City Island 2 – Building Story In-game store
There are two kinds of currencies in City Island 2 – Building Story. The first one is in the form of in-game cash and is the basic currency of the game. You can easily obtain in-game cash by simply playing the game, collecting income from your buildings and visitors and successfully completing quests. The second currency is in the form of gold bars and are considered to be premium, due to the fact that they are very difficult to obtain by playing the game. You can use both the in-game cash and gold bars to purchase items in the in-game store, to construct new buildings and roads in your city and to speed-up construction times.
The in-game store consists of six categories in total. The first five categories are called Houses, Commercial, Community, Decorations and Power. In all of these categories, you can purchase buildings and parks, which you can construct in your city. You will need all of the building types in your city, in order to develop and run a successful city. The more buildings you have, the more in-game cash you can collect. In order to house all of your cities inhabitants, you will need to construct a lot of houses and farms to provide food for them. Your city will also need power, which is why you need to construct power buildings, which will provide your city with electricity.
The last category in the in-game store is called Currencies, and in this category, you can purchase in-game cash and gold bars with real money, if you wish to do so. The price for in-game cash starts at $2,99 for the smallest amount of 1.250.000 in-game cash and goes up till $99,99 for the largest amount of 45.000.000 in-game cash. The price for premium gold bars starts at $2,99 for the smallest amount of 25 premium gold bars and goes up till $99,99 for the largest amount of 1000 premium gold bars.
You can also earn free premium gold bars by completing offers through Tapjoy, which usually entails that you have to either have to download and try out other apps and games or that you have to watch advertisement videos. Once you have successfully completed an offer through Tapjoy, you will be awarded with the amount of premium gold bars that have been promised to you before you started the offer.
There are a lot websites that offer cheat tools, hack tools or modifications for City Island 2 – Building Story. The cheat tools can allegedly modify the game files on your mobile device, allowing you to give yourself an unlimited amount of in-game cash and premium gold bars. Do you know the saying “If it is too good to be true, then it probably is”? Well that saying is right about all of the cheat tools for City Island 2 – Building Story, because they are nothing but fakes. The websites that offer such tools are only out to trick unknowing people and make them fill in a survey, before they are even able to download the so called cheat tool.
People nowadays are willing to do almost everything, just to get their hands on a working cheat tool for their favorite mobile games. The owners of the fake cheat tool websites know this, and they use this knowledge to make money for themselves. For every survey that gets filled in, the owners of those websites earn a significant income. After you have filled in a survey and downloaded the so called cheat tool for City Island 2 – Building Story, you will quickly find out that you have been scammed. The files that you have just downloaded are nothing but empty shells, text document and weird images. Instead of wasting your time trying to find working cheats, I will give you some tips and tricks that will help you with your gameplay.
City Island 2 – Building Story Gameplay Tips and Tricks
Because of the fact that you do not need an internet connection in order to play City Island 2 – Building Story, you can easily use the time-lapse cheat. The time-lapse cheat entails that you forward the time on your mobile device, in order to fool City Island 2 – Building Story into thinking that the time really has passed by. This means that you should never spend any premium gold bars or in-game cash, just to be able to instantly finish your constructions. You should start constructing a large amount of buildings, after which you should close down City Island 2 – Building Story.
Once you have made sure that the game is completely closed down and not running in the background, you can proceed by forwarding the time on your mobile device with an hour or several hours, depending on how long it takes for your buildings to finish constructing. When you start City Island 2 – Building Story again, you will notice that your buildings have already finished constructing. You can use the time-lapse cheat whenever you want, but always make sure to reset your device’s time to its correct state.
I used to love playing games like Sim City, where I could play as the owner of a plot of land, and construct a well-organized city. City Island 2 – Building Story brings this experience to mobile devices, and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of buildings you can construct in the game. The graphics in City Island 2 – Building Story are decent, but I have seen better in my life. The soundtracks and sound effects are nice, and they fit the overall theme of the game very well. A very positive aspect about City Island 2 – Building Story is that you have the freedom to play the game as you want to. After the tutorial ends, you can start constructing whatever building type you like, where you like to, as long as you do not exceed your own city borders. I also like the fact that you can earn experience points and level up, which leads to you unlocking more buildings and objects.
Another very positive aspect about City Island 2 – Building Story is the fact that the developers did not implement any kind of advertisements into the game. This means that you will not get bothered or annoying by banners, pop-ups or video advertisements showing up out of nowhere. Normally, it is understandable when a free-to-play mobile game has advertisements implemented in it. However, many developers do not know a single thing about ad-placement, and they go overboard when it comes to the amount of advertisements they implement into their games and apps. Luckily, this is not the case with City Island 2 – Building Story.
Unfortunately, there are also several negative aspects about City Island 2 – Building Story. For starters, the game uses an offer service called Tapjoy. Normally, it is nice to have such a service in mobile games, because players will be able to get free premium currencies, without having to pay anything. The problem with Tapjoy is that it is well known to have many glitches, and more often than not, you will not receive your reward after successfully completing your offer. This is very frustrating, because completing an offer can take a while and it means that you have just wasted your time for nothing. The developers of City Island 2 – Building Story do not seem to care about this problem and neither do the developers of Tapjoy.
When you do not receive your reward through Tapjoy, you can send them a message, and the respond that you will receive usually tells you that you either have to prove that you really completed the offer, or that you simply should move along. The problem is that you cannot properly prove that you really completed the offer, even not by sending screenshots. In my opinion, the developers of City Island 2 – Building Story should remove Tapjoy and implement another kind of reward system, even if it means that they have to develop one.
The second negative aspect about City Island 2 – Building Story is the fact that there are very long construction times in the game, especially once you start progressing through the game. It feels like the developers have made the waiting times extra-long on purpose, just to make people spend in-game cash and premium gold bars to speed things along. Once people run out of in-game currencies, they will have to either purchase more with real money, or collect more through their buildings and visitors. This makes City Island 2 – Building Story feel like a cheap cash grab, and the developers should really look into shortening the waiting times.
City Island 2 – Building Story Ratings
Artwork: I give City Island 2 – Building Story a 7/10 for its artwork. City Island 2 – Building Story has pretty mediocre and generic graphics. I have played other simulation and city-builder games before, which had similar graphics. Even though the graphics and animations in City Island 2 – Building Story are not original, I still feel like the developers have done a good job, because it is not easy to design and develop a well-working mobile game. I really like the fact that you can zoom in and out at the world map, and you can even see your citizen walking or driving around in your city. This really enhances the gameplay in my opinion.
Music & SFX: I give City Island 2 – Building Story a 7/10 for its music and SFX. City Island 2 – Building Story has several soundtracks and sound effects, which are of decent quality. The soundtracks play in the background and they change occasionally. The sound effects range from menu button SFX to construction SFX, are easy on the ears and fit the overall theme of the game very nicely. I believe the developer did a good job at combining the graphics and animations together with the music and SFX of the game.
Story & Originality: I give City Island 2 – Building Story a 6/10 for its story and originality. There are many games just like City Island 2 – Building Story, available on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store. In fact, I can easily name a couple of mobile games, which have very similar graphics and game mechanics. This makes City Island 2 – Building Story look and feel very original, which is a shame. It is very unfortunate that a lot of developers simply copy ideas from each other, instead of coming up with their own creative ideas. City Island 2 – Building Story still has a few features that I haven’t seen in other games, which makes the game somewhat original. There is also a small story during the tutorial of the game, which is a nice touch.
General Gameplay: I give City Island 2 – Building Story an 8/10 for general gameplay. The gameplay in City Island 2 – Building Story starts with a tutorial, which teaches you how to properly play the game. After a while, the gameplay becomes pretty straightforward, but still very entertaining, especially if you enjoy city-builder games. The controls are smooth and responsive and the user interface fits well with the overall theme of the game.
Addictiveness: I give City Island 2 – Building Story a 7/10 for addictiveness. It is very nice to see that there are still popular mobile games out there which do not have any kind of advertisements implemented in it. The addictiveness of City Island 2 – Building Story also goes up because there are no playtime limitations, such as lives or energy bars. However, once you start progressing through the game, you will notice that you have to wait much longer for a building to finish constructing. You also have to pay way more in-game cash or premium gold bars, just to be able to instantly finish a building. This really slows down the pace of City Island 2 – Building Story, which also unfortunately lowers the addictiveness of it.
All things considered, I give City Island 2 – Building Story a 7/10.
