Today we are back with another Big Win Sports game and this time it isn’t aimed towards soccer, which I reviewed previously, but is basketball instead. Big Win Soccer was loved by many, even I loved it but there were few things because of which Big Win Soccer couldn’t reach those heights it should have been at. Big Win basketball was released a year after its Soccer counterpart; so I expect that Hothead Games might have learned from their past experience and applied it Big Win Basketball to come over those issues which Big Win Soccer had. Get it on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
For those who don’t know, Big Win Sports is a series of online manager simulation games which are aimed towards providing users a touch of their childhood love for trading cards and their current passion for sports. Users acts as a manager, sets up a team from different cards and places them against teams from rest of the world. As of writing there are five different installments in this franchise and each of them is aimed towards a different sport.
The common issues that I had with Big Win Soccer were unmatched level battles, relying more on luck than actual strategy, stamina system and too much exploitation of users pockets’ by forcing them towards in app purchases for better players and cards, and loads of others. Now it’s time to check if developer has changed anything or they are still at the starting of the line.
Big Win Basketball uses a currency called big bucks. These are very expensive. You can get only 100 big bucks for $1.99. You’ll need a lot more to win at Big Win Basketball. Download our free Big Win Basketball hack tool to easily and freely get Big Bucks and coins.
It’s very easy to use. Take a look at the image below to see how quick and easy using our Big Win Basketball hack tool is. Just enter the amount of coins and Big Bucks you want.
Download our Big Win Basketball hack from our website. It takes 30 seconds to download. After it downloads, it’ll install. This takes about another 30 seconds. Select Android or iOS. Then, enter how many coins and Big Bucks you would like. Click the big, blue “start” button.

The initial impression of Big Win Basketball isn’t any different than the Soccer. The loading screen, the menus, all the color scheme, literally everything is similar to Big Win Soccer. The only difference that I’ve found yet is of name and there are pictures of basketball instead of Soccer. Here again, I was greeted with a pop-up asking for Facebook account synchronization. Using Facebook account has benefits, for example, faster reloading and free twenty five bucks. After logging in you’ll open your starter pack, which will provide you five player cards, one kit card, and three Big Impact Cards. After that you’ll name your team, change their kits and customize players completely, for example, hair color and style, skin color and many other options. The name of team and players are still randomly generated and doesn’t have any link with the official clubs, which means that developers still choose to cut down their expenses by not acquiring licenses for original names.
There are four game modes which sums up this game. Quick match mode will place you against any random user, irrespective of your level, which is not at all good. In Friends mode you can compete against your Facebook friends, just select users from your friends list, send them challenge and if they accept it, you’ll get the result of the match.
The third is Event mode. In event mode you’ll get one tournament at max at a time and sometimes you’ll not get even that. There isn’t any user participation limit in these tournaments; hence everyone can take a part. Every user will play fifty matches against random users. I’m strongly against this totally random placement. This way strong teams will always win, they’ll always get the best reward and newcomers or those with low levels will never have a chance. The rewards for top ranks are unique and more than enough but decreases down the line and are distributed to ranges rather than individuals.
The last mode, trophies, is somewhat satisfying because you’ll have greater chances of winning here. There are two categories here, Pro and Amateur, then these two are further divided into two tournaments, one for ten players and other for twenty. The difference between Pro and Amateur, other than bigger rewards, is that in Pro you’ll be randomly placed another user which might be higher or even lower than your level, while in Amateur you’ll always be placed against an opponent which is of your level. To get rewarded, you’ll have to stay within top five position in these tournaments, but only the top position holder gets the trophy. There are weekly, monthly, and all time leaderboards for players having the most trophies.
Before entering a match you’ll select three Big Impact cards from your inventory. These Big Impact cards are basically booster and they can help you to outclass a user with a level way higher than yours. There are twelve Big Impact cards in this game, for example, Ball Swatter which can increase the ability of your team to make blocks, Cashing in Dimes which increases the passing ability of your team, Sixth Sense increases your team’s ability to intercept passes etc. These cards can only be used once, after that they will be removed from your inventory. After selecting these card you’ll have to press the play button; so that a match could be searched for you and once it’s ready you can either watch match completely, partially or can even go for the highlights only. Here the noticeable differences between this and Big Win Soccer is the duration of matches, which is longer now, and inclusion of highlights which is a good option for those who wants to watch match quickly. Watching a complete match can help you to point out weakness of your team so that you can use Big Impact Cards or get new players to overcome them.
Other than a team, there’s another thing which is required to play a match and that is Energy. There are ten slots in your energy bar and each match consumes one of them. With Facebook account logged in, five minutes are required for charging a single slot otherwise ten minutes are required.
Winning a single match doesn’t give much as compared to an event or a trophy. You’ll get one hundred fans and coins for winning a match, ten fans and fifty coins for losing a match, and these rewards are independent of the rival team’s level, which I think doesn’t do justice with the users. These fans that you get after finishing a match has a role to play in upbringing of your team, more precisely in level of your team. The number of fan required to rise level increases for higher levels, and the rewards of coins and bucks that you get after rising a level, they also increases.
Big Win Basketball offers bulk of customization, and My Team is a section dedicated to that. In this section, you can monitor health of your players and heal if anyone of them is injured. You can also change the playing members with substitutions, and customize the players completely. There are Add Skill cards, which can be used to increase the ability of a player to improve his current skills, and then there are upgrade Skill cards which are used to improve those skills, or let me put it this way that upgrade skill card can only be used if the player has the ability to use it and the eligible players will be highlighted with red exclamation marks, and that eligibility is achieved by Add Skill cards.
Team Chemistry is another thing that you’ll have to take care of when it comes to overall strength of the team. The starting players that you get aren’t playing on their natural position; so you’ve to get new players from new cards and put them on their natural playing position, doing it so will give each of their skill a five point boost. As previously mentioned, you can change the name, skin color, hair color, face shape, and many other things of a player, and even uniform kit of whole team too. Big Win Basketball has contracts system for players and I didn’t like it in Big Win Soccer and my opinion isn’t any different here too. Every player can be renewed but for a specific times. You’ll be using gold, silver, and bronze renewal cards, each offering varying amount of matches which can be played by player after renewing their contracts.
Just like me, you might also have noticed there isn’t much difference between this review and of Big Win Soccer and that’s because the games are totally similar except word Soccer is replaced by basketball. The store section of this game too isn’t divergent in any way. There are two currencies, coins and bucks. Coins is the secondary currency of this game and all the basic and minor things, for example, bronze cards, injury repair etc. are purchased using this currency. Bucks on the other hand is the primary and the premium currency of this game. As its primary currency, it can be converted into coins, one bucks is equivalent to three hundred coins but the vice versa isn’t applicable.
Store is divided into two categories, Standard and Premium, and these names also inflicts the affordability of the card packs in them. There are five packs in both of these categories. Standard packs are:
Bronze – This pack includes Bronze players, Bronze Uniform, Big Impact cards, Bronze Kits, Bronze contacts, and Bronze skills boosts with rare chances for Silver material and Skill cards. Price of this pack is one fifty coins.
Silver – This pack contains Big Impact Cards, Silver Players, Contracts, Silver Skill Boosts and Silver uniforms. Price of this pack is one thousand coins.
Gold – It features Gold and Standard Big Impact cards, Gold Players, Contracts, Gold Skill Boosts, Gold Kits, and Add Skill Cards with rare chances for Platinum Players and other cards. This one costs ten bucks instead of coins.
Players – The price of this pack is one hundred bucks, which might be high but I believe this pack has the most value is it definitely give gold players with chances of platinum players.
Big Rush – This is special edition pack and isn’t available always. The price of this can vary and there are chances of getting a superstar player out of it.
The five premium packs are as follows:
Big Impact – This is the cheapest pack of this category and yet costs fifty bucks. This pack will only give you Gold Impact Cards.
Big Boosts – This pack costs eighty bucks and is exclusively dedicated to platinum skill boost cards.
Big Contracts – Price of this pack is fifty bucks. This pack is exclusively dedicated to Gold Contracts. These Gold contracts will allow you to re-sign players for minimum fifty matches.
Big Players – This pack contains the best players, a.k.a platinum players. At a price of four hundred bucks, this is the most expensive pack of the game.
Big Uniform – Those users that likes customization then they can this try this pack otherwise for me it’s just a waste of money. It contains Gold uniforms card and costs eight bucks.
As you have seen that the price of these packs isn’t low by any means, which also means that there should be something that benefits both the users and developer, and that something is few cheapish methods to give users free coins and bucks. These methods includes watching short video advertisements, installing and playing games, completing surveys, and even selling previously owned card for a lesser price.
If you’re not willing to waste your money rather than time on previously mentioned acts, then you can check in-app purchases section of this game. There are five packs. The first one costs $1.99 and gives one hundred bucks in return. The second pack takes $4.99 and returns four hundred bucks. The third pack gives one thousand bucks for $9.99. The fourth pack costs $24.99 and gives three thousand bucks. The last package, Truckload of Big Bucks, costs $99.99 and gives fifteen thousand bucks in return.
Big Win Basketball’s current version is 3.9 and requires a device with either minimum Android 2.3.3 (gingerbread) or iOS 5.0. The only issue which I faced in this version was few random shutdowns, other than that it should work smoothly on all recent devices, even low-ends.
Big Win Basketball too, just like Big Win Soccer, doesn’t have any kind of modified or hack versions because this game requires an internet connection even for starting; hence modified versions isn’t possible nor the device time changing for quick energy recharging can work. The only things which can help you are practice and tips. Few tips are:
Big Win Basketball is almost same as Big Win Soccer except few changes. In my review of Big Win Soccer I notified that sound department lacked speech other than that it was perfect and now with Big Win Basketball they have answered that query but sound isn’t detailed and amusing as it was in Soccer. The second difference that lies between two brothers is the camera view angle during match. In soccer it was from top but now they have opted for side angle. Both angles suits their respective games but I’ve to say that watching Big Win Soccer was a bit more enjoying but it doesn’t means that basketball is bad, the match is just a bit lengthier as compared to Soccer.
Other than previously mentioned differences, the UI and rest of the artwork is same, easy to understand and attractive. Animations doesn’t show any kind of friction. The colors has a slightly yellowish tint which gives the artwork more natural feeling. The background soundtracks are slightly different and this one too doesn’t feel repetitive.
The complete gameplay, every single inch of it is derived from Soccer edition which also means that the game inherits same issues which we had with Big Win Soccer. I opened approximately eight bronze packs and only got one player out of it, the case was same for silver packs. The issue of poor level matching continues to ruin otherwise could have been an awesome game. My winning ratio was certainly better here as compared to soccer but that wasn’t for long and same issue of losing matches to weaker opponents still persists. Developer didn’t even solve a single issue which we had with Big Win Soccer.
Ratings
Artwork: I’ll give Big Win Basketball an 8.5/10 for its artwork. The change of angle was required in this game but the artwork is less action packed here.
Music & SFX: I’ll give this game another 8.5/10 for music & SFX. This game is another exception when it comes to sound department. Inclusion of speech was something required but not at the expense of other details.
Story & Originality: I’ll give Big Win Basketball a 6/10 for its story & Originality. As I’ve mentioned previously that there isn’t any significant difference between this game and its soccer counterpart. The recipe to make this game was easy take Big Win Soccer’s coding, change player names and pictures, and Big Win Basketball is ready.
Gameplay: Big Win Basketball gets a 7.5/10 for its gameplay. Gameplay haven’t improved, not even a bit. Issues of unmatched leveling, forcing towards in-app purchases, and many others are still present.
Addictiveness: I’ll give this game another 8/10 for its addictiveness. This game also has the same level of addiction, maybe even more for a basketball fan.
Overall I’ll Give Big Win Basketball a 7.5/10.
