It really shows that the developers have spent quite some time when it came to designing and developing Bubble Shooter Birds.

Unfortunately, there are also several negative aspects in Bubble Shooter Birds. Let’s begin with the fact that the developers have implemented a lot of very annoying and obstructive advertisements into the game. The advertisements come in the form of banners and pop-ups, which show up out of nowhere. I normally understand it when free-to-play games have advertisements implemented in them, because of the fact that the developers also need to make some money for their time and effort.

However, as a developer, it is your job to think about proper ad-placement, and always make sure that the advertisements do not annoy or obstruct the players. I really dislike the fact that the developers of Bubble Shooter Birds did not seem to have thought about ad-placement, and just went to town. Artwork: I give Bubble Shooter Birds an 8/10 for its artwork. The graphics in Bubble Shooter Birds are pretty decent, especially considering that it is a free-to-play mobile game. The graphics and animations are very colorful, which remind me of the graphics of other popular match-three puzzle games like Candy Crush Saga. The fact that Bubble Shooter Birds has a lot of different animations and special effects makes the gameplay more exciting and entertaining. It is nice to see that there are still developers out there that spend time on the graphics of their games.

Music & SFX: I give Bubble Shooter Birds a 7/10 for its music and SFX. There are several different soundtracks and a lot of different sound effects in Bubble Shooter Birds. I really like the fact that the soundtrack at the main menu is different compared to the one during your gameplay. The sound effects range from main menu button SFX to successfully matching your bird with the birds in the sky SFX. The developers did a very nice job at combining the music and SFX together with the graphics and animations of the game, making them fit very nicely.

Story & Originality: I give Bubble Shooter Birds a 6/10 for its story and originality. There are dozens and dozens of match-three puzzle games, available on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store. This means that Bubble Shooter Birds is not very original regarding its game mechanics and game concepts. However, the developers did do a good job when it comes to implementing different kinds of power-ups and boosters. There are also two different game modes, one of which allows you to compete against your friends, in order to see who is able to achieve a higher score. There is no real story behind Bubble Shooter Birds, but in my opinion, this is a time-killer match three puzzle game, and does not really need a story anyways.  

General Gameplay: I give Bubble Shooter Birds an 8/10 for general gameplay. The gameplay in Bubble Shooter Birds starts with a very nicely build tutorial, which teaches you how to use the controls, how to aim your birds and how to properly play the game. In the tutorial, you also learn how to purchase different kinds of power-ups and use them during your gameplay. After a little while, the gameplay in Bubble Shooter Birds becomes pretty straightforward, but still very entertaining to play due to all of the different levels and the two different game modes. The controls are very smooth and responsive, which is important for a game where you need to precisely aim. The user interface is crisp and clear, which allows you to navigate with ease.

Addictiveness: I give Bubble Shooter Birds a 6/10 for addictiveness. It is very unfortunate to see that the developers of Bubble Shooter Birds have implemented so many annoying and obstructive advertisements into their game. Not only do the advertisements bother all of the players, they also turn them off from the game itself. Normally, you can purchase an item in the in-game store to remove all of the advertisements, but this is not the fact with Bubble Shooter Birds. The game also has a heart system, which really limits your playtime limitation. Bubble Shooter Birds could have been a very addictive game, especially for players that enjoy playing match-three puzzle games. However, the developers have ruined the game for everyone, and they should know that not everyone is able to spend money on a free-to-play mobile game.
