These special events are basically huge tournaments, which are open for every single user. These can last for few days or even a week. Every user can play a maximum of fifty matches and the team with the most points will win the tournament. In this tournament there isn’t anything like level matching, you might be placed against a user a lot stronger or even weaker than you. The prize distribution, except the first place, is for ranges, for example, people with rank between two and five hundred will get thousand coins and hundred bucks etc.
Trophies can be obtained from small tournament and at a time four of these tournaments will be available, and each of them lasts for twenty-four hours. These small tournaments can be divided into two categories, Amateur and Pro. In Amateur you’ll always be placed against a team with same caliber as of your team. In Pro you might be placed against any random user, which can either be strong or weak. Both of these categories has two tournaments, one for ten users and other for twenty, making a total of four. Only top five winners gets reward, which decreases as you go from top to bottom.
Before your start a match, you’ll go through few steps to prepare your team. In my teams section, you can change your team’s playing eleven, heal any player if he’s injured, renew contracts, give special skills to players and evolve those skills using skill cards. Contracts can be renewed for limited times and this time varies for each player. These skill cards increases the ability of a player to upgrade his skills but till a limit. The players whose abilities can be upgraded using upgrade skill cards will be highlighted. One thing which is very important is team chemistry, and to get it right you’ll have to place players in their original playing position. You cannot change team format in this game which might not even be an issue. After preparing your team, you’ll select three of your unique Big Impact Cards a.k.a boosters.
Once you’re in a match you can do nothing else except watch the match or skip it direct to the results. Watching matches isn’t boring I expected it to be, I enjoyed it instead!!! Watching matches can also be beneficial as you can check in which area your team requires improvement. Winning isn’t much exciting when it comes to reward. You’ll get one hundred fans and same amount of coins for winning, fifty fans and fifty coins for a draw, and ten fans and fifty coins if you lose a match, and for every single goal you’ll get ten fans. These fans are required to rise your level. Whenever your level takes a step up you’ll receive increasing amount of coins and bucks. I think I forgot to mention an extremely important thing, which might even be a turning point for many user, and that is stamina system. Stamina bar contains ten slots. Once slot is required per match and it takes five or minutes to recharge one. You might be surprised to know that there isn’t any way to recharge them quickly not even by paying.
It’s time to take a look at the cards’ store. There are two currencies utilized by store, coins and bucks. Coins are abundant and are used for basic cards and injury repair, while on the other hand bucks are extremely infrequent and major power horses can on be bought using them. Whole store is divided into two categories, standard and premium, these categories should have been named like for those who cannot afford and those who can afford, and this is the true scenario over here. Standard packs accepts both coins and bucks as their payment while premium accepts only bucks.
There are five standard packs and they are as follows:
Bronze – It costs one hundred fifty coins and includes Bronze players, Big Impact cards, Bronze Kits, Bronze contacts, and Bronze skills boosts with rare chances for Silver material and Skill cards.
Silver – The price of this pack is one thousand coins and it contains Big Impact Cards, Silver Players, Contracts, Silver Skill Boosts and Silver Kits.
Gold – This one costs ten bucks instead of coins and features Gold and Standard Big Impact cards, Gold Players, Contracts, Gold Skill Boosts, Gold Kits, and Add Skill Cards with rare chances for Platinum Players and other cards. To be factual out of ten tries I only got gold players in two of them, hence you can forget about getting platinum players.
Players – I like this pack most as all of the card will be of gold players with chances of platinum players too but the price is equally heavy and costs one hundred bucks.

This review is based upon 3.9 version of Big Win Soccer, which requires minimum android 2.3.3 (gingerbread) or iOS 5.0 to work. This game isn’t graphics intensive; so it should work without any lag on new low-end devices. This game only features syncing with Facebook only, which has some benefits too but the biggest drawback it doesn’t save game data online.
The biggest problem with online games is that their game versions are continuously being checked and updated, and even their stamina time counter is synced with server’s time instead of device. Due to these few issues making a modified version, for unlimited coins, bucks, and stamina, is right next to impossible and device time changing trick also doesn’t work. Tips are the only thing that can help you and are as follows:
Let’s start with the User Interface and the artwork. In these two departments this game doesn’t show any kind of weakness. As this game is a manager simulation, having an attractive and user friendly interface was a requirement. The UI is beautifully designed and equally easy to understand. Users don’t have to dig anything to get the game running. The animations are fluid as they can be and I didn’t notice any kind of lag in them. The colors of complete game are bouncy, properly saturated and pleasant to eyes. The best and most enjoyable thing about the artwork is the match itself. Players are cartoonish and it’s absolutely a joy to watch them playing all by themselves, tackling, shooting, dodging!! Literally I enjoyed it even more than i do a live football match!!
The Sound department of this game is equally stunning and evenly detailed. The background soundtracks are intuitive, doesn’t give any kind of repetitive feeling. Again the best time to hear the music & SFX is during the match, sliding sounds, colliding sound of ‘Ouch’, and boo of audience. I don’t think that a simulator can provide you with anything better than this one does.
Finally it’s time to take out my anger which I’ve been trying to absorb from the start of this review. The first thing which I hate the most about Big Win Soccer is Unmatched Level battles!!!! When I was on level four I had to compete against users with level over two hundred, and that’s not all what’s even more disappointing is that I lost many matches, actually most of my matches against with users having level lower than mine and they weren’t using any Big Impact cards too!!!!! I want the developers to answer this!!! What’s the logic behind this?? My winning ratio wasn’t even ten percent, even using Gold Big Impact Card couldn’t impact the results. Secondly where there was a need of stamina? It hardly takes 10 minutes to for all those ten stamina slots to finish. Thirdly why the number of renewals are limited? Maybe another way to exploit the users to use in-app purchases to get new packs? And lastly even prior to writing this line, I opened five gold packs and literally didn’t even receive a single player out of it. What should I call this now? Developers Seriously need to look at these issues.
Ratings
Artwork: I’ll give Big Win Soccer a 9/10 here. I’m absolutely in love with these stunning visuals. The animations are smooth and ‘yummy’. Watching the match does waste time but the joy and suspense which it provides is unmatchable. Watching this game is equivalent to watching cartoons and above all good and attractive ones.
Music & SFX: I’ll give this game another 9/10 for music & SFX. Normally this department always is the most neglected one but Big Win Soccer literally makes an exception over here, especially for a simulation game. Everything is extremely detailed, adorable and hearable! The only major difference that I’ve noticed between this game’s SFX and a high-end computer’s football game is of speech other than that it’s perfect!!
Story & Originality: I’ll give Big Win Soccer a 7.5/10 for its story & Originality. While rating, I kept in mind that this game was released three years back. Although it contains a touch of a normal RPG but still at the time of its release it was one of its kind.
Gameplay: Big Win Soccer gets another 7.5/10 for its gameplay. This game could have made a mark over here but it fails to do so because of few regularities which affect a normal card trading game. The developers seriously needs to look over issues of getting players, stamina system, unmatched leveling, and all that are mentioned previously.
Addictiveness: I’ll give this game an 8/10 for its addictiveness. Despite all the issues that I’ve mentioned previously, this game is highly addictive. Those gameplay issues tries to keep the users away from it but generous daily offers, a bit faster recharging with Facebook logged in, and ways to earns free bucks coupled with stunning artwork and sound department can hold the user in the game.
Overall I’ll give Big Win Soccer an 8/10.
