Battle Glory is a pretty decent game with several positive aspects, but unfortunately, just like many other mobile games, Battle Glory also has several very negative aspects. For starters, the developers of Battle Glory have littered the game with advertisements. The advertisements are in the form of banners and pop-ups, which show up at random times.
Having advertisements in a free-to-play mobile game is very understandable, especially since the developers of those games need to earn some money for their time and effort; however, they should never go overboard. The pop-up advertisements in Battle Glory show up exactly when you are about to tap on your screen, which makes it feel like the developers of the game are trying to trick you into accidently tapping on the advertisement.
This makes Battle Glory feel like a cheap cash grab, even if the game has some nice features in it. The worst part about the advertisements in Battle Glory is that, if you accidently do tap on one of them, your game will minimalize itself and your browser will start up, redirecting you to the website of the advertiser. Artwork: I give Battle Glory an 8/10 for its artwork. Even though the graphics in Battle Glory are pretty simplistic and similar to other mobile strategy games, I still really liked it. It is nice to see that there are so many different character designs, environments, building designs and even several different war machines. I really like the fact that there are idle-animations in the game, such as when your soldiers are walking around in your base, because it makes the gameplay livelier and more entertaining.
Music & SFX: I give Battle Glory a 7/10 for its music and SFX. There is only one soundtrack and several different sound effects in Battle Glory. The soundtrack plays in the background and is in a constant loop. I did wish that there were a couple of more soundtracks in the game. Both the soundtrack and sound effects are easy on the ears and will not bother players while they are playing Battle Glory.
Story & Originality: I give Battle Glory a 6/10 for its story and originality. I have played a lot of mobile games over the years, be it on Android or iOS devices. Because of this, I can easily state that Battle Glory is not very original, because I have seen the features in this game, in many other mobile games. It is true that mobile developers usually copy game concepts and mechanics from each other, just to be able to make some money. I do like the whole idea behind Battle Glory, and it is nice to see that you are able to battle against other random players around the world. There is no story behind the game, except for what you can read on the app stores; however, I find it very easy to come up with my own story, especially in strategy a game.
General Gameplay: I give Battle Glory a 7/10 for general gameplay. The gameplay in Battle Glory starts with a tutorial, in which you learn the basics of the game, how to construct buildings, how to train troops and how to successfully attack another base. Once you have played Battle Glory for a while, the gameplay becomes pretty straightforward, but still entertaining to play, due to the fact that the game has a lot of different quests implemented in it. The user interface is crisp and clear and the controls are smooth and responsive.
Addictiveness: I give Battle Glory a 5/10 for addictiveness. It is very unfortunate to see that the developers of Battle Glory have implemented a lot of limitations into the game. I really dislike the fact that the gameplay is slow paced, because of the fact that you need to wait a certain amount of time for a building to finish constructing. Of course, you can speed things along by spending premium gems, which are pretty expensive. This also makes Battle Glory a pay-to-win game, and gives an unfair advantage to paying players. On top of that, the developers have also implemented a lot of advertisements into the game, which really lowers the addictiveness.
All things considered, I give Battle Glory a 7/10.
