasted on the television. After a while, it all faded away and I didn’t hear much about Yu-Gi-Oh! Again, other than the few handheld games they brought out. When Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation was announced and released on the app stores, I was pretty excited to test it out. A really positive aspect about Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation is that there are familiar characters in the game. This means that you can relive the old times, and duel against your favorite or hated characters. I also really like the fact that you can play against random players, in the online multiplayer game mode. It is nice that you are able to set up a profile, so other players know who they are dueling against. One of the most positive aspects about Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation is the fact that there are no advertisements in the game. This means that players can play Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation without getting annoyed or obstructive, which is always nice to see in a free-to-play game.
Unfortunately, there are also several negative aspects about Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation. For starters, the gameplay feels like it is pay-to-win, due to the fact that many players spend a lot of money on purchasing different kinds of premium decks. This means that players that do not purchase any cards, will have to face players that do, and most likely lose the duel very quickly. I really dislike the fact that regular players, no matter how much time they spend on Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, will never be able to beat players who spend money and purchase premium decks. This kind of unfairness really ruins the gameplay and takes all the fun out of it. The developers should know that not everyone wants to, or can afford to spend money on a free-to-play game. A nicely build reward system might help here, because it would reward players that spend a lot of time playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, and keep them happy. They would also have a chance against paying players, which is always nice.
The second negative aspect about Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation is the fact that the single player mode is fairly short and pretty difficult later on. All you can do is beat opponents, and progress through to the next one. However, you will soon find out that you are not able to beat the opponents, due to the fact that they have a very over powered deck. Just like online players that purchase premium decks, it feels like the developers of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation are trying to make you spend money on the game. This makes Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation feel like a cheap cash grab, which is a real shame. The game has a lot of potential, and there are a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh! Fans, but they simply do not enjoy playing the game so much. If the developers could have made the game look like older Yu-Gi-Oh! Games with similar graphics and game mechanics, I have no doubt that this game will be a huge hit.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation Ratings
Artwork: I give Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation a 7/10 for its artwork. The graphics of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation are pretty decent, especially considering that it is a mobile game. However, I would have expected more from a Yu-Gi-Oh! Game, especially because it has been developed by Konami itself. It is nice to see some familiarities in the game, which you would have also seen in the television show, if you watched it. There are many animations in the game, which really make the gameplay feel more alive and entertaining.
Music & SFX: I give Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation an 8/10 for its music and SFX. There are several different soundtracks in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, which all fit the overall theme of the game pretty well. There are many sound effects in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation as well, which are all of decent quality and range from anything between Main Menu SFX to Attack and Defense SFX. Both the soundtracks and sound effects are easy on the ears, which is always important in a game. You do not want your players to get annoyed due to silly music. I think the developers did a good job by fitting the soundtracks and sound effects together, and making them work perfectly with the graphics and animations of the game.
Story & Originality: I give Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation an 8/10 for its story and originality. Yu-Gi-Oh! Is very original, even though there were many other card games at the time. This means that Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation is original as well, due to the fact that it is based off of the world’s best-selling card game. There is no real story behind the game, but you could easily make one up yourself while you are progressing through the game. It is nice that you can make your own profile, which means that everyone is a unique duelist.
General Gameplay: I give Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation a 7/10 for general gameplay. At the beginning of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, there is a nice little tutorial, which shows you how to properly play the game. Even after the tutorial is over, there is a help section in the main menu, which you can use if you are stuck on how to play the game. Once the tutorial is over, the gameplay becomes pretty straightforward, but luckily there is an online multiplayer mode implemented in the game, which keeps the gameplay fresh and entertaining. The controls are easy to get used to and the user interface fits the overall theme of the game. Unfortunately, I would have liked to see more aspects of Yu-Gi-Oh! The tv show, in the actual game.
Addictiveness: I give Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation a 7/10 for addictiveness. It is very refreshing to see that the developers of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation did not implement any kind of playtime limitations into the game. This means that you can play Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation whenever you want and for however long you want, without being limited by silly systems such as lives, energy bars and the likes. It is also very nice to see that there are no annoying and obstructive advertisements in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation, which really increases the addictiveness level of the game. Unfortunately, the game is pretty much pay-to-win, because you will not have a chance against a player who has purchased premium decks. It would have been nice to be able to obtain premium decks, without having to pay for them, which would also make the game fair.
All things considered, I give Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation a 7/10.
